I love how yamaha first came out on the competition betwen kawasaki and honda 150cc on dual purpose market, yamaha just pack the wr155 with their best engine, wich share the same engine as r15 and its so powerfull and advance, also not to mention there's lot of aftermarket support for this engine, because this engine platform has been on the market for years and its almost in every yamaha 150cc line up here in south east asia. Cool video dude, love from indonesia.
Thank you for the review. You gave me the confidence to buy this bike which is launching soon in Nepal 🇳🇵 for the price of USD 5800. Since my Yamaha XTZ 125 suffered in mountain 🏔️ performance, I had my doubts on this one too
Looking forward to trying one out on my next trip. I have done a few tours with your guys in HCM but on my next trip I am hoping to do a multiday trip up north. Excited to try out one of these bike.
I enjoy your videos. How did you convert the rear tire to tubeless? Is there some sort of tape to seal the rim spoke holes? Why not convert the front tire to tubeless? Thank you.
It is called "TUbliss by Nuetech." It costs around $120 per wheel. It is an amazing system, but has pro's and cons. Basically you need to know how to use it, they are not that "beginner friendly" which is why we can only install them on bikes being used for tours under the control of a tour guide. In terms of front - on the front wheel, the system needs a perfect rim to work. Any dents in the rim and the system fails. Therefore running normal tubes or a mousse is preferred for front wheels. Back wheel and the system is a bit less picky to damaged rims.
Am i gonna miss anything by buying this over crf 300 rally? my purpose is for daily ride (40km 50/50 highway and not so smooth rural cement road ) with possibility of offroad riding on some occasion. My current experience with motorcycle is limited to Keeway cafe racer 152 and Honda Click 125.
I think from a casual user standpoint, not actually that easy to get parts. However for companies like Tigit we can now buy direct from factory in Indonesia, so the part supply is not so bad. In Saigon there is alot of shops doing WR 155 maintenance, but in Hanoi I think the bike is still not understood. Basically, you can get parts, but you need to go to the right shop.
Nice review ! I’m planning to get this bike brother ,do you think I can handle this my height is 175cm and weighing 68kilos. ? I don’t have an experience to ride this kind of tall bike ,Thank you .
Great review, Jon. Coincidentally, I literally just ordered a new one at Revzone in Saigon based on recommendations from my dirtbike and ADV friends in DaNang and Hoi An friends after a too challenging offroad adventure on my CB500X. Really looking forward to riding it in our area in the central Highlands. I need to find parts to upgrade it a bit with the same as what you are doing to yours. Will you be selling these accessories, or can you provide a list to shop for to get a new bike prepped?

Cool hope to see you some day!
This bike is so popular, I saw many customized supermoto WR 155R with with road tires.
An SM would be great.
Great explanation 👍🏼✔️
have not ridden anything other than my Honda 300l which weighs the same as the 150 but probably not as agile as the 150 but still very manevourable
Hi, is the Yamaha WR155R available in Europe? How do you rate the Yamaha WR155R against the Honda CRF250L?

You should get Yamaha PG1.
Sort of agree with you!

Awesome fun bike ☺️
What's parts availability like for them now? I remember one of your old videos said it could be hard to find spares

Are the rims on that bike tubeless ready?
No, the system is called nuetech tubliss, you an Google it.
Don't install them unless you know what you are doing though.

A 155cc motorbike can handle anything. I am 2 metres tall and 100KG.
@ thank you brother
Goood stuff
How does it compare the the klx250
KLX 250 has always felt like a toy to me. Don't like it.
WR 155 is a much better bike.
