I got one of those universal (muffler only) for my Outlaw 525, had to custom fit it, and it's held up great. And I just got a drz400 and saw the whole kit is $150 so gonna try it out!
I’m a whole year late, but I just got a $230 exhaust off eBay for my 2000 drz400 and it sounds absolutely insane. Great tone and feels better at the top end.
placebo effect, no power increase.....powerband may shift slightly, but No increase, you NEED jets and wider intake to gain power increase, exhaust alone cannot do it.

Yeah to be honest I had low expectations, but after I got it on, did the jetting and airbox, it was a pretty noticeable difference. Had some air leaks and popping... had to throw on some rtv silicone but no big deal.

Have the same muffler on my lt230s and it sounds good. Not obnoxious but definitely better sounding up top.

I rejetted the carb with a jd jet kit.
Yeah sometime bad reviews on amazon are competitors who bash their competition products. I have a friend who is selling lot of stuff on amazon and deal with these all the time.
My question is, does it increase performance? I honestly prefer a quieter exhaust, but better performance might make it worth while. And do you have to do the airbox mod to make it work?
It definitely increases performance if you can tolerate the noise. You don’t have to do the 3x3 mod but if your looking for a boost in performance it’s a no brainer.

It’s not much more power, BUT it becomes more lively and feels a lot more responsive. I would highly recommend a pipe.
There's NO power difference!! the powerband may "shift" slightly....but any perceived power increase is Purely placebo effect, period, end of story, LOL......that's not how engines work, intake and Carb are choked, and dictates airflow limitation.........exhaust isn't doing Anything without wider intake or Jetting first.....this is Just how engines work. Those stock jets are very strictly throttled, and nothing will change that, you need bigger jets.
What tires are you running?
Did you do a carb jet kit, how is the bike performance today?
Yes, you must Jet to make power with muffler. If you don't Jet, that's fine, but the muffler is just for noise effect only......any power difference is purely placebo effect, Period, the powerband may shift a little, but I can assure you, there's NO power difference unless you jet or widen the intake, Lol.

I had a DG, no baffle on my E model, stupid loud. Probably why second review says it was too small. E model has a larger diameter exhaust throughout

@@weekendproject4502 another TH-camr had purchased the Kiri 39mm flat carb from amazon, bolted on with a few minor adjustments and works mint as well. 150 bucks, something to consider. In the spring time im going to take a chance get this pipe and that carb for under 400 bucks cant beat it.

I just wanna know if it fits on a 2021
Where the second pipe meets 3rd pipe the springs don’t keep it all the way tight. I went and got 700 red epoxy and put around joint. Let dry and you’re good to go.

How does the carbon look, the black with carbon tip doesnt ship for two months but the full carbon ships asap.
Honestly full carbon would probably be better because mine completely changed color

Yeah I’m pretty sure it works for both
@@weekendproject4502 I would like more power, and am doing the jet kit and air box. I just don't want it to be annoyingly load. I have been able to ride many great places because of the fact that all of my bikes and quads are reasonably quiet.
@@mx6pak yeah with the baffle it’s not too bad, I don’t wear earplugs when I ride with the baffle in.

@@brettmalott2750 depends on your altitude and a bunch of other factors. If you get a jd jet kit it has instructions on how to do it
