You know what I love? I can go around TH-cam and find awful comments and people arguing, fighting or calling one another out but everyone comes together on videos with songs like these. Hope in humanity semi-restored.
I appreciate the juxtaposition of the rebellious angst in the first stanza and the confident realization in the second, which are tied together nicely at the bridge and the chorus.
unfortunatley the ratings of the movie was pretty bad for a disney movie overall so we probably wont see a sequel sadly enough, it was at the time and still is MY favorite disney movie of all time.
Enclave Officer i feel like they helped each other Jim needed someone to help him grow up and out of the grief of being reject by his real dad and silver needed someone to show him that in life are other things to live for not just dreams And they both needed love
Fell in love with this song thanks to the movie when I was 8. Ten years later and I got to watch my girlfriend watch it for the first time and fall in love with it herself, I had managed to forget about it. Dang, the feels.
this song just made me feel better. I was close to crying becasue of school and i listen to this and told me self "I am who I am, no one can change it. School can beat me down, make me want to be alone forever, but I am here, waiting to see new things and do my best. No matter how many time im beating down, I can get up and show them that this is me and they cant change me. They dont know who i am and I will show them WHO I AM!"
This song really brings up memories, but it's also really important for me. Especially since my girlfriend broke up with me. Now I'm gonna drum this at the exams concert. I'm gonna throw in a little drum solo just before the bridge, so I'm gonna make this epic as hell! :D
JoshOrtiz88 Haha I already got the drums figured out :) I'm gonna make this perfect. And I won't ever... I got over her some time ago. But I'm still gonna make this song extra awesome! :3
Man...awesome song from an awesome movie. Really tells about the struggles someone has when transitioning from child to teenager to adult. I actually get a bit choked up when I hear this song.
You know, you can think something is cool without bashing something else. There is a shitload of amazing music being put out, you're just looking at the wrong songs.
oh my head this song is da bomb! i totally forgot about this song ! so glad i found it on utube! john is soooooooooooooo talented. - love him!- all this and brains too!(he he!)
I found this movie again after almost 8 years. I used to watch it all the time when I was little and I was SO in love with Jim... Well...I guess I haven't changed since then..
The scene with this song in Treasure Planet has me weeping every time. That movie is fantastic, and I can relate to it on so many levels. This song really pulls on my heart strings. Beautiful movie, fantastic song.
This song had always been special to me. But now it holds even more meaning ever since my boyfriend sang it to me when we started talking about how Treasure Planet is an underrated Disney masterpiece. This is more his song than mine since he has gone through a lot. His past really hurt him since he was called "a boy" all because he couldn't keep up with the changes being forced on him. He lived through a terminal illness and thought his second life meant nothing. But I never saw him as anything less, even if he had his flaws and insecurities. He had never been less of who he is. He's full of questions about the world and the great beyond, easily excited about the cosmos, and blessed with a kind heart and sense of humor. And I'll never get tired of reminding him of all that.
This song caught my attention when I first listened to this song watching Treasure Planet when I was younger, and I remembered this song one decade later. So inspiring to the heart, I don't know why but my sister loved this song. Thank you for this lyric video. The movie Treasure Planet has to be one of my favorite Disney movie next to Beauty and The Beast.
i love the song, awesome work on the lyrics too. it took me wat, 4 years to find this song, mostly cuz i never bothered to find it i guess. thanks for the vid and song
How is it possible to dislike this song? I;m being serious. This has some of the best lyrics and message I have ever heard from a song. Everyone deals with trying to be accepted, and this song helps us feel accepted. Even a Goo hater can relate to this song, its not about love or sappiness, its about being yourself even when times get rough.
i cant believe anyone would dislike this video!!!!! i love the song and i love the lyrics cause theyre easy to read unlike some... thanks for making this vid!
I was listening to this and Iris back to back and wondering why they both sounded so similar, then I realized that John Rzeznik is the lead singer of the Goo Goo Dolls! Awesome!
I dedicate this song to an amazing person ive just met, i know i havnt known him long and now i wont get a chance to now, but i know that he is spectacular and he shines, he is bright and he is brilliant. i wish i had the chance to get to know him more. Never forget Louis, you are bigger than all of them and please dont ever change no matter how much the worlds wants you to. Never stop being brilliantly and wonderfully weird.
WHAAAAAAAAAAA OMG OK THAT MAKES SO MUCH SENSE NOW. Thank you so much for that piece of information, because I LOVE Goo Goo Dolls, and I was like, this sounds really familiar, who is this? And you JUST COMPLETED MY LIFE THANK YOU SO MUCH
I love that song so much...society never change...sensitive persons feel like this message by the song..but nothing happens. A lot of songwriters take their lives away for massages like this in a hope to be understand but nothing happens..its really sad avici, linkin park, xxx etc..where are people who feel like this nowadays? Because I dont meet people who thinking or feel the same..and when u think u find..then u see the circles goes on...a feeling no one really understand who u really are..whats so difficult to be fine with people?
Programmed Persona i know im late to the party but i thought he was cute when i was little. still think he is. if i could hop into one movie and live in it this wold so be it.
You know what I love? I can go around TH-cam and find awful comments and people arguing, fighting or calling one another out but everyone comes together on videos with songs like these. Hope in humanity semi-restored.
FARJORDAN that was really inspiring, I'm going to try to do an animation to this song, now... my first video I upload. :D
Yup. Rude rants, uninformed insults, and name-calling is NO mature thing to do on TH-cam or any site for that matter.
No one here defines humanity.
i realize I'm kinda randomly asking but do anyone know of a good site to stream newly released series online ?
I appreciate the juxtaposition of the rebellious angst in the first stanza and the confident realization in the second, which are tied together nicely at the bridge and the chorus.
Treasure planet was such an underrated movie it's kinda sad :-/
yeah!
I never thought I would like it because it has bad ratings, but then I watched it al LOVED it!
I know right it Makes me sad
Better than the other shit Disney has been making recently
One of our favorites!
Love this fucking song. I freaking love the time I was born. I had the privilege to enjoy a real childhood without violence.
"how can the world want me to change their the ones that stay the same"- in my opinion best line in the song
I'm so gonna copy this quote.
Still got this movie...love it Love Treasure planet
Same, Treasure Planet is literally my childhood
***** That, Toy Story, and Star Wars for me.
best Disney movie ever.
I like how they revealed Jim's backstory in this sequence instead of having a cliched character insight scene, know what I mean?
I feel like they should make a sequel to treasure planet, but the ratings probably wouldn't be as good as the first one...
unfortunatley the ratings of the movie was pretty bad for a disney movie overall so we probably wont see a sequel sadly enough, it was at the time and still is MY favorite disney movie of all time.
Enclave Officer i feel like they helped each other
Jim needed someone to help him grow up and out of the grief of being reject by his real dad and silver needed someone to show him that in life are other things to live for not just dreams
And they both needed love
Well, a sequel was planned, but unfortunately cancelled
A beautifully sad song. Memories are the only things that keep me connected to my past. What I would give to relive those cherished moments..
Still brings back the memories. God i love Treasure Planet.
;-; such feelings in this song.
Fell in love with this song thanks to the movie when I was 8. Ten years later and I got to watch my girlfriend watch it for the first time and fall in love with it herself, I had managed to forget about it. Dang, the feels.

Rock On!!!! Don't let heartbreak stop you. Though, I should take my own advice.
JoshOrtiz88 Haha I already got the drums figured out :) I'm gonna make this perfect. And I won't ever... I got over her some time ago. But I'm still gonna make this song extra awesome! :3

As the only Disney movie that deals with parental abandonment, this movie holds a dear place in my heart.
