    Matt. Use a jam nut. Drill a hole that allows a 3/4” headed bolt to pass through. Weld the nut to the receiver. When you insert the square hitch tube into receiver then you tighten bolt through welded nut against hitch tube n no rattle. It stays tight. I’ve used them on 4 or 5 pickups. Works great. Quick fix w $1.00 in parts. Of course you still need to insert pin n cotter pin.

    Not sure where they came up for the idea for the X90 but they had a convenient chassis already in the Vitara/Tracker. They put a slightly different body on it. Had a 97 tracker, same drivetrain that someone had taken off the rear roof and put a trunk on instead. Sold that hardtop and put a more normal one to fit the dog... They make pretty good off road vehicles in stock form, with good ground clearance and approach angles for their size.

      YT would rather keep the bots. It’s a way they can punish creators and frivolously demonetize them.

    NB, my Mrs loves her 2015 Suzuki Grand Vitara (GV) - it does everything she wants in a mini offroader (16 inch wheels with high profile tyres and a 2-inch lift does a lot (over factory specs) for improving offroad access )... Of course most of the daily grind involves road miles and sedate suburbia.

    Years ago a mechanic friend of mine solved the receiver hitch wiggle problem by welding a nut over the hole on the inside of one side and grinding the tip of the correct size bolt to a taper so it will pilot in from the other side. It works slick as Barbie snot and no extra parts either!

    Just tack a 1/2 nut inside if the tire carrier tube, put it in the receiver use a 1/2 bolt to pin/cinch it up retains the carrier and.get rid of the wiggle

    I drove a "Mystic Magenta" Geo Tracker that actually looked like a Pepto Bismol (TM) bottle on wheels for 14 years, and I loved that vehicle. I never used it for heavy-duty offroading, but it did exactly what I needed it to do.

    Its grate to see all the shop work goings on, thank you. Um... Seeing Matt or any of the crew use the cut off saw while on their knees has always been a thorn in my side. Having to cut off miles and miles of tubing I had to properly mount the saw on a steel bench, and a tubing feed length of "L" aluminum to allow a straight and repeatable cuts. Its a world of differance no need for knee pads, or spilling for coffee with cutting shavings in it.

    • @wingnutbert9685
      @wingnutbert9685 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah, makes my knees hurt watching. LOL! When I built my shop 20 yrs ago, I did a full wall metal rack out of angle iron. Hung 24"x 8' x 10ga. in and out feed tables either side with the dry saw recessed in the middle so the top of the saw base was even with the in/out decks. Engraved measure marks on the out feed side and built a sliding fence stop out of some angle and flat bar and a pair of vice-grips welded to it. Slides along the front edge and locks on anywhere. And all my lengths of round, flat, and tube, etc are right there to drop down and blast away for production cutting. The time it's saved me over the years is huge.
