    These horses are very rare I never hear too much about the Standardbred it's always AQH, Fresian (hope I spelled that right) and Arabian that has the lime light. Standardbreds are beautiful!

    And those are training ropes you're using those ProStar needs it supposed to be used on that horse because they're only there to keep that horse to run the way it's supposed to when it's pulling that wagon and you're using it to race with that's animal cruelty

    I think they'd be better off using English saddles though.

      Friend of mine bought one mare at the New Holland horse sale and made her into a barrel racer. Couldn't hardly beat her.

    This is great! A lot of fun! I would like to use a cart behind one of these horses and just get on out there. I used to do this with a donkey at a ranch named Nameless horse center in Leander TX several years ago, Boy was that fun!

    How do y'all hang y'all's hobbles on saddle

    • @douglasgriffiths3534
      @douglasgriffiths3534 7 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      They wear a crupper and the hobble hangers just as they would with a harness.

    This is cruel to strap their legs constricting their natural movement!

    • @GALLEN-vf7uy
      @GALLEN-vf7uy  7 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      You make a good point, but these horses were purchased to do a specific job and those "straps" help them perform that job. Their natural movement isn't what's desired, hence the hobbles. Just like at your job. Your boss isn't concerned with what YOU want to do, he trains you to do what he hired you to do. What you are naturally inclined to do probably consists of something involving a nap!!! lol Thanks for commenting ARTEMISIA

      Artemisia Gentileschi standardbreds natural gate is the pace hobbles just help them keep their gate when going fast

    • @kaylabrown4699
      @kaylabrown4699 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Their natural gait is to pace. That’s what their doing. Hobbs keep them in the pace. Don’t speak on some shit you don’t know QH man

    Speed racking looks so weird

    • @GALLEN-vf7uy
      @GALLEN-vf7uy  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      That isn't speed racking.....It's pacing.....thanks for watching and commenting

  • @mawmawvee
    @mawmawvee 7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Why are those harnesses on the horses? What is the purpose of them? Does it train them to pace? Why do you want them to pace?

    • @tessaleight7067
      @tessaleight7067 7 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      mawmawvee there called Hobbles they make them pace

    • @douglasgriffiths3534
      @douglasgriffiths3534 7 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      They are in fact pacing Standardbreds. The hobble makes them stay on gait, but pacers are actually bred to pace, just as some bloodlines are bred to trot.

    • @savannah7481
      @savannah7481 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You can teach a standardbred to canter tho, my standardbred does canter sometimes.

    • @kaylabrown4699
      @kaylabrown4699 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Keeps them in their pacing gait. At a high speed like that they will try to single foot or run. And then they trip.
