My experience is different with the quick-shifter on this bike. It is very smooth and exact in a wide range of revs. It is a little clunky on 1-2, but compensate with the clutch on the lowest gears. Awesome power train.
Enjoyed your review. It’s great to get a review from someone who doesn’t seem “brand loyal” all the time. (So many other reviewers are consistent BMW GS owners and there is too much bias.) And ignore those absolutely perfect commenters who never make any errors, trashing you about 1200gs replacement/chain drive, etc. Most of us know what you are meaning. (The joking jabs about the chain drive are fine and in good humor. It’s the critics that irritate me.) Great unbiased info on the 1300gs. Question….1300gs is supposed to be a tiny bit more “short rider” friendly compared to 1200/1250gs. What’s your take on the 1300gs and short rider (30” inseam range)?
Love the feed back! Well since I’m not a short rider I can’t give you a perfect answer but I’d say you would definitely be comfortable during the riding portion and as for stopping / at a stand still you’d be able to flat foot at least 1 foot pretty comfortably. Probably a little more than tip toes if you’re talking about both feet down.
Saw one in the flesh a few days in the dealer's. Must say I prefer the older 1250. It's all academic anyway as I'll stick with Japanese as BMW gives me reliability anxiety as well as wallet insolvency.
It's not a chain drive - it's shaft drive. How could you not know that about the GS????????
I’m too poor to own a GS. First time on one. Please forgive me 🙏🏼

For the upshift, you may have to rev match a bit and find the sweet spot. Could take some getting used to 😅
Ya I would never use it
I saw my first one at the coffee shop today. I didn't recognize it as a GS.
Glad to hear a 6'4" guy can flat foot it.
Very easy. And comfortable
For smooth quick shift up shift you shouldn’t accelerate hard .upshift at a steady throttle .. that relieve load on gearbox
Maybe it would be a little better but if I owned this bike I wouldn’t use it at all.
Chain drive??? Just rode my 1300 from Vancouver to Seattle and forgot the chain lube!!!!😅
I’d keep it in the luggage from now on
That is the weirdest chain drive I have ever seen
Same! Forgot it was shaft
That is where I stopped playing his video
He should have gone to SPECSAVERS 😂
Fix audio, right after you lube the chain.
Good advice!
Thanks for the review mate … the guy in front to your left what was he riding if you could please tell me 🙏( white )
I believe it was the 2024 BMW R 1250 RS
Replacing the 1200? Ten year time warp? You missed a generation, the 1250
Good catch 🙏🏼
Did you say chain drive bike ?
I did. But I was wrong. It’s shaft drive.
Mr.midget moto.
Do you remember what the price was on that bike.
Thanks
It was in the video at this time stamp: 14:57
Base Price: $18,895
About $19, 000 good luck with that.
@@richbenoit1840 thanks
Yeah, you made a couple mistakes, but I knew what you meant. Still overall, not a bad review.
Thanks!
The dumbest review I’ve seen. It replaces the 1200 ? No. Chain Drive ? What are you smoking ?
I was told they’ll be discontinuing the 1200 series
Engine is still too small for adventure motorcycle and bike its not heavy enough.
The coffee shop adventures do require a big engine.
Chain drive?!
Do your homework.
Yes sir!
Homework! Open your eyes.
Do your homework if releasing videos...half arsed attempt.
I focus on the ride. You can find the specs anywhere online.
@MidgetMoto GS shaft drive...Moses was aware of that.
It’s interesting the people who get the most butt hurt about getting something wrong in a video is BMW fan bois.
@MidgetMoto If something is worth doing....its worth doing right...nout to do with brand. Good luck

Can’t go wrong with Japanese!
