I have autism spectrum disorder, and I was diagnosed with seizures back in 2018. I would have these episodes where I would stare out into space for a few seconds, and then come back to normal. These were going on for a long time, and we couldn’t figure out what this was. When we found out it was a seizure, we were happy we found out what these episodes were

I became epileptic at the age of twelve, in 1987. I watched this video to see if I could have an association to autism from my epilepsy disorder. My seizures have been less frequent in these last five years, having four or five seizures per year, compared to having four or five per month--leading to my temporal lobe lobectomy in 2001.

My son has Autism he dose rocking heavy loud breathing. He was recently put on Keppra for temporal lobe epilepsy.. his repetitive motion rocking heavey breathing has stopped! He actually gets bored now. I go into his room he looks like a normal teenager now. He has IQ of 45. He is adopted he had not been correctly diagnosed. I think his IQ is much higher than 45. He has only been on Keppra two weeks! The difference already is mind blowing!

Idk if i have unprovoked yet some people have witnessed it. My provoked seizures are triggered by stress, lack of sleep, and poor diet, along with stress my cptsd can trigger an episode.

Dear Dr Spence, I wondered about your thoughts on links between ASD & genetic forms of epilepsy; specifically STX1B. I'm having a great deal of difficulty sourcing reliable studies/information, particularly pertaining to cognitive deterioration & behavioural regression. Additionally any information relating to GI complications / symptoms associated with STX1B + ASD. There seems to be very little information available & I'd be most grateful if you could suggest any sources or share thoughts? Thank you.

Thank you for the information. What about cognitive impairment and regressions that are linked to Tonic Clonic seizures? From experience, I have witnessed my son go from a 4th grade level to a 2nd grade level across the board after having 2- 3 minute seizures and it's almost as if his brain reset incorrectly. My son is epileptic,ASD, and has ADHD any thoughts on the overlapping with ADHD?

You can't "develop" autism after early childhood, it's something you're born with.

    • @HoneyFlowerblood

@@robokill387 no you can get it from epilepsy
