The ULTIMATE Ram 3500 Air Assist Suspension System | Carli Pintop

  • This customer came to our shop with a Ram 3500 factory air assist truck. While capable, these trucks are notoriously stiff on and off road. To fix that we set this truck up with a Carli Suspension 3.25” pintop system featuring 2.5” Carli tuned King shocks, which completely changed the ride and look of this truck!

    This is the best looking dually I have ever seen. Classy and functional but aggressive. I want to do a similar setup with a 2013-2018 with MB G56. Unless the MY2022 gets the new Allison 9 speed auto. Fuel 20" forged and 37x12.5" A/T plus full Carli (leveling or slight all around lift?). Don't you need to order the 3.5" spaced versions for Fuel dual? Also, how did he get the non-chrome bumpers and grill. Love your channel. Greetings from Seattle, WA.

      Thank you for the words.
      I would definitely recommend doing the full Carli suspension set up for a matched ride and handling capabilities. The rear leaf packs do compliment the ride.
      CJC did a great job specing out the wheels without the use of no spacers.

      Why compare. There job is to promote there product on there channel

    • @CJCOffRoad
      @CJCOffRoad  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      They’re actually very different systems with different goals. Kelderman builds their systems around the use of bags and the novelty of height adjustment. Carli designs their systems around ride quality and capability off road. It’s like comparing rally car suspension with the stance world if that makes sense? Both systems have very different end uses and purposes. Airbags make sense for on road use and carrying varied loads, but they will never offer the ride quality, travel, or off road capability of a true spring.

    • @noosh8316

      yeah they are pretty exaggerated for sure. If some states officers will ticket you if your tires stick out X amount of inches past the fenders. I think the exact amount varies from state to state, but here in PA they enforce it pretty harshly, especially if you drive your big dually truck down the main street of a town or city and a cop spots you.

    What lift is needed to fit 35’s? My truck rides so damn rough, will the shocks alone smooth out the rough ride from the stiff springs? I have the same truck, I’ve been contemplating selling it because I’m not towing as much but with the price of new trucks I’d rather keep it but I really need it to ride better.

    • @CJCOffRoad
      @CJCOffRoad  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Sadly shocks alone won’t do much since it’s the springs that really cause the issue. You can easily fit 35s on these trucks though with a basic level or even stock.

    • @15Jeep
      @15Jeep 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      For Dodge and Ford Class 2 and Class 3 trucks...only a level suspension.....taller springs and longer shocks are needed on the front to fit 35 inch tires. Probably a good idea to put the same type of shocks on the rear.
      If you are not towing frequently and or very heavy loads...why have a DRW.....Dual Rear Wheel...(aka, dually) truck? In the same light...why even have a truck with a diesel engine? I tow heavy loads and have always been pleased with Class 3 SRW...Single Rear Wheel...trucks......with air bags in the rear. The SRW truck equipped with 5000 pound air bags can tow and haul just about as much as a DRW truck...AND offers a better ride; easier to maneuver, turn, and park; lower expense for tires, etc.
      I don't necessarily dislike DRW trucks.....have their place...several people need 'em. If I was towing very heavy loads...and fairly frequently...I would need...and want a DRW truck. For towing heavy loads with low to moderate frequency a SRW truck is a better choice.

      @@15Jeep I was traveling quite a bit with my RV for work when I bought it. It’s a 42 foot toy hauler so I needed the dually. I’ve been looking at gas trucks but the prices are ridiculous. I prefer the diesels over gas for the power and they’re fun to drive.

    • @15Jeep
      @15Jeep 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@SLICKW1993 Yes....you definitely needed a DRW truck. I agree, the diesel trucks are fun to drive with all of the available power. I currently have a diesel...but selling it and buying a gas truck.
      The Ford 7.3L gas engine has quite a bit of power.....not as much as the diesel engines. However, tow all moderate to heavy loads. The big and most noticeable difference.....diesel is awesome at launch...moving the load from a stop...and a little better for passing at speed on the highway. Other than that...the 7.3L will handle the needs for many Class 2 and Class 3 truck owners...for less money and lower maintenance and operating costs.

    awesome! This owner actually uses their truck off road quite a bit so dirt performance is important to them. If this was an on road warrior you could absolute do without the 37s. The King shocks however are actually a big part of why this truck tows nice. While the Fox Commuter shocks ride nice, they don’t offer the damping necessary for towing heavy.
