He had the honor of standing with Tim Chambers, the Saluting Marine at Rolling Thunder in DC in May, 2019, for a while in his dress blues. That meant so much to him and it was a day I will never forget and such a gift since a lost him later last year.

I've lived it-- joined Mar 4,1976 and graduated 21 yrs, 5 mos. later, in 1997. I've met the great leaders of the past, GySgt Carlos Hathcock ("the Sniper", Col Wesley L. Fox, MOH--was lectured by them. Read and learned from battle- hardened, tested Marines. I've done the studies. And I've watched several lately published videos about today's USMC.

“Therefore fear Adonai, and serve him truly and sincerely. Put away the gods your ancestors served beyond the [Euphrates]River and in Egypt, and serve Adonai !If it seems bad to you to serve Adonai, then choose today whom you are going to serve! Will it be the gods your ancestors served beyond the River? or the gods of the Emori, in whose land you are living? As for me and my household, we will serve Adonai !”The people answered, “Far be it from us that we would abandon Adonai to serve other gods;because it is Adonai our God who brought us and our fathers up out of the land of Egypt, from a life of slavery, and did those great signs before our eyes, and preserved us all along the way we traveled and among all the peoples we passed through;and it was Adonai who drove out from ahead of us all the peoples, the Emori living in the land. Therefore we too will serve Adonai, for he is our God.” - Joshua 24:14-18
Psalm 24:1-6 By David. A psalm: The earth is Adonai’s, with all that is in it, the world and those who live there;for he set its foundations on the seas and established it on the rivers. Who may go up to the mountain of Adonai? Who can stand in his holy place? Those with clean hands and pure hearts, who don’t make vanities the purpose of their lives or swear oaths just to deceive. They will receive a blessing from Adonai and justice from God, who saves them. Such is the character of those who seek him, of Ya‘akov, who seeks your face. (Selah) - Psalm 24:1-6
Fill your servant’s heart with joy, for to you, Adonai, I lift my heart. Adonai, you are kind and forgiving, full of grace toward all who call on you. - Psalm 86:4-5
There is none like you among the gods, Adonai; no deeds compare with yours. All the nations you have made will come and bow before you, Adonai; they will honor your name. For you are great, and you do wonders; you alone are God. - Psalm 86:8-10
Then Moshe and the people of Isra’el sang this song to Adonai: “I will sing to Adonai , for he is highly exalted: the horse and its rider he threw in the sea. Yah is my strength and my song, and he has become my salvation. This is my God: I will glorify him; my father’s God: I will exalt him. Adonai is a warrior; Adonai is his name. Pharaoh’s chariots and his army he hurled into the sea. His elite commanders were drowned in the Sea of Suf. The deep waters covered them; they sank to the depths like a stone. Your right hand, Adonai, is sublimely powerful; your right hand, Adonai , shatters the foe. By your great majesty you bring down your enemies; you send out your wrath to consume them like stubble. With a blast from your nostrils the waters piled up - the waters stood up like a wall, the depths of the sea became firm ground. The enemy said, ‘I will pursue and overtake, divide the spoil and gorge myself on them. I will draw my sword; my hand will destroy them.’ You blew with your wind, the sea covered them, they sank like lead in the mighty waters. Who is like you, Adonai, among the mighty? Who is like you, sublime in holiness, awesome in praises, working wonders? You reached out with your right hand: the earth swallowed them. In your love, you led the people you redeemed; in your strength, you guided them to your holy abode. The peoples have made, and they tremble; anguish takes hold of those living in P’leshet;then the chiefs of Edom are dismayed; trepidation seizes the heads of Mo’av; all those living in Kena‘an are melted away. Terror and dread fall on them; by the might of your arm they are still as stone until your people pass over, Adonai, till the people you purchased pass over. You will bring them in and plant them on the mountain which is your heritage, the place, Adonai, that you made your abode, the sanctuary, Adonai , which your hands established. Adonai will reign forever and ever. For the horses of Pharaoh went with his chariots and with his cavalry into the sea, but Adonai brought the sea waters back upon them, while the people of Isra’el walked on dry land in the midst of the sea!” - Exodus 15:1-19
Come, let us return to Adonai; for he has torn us to pieces, and he will heal us; he has struck us, but he will bind our wounds. After two days, he will revive us; on the third day, he will raise us up; and we will live in his presence. Let us know, let us strive to know Adonai. That he will come is as certain as morning; he will come to us like the rain, like the spring rains that water the earth. “Efrayim, what should I do to you? Y’hudah, what should I do to you? For your ‘faithful love’ is like a morning cloud, like dew that disappears quickly. This is why I have cut them to pieces by the prophets, slaughtered them with the words from my mouth - the judgment on you shines out like light. For what I desire is mercy, not sacrifices, knowledge of God more than burnt offerings. - Hosea 6:1-6
A psalm of David: Adonai is my shepherd; I lack nothing. He has me rest in grassy pastures, he leads me by quiet water,he restores my inner person. He guides me in right paths for the sake of his own name. Even if I pass through death-dark ravines, I will fear no disaster; for you are with me; your rod and staff reassure me. You prepare a table for me, even as my enemies watch; you anoint my head with oil from an overflowing cup. Well being and grace will pursue me every day of my life; and I will live in the house of Adonai for years and years to come. - Psalm 23:1-6
For who in the skies can be compared with Adonai? Which of these gods can rival Adonai ,a God dreaded in the great assembly of the holy ones and feared by all around him?Adonai Elohei-Tzva’ot! Who is as mighty as you, Yah ? Your faithfulness surrounds you. You control the raging of the sea; when its waves rear up, you calm them. You crushed Rahav like a carcass; with your strong arm you scattered your foes. The heavens are yours, and the earth is yours; you founded the world and everything in it. You created north and south; Tavor and Hermon take joy in your name. Your arm is mighty, your hand is strong, your right hand is lifted high. Righteousness and justice are the foundation of your throne; grace and truth attend you. How happy are the people who know the joyful shout! They walk in the light of your presence, Adonai. They rejoice in your name all day and are lifted up by your righteousness, for you yourself are the strength in which they glory. Our power grows by pleasing you,for our shield comes from Adonai - our king is from the Holy One of Isra’el. - Psalm 89:7-19
“So then,” Pilate said to him, “You are a king, after all.” Yeshua answered, “You say correctly that I am a king. It was for this reason I have been born, the reason I have come into the world, is to bear witness to the truth. Every one who belongs to the truth listens to me.” - John 18:37
For what one earns from sin is death; but eternal life is what one receives as a free gift from God, in union with the Messiah Yeshua, our Lord. - Romans 6:23
Yeshua said, “I AM the Way - and the Truth and the Life; no one comes to the Father except through me. Because you have known me, you will also know my Father; from now on, you do know him - in fact, you have seen him.” - John 14:6-7
I charge you before God, who gives life to all things, and before the Messiah Yeshua, who in his witness to Pontius Pilate gave the same good testimony,to obey your commission spotlessly and irreproachably until our Lord Yeshua the Messiah appears. His appearing will be brought about in its own time by the blessed and sole Sovereign, who is King of kings and Lord of lords, who alone is immortal, who dwells in unapproachable light that no human being has ever seen or can see - to him be honor and eternal power. Amen. As for those who do have riches in this present world, i charge them not to be proud and not to let their hopes rest on the uncertainties of riches but to rest their hopes on God, who richly provides us with all things for our enjoyment Charge them to do what is right, to be rich in good deeds, to be generous and ready to share. In this way they will treasure up for themselves a good foundation for the future, so that they may lay hold of the real life. - 1 Timothy 6:13-19

I don't think that the march looks strange.
I believe that the main point of every military march is to remove the individuality and present the whole unit as one. "We all look the same, therefore we are one".
    The same thing with uniforms.

Those are "Platoon Guides" who bear the Guidon. The Guides are wearing dress blue trousers, which is part (summer version) of the dress blue uniform. Had it been a graduation in the winter (cold) months, these guides would be wearing the entire dress blue uniforms, which you are probably more familiar with. We Marines have our own unique way of marching. We are known for that, and for our pomp and decor. It's one of the many ways that we differ from the other branches.
