Being a little kid in the 80s I grew up watching Ke as Short Round and Data. It was just really cool to have a cool character in these movies that looked like me. I know it sounds dopey but looking back at it... it really helped me.
Not dopey at all. As a little nerdy Mexican kid in the 80s , I get it. There weren't many characters that looked like us growing up. I'm so happy for the kids today that get to have such a rich and diverse pool of characters to enjoy while growing up!
