Just a few days ago when your video guy processed his first (photography) film I joked he could do Podcasts with a Super 8 from now on. 😁And now you got one! Only 30 rolls for an one hour podcast!
Very excited about this, depiste the price, but in reality Super8 was never cheap even in it's glorious days. For some reason people Today tend to think the format was something like a toy... A Super8 camera with all these features would have cost much more than this one back in the 70's, or the equivalent to updated money.
If that lens mount is C-mount -- like many 8mm cameras and some Super8 cameras -- you should be able to pick up lots of vintage lenses for it! Cool! (but expensive!!!)
I was just thinking about this lol. A friend of mine who is a super 8 wedding videographer full time refused to get one because it was TOO LOUD. Like what???? That's expensive and still that noisy
Just got a Bauer C4 super for USD 5495 less than this Kodak costs. What's their target audience? Only people with too much money or is there a practical use? There are so many "good" Super 8 cameras out there that are dirt cheap. IMHO Super 8 is so terrible (also thanks to Kodak for royally f*cking Fuji and Agfa), even nostalgia can't save it.
Film is forever. Needs no special equipment to view. Super 8 is great for flashbacks in films. "Once" featured film with his girlfriend shot in Super8. Nice retro look, obvious it was not modern time period.

Putting in our bulk film order with Kodak now….

What do you think they filmed this video on?
Very interesting blend of film and a digital screen! You guys are gonna have fun with Super 8. Can’t wait to see your first production! 🎥 🎉

Yep C Mount
@@reformedfilmlab -- Great! When I said 'expensive' -- I meant the modern Kodak Super8 camera -- the lenses should be bargains....

Interesting! We'll have to keep an ear out for it for our first roll. I can certainly see that being an issue in a wedding environment.
Ok, how will you justify this expense to the IRS? 😂
Our new TH-cam camera for educational content on analog photography. Should be good…..right?

That camera is several thousand dollars. A hard pass for me. Kodak alaris was just acquired by a private equity group.

Super 8 was generally 18 frames per second I think. 16mm and 35mm were 24 frames per second in the US and I think 25 in Europe.
Yep, looks like there is an 18 fps option. We'll mostly likely stick with 24 FPS to keep with TH-cam playbook norms.
Hard pass @ $5500😮
