While this video is very helpful, for anybody fairly novice to removing car trim, I would strongly advise to review the other videos on the same topic, same vehicle (with auto transmission for example), for more context. There is stuff that passed over in this video that maybe more obvious for more experienced people. For one thing, in the video the trim is either already popped out, or seems to pop out very easily, this won’t necessarily be the case. Without experience, it’s so easy to damage the trim, if not break the tabs that clip it on. Take a lot of care, be patient, pry gently (but apply force), to release the components. Buy the car interior trim tools that are made of strong plastic. You’ll still probably need a small flathead 1:29 screwdriver applied very carefully at strategic moments.Even once released, the components don’t necessarily simply come out; the may need to be jimmy’ed somewhat to press past other tabs and obstructions. I recommend also a magnetic probe to catch or retrieve any screws that were dropped, and a magnetic screw cup to hold all your less screws and maybe shoe box or small box to hold the components and your tools while you are fussy -ing about the console in this confined cabin space. Once the aux component is plugged in you’ll probably want to secure to something so it doesn’t rattle. I Olfa’d some insulation off the back of the center console storage box and neatly duct taped the the device to ‘back’ of the storage’box’. It appears there is enough clearance back there to do this. Even reassembling the trim wasn’t slam dunk IMO, although it did all reassemble fine in the end. Again, I’m sure for someone used to removing car trim, this is all really a nothing-burger, for others it won’t be as obvious.

Provo Beast Audio Installation from my research it looks like if you buy the correct kit you can plug it into the cd changer port and it would play aux on the cd setting instead correct ?
Well, similar as the kit in the video, yes. However, it doesn't replace your CD button, the video shows how to activate the aux portion when the kit is connected. If you have the CD changer separate from the stereo itself, the port used in the video will already be filled and used by the external CD changer. This is why you will need the Y splitter from the link i provided in addition to the kit used in the video.
Provo Beast Audio Installation I don't believe I have an external cd changer. it just says 6 cd changer at the top of the radio. so I would not need the y splitter ?

@@EkJaKe22 I saw another video say you can use a Y-splitter to allow it to still be plugged in too so both can connect to that same port. If it's only for XM then maybe I don't need the splitter.
Do you have the link to the kit? I tried looking for it on Amazon but it's not the same

My aux dont want to work when im pressing it can you help me fix it please
Hi bro, thanks for the video. All the videos I watched were tested with a phone. Can a usb with songs play with this?
You should add a link to buy the product
He did. Pay attention.
@@g00glian0 that was added later... Your late getting here 😂
Hi there !
Awesome video … was able to successfully install. However, when I press the CD/Aux button, I do not get the CD C option - it will only play CDs. Is there another step I should try to get it working? Thanks !
Does it work if you disconnect and reconnect the adapter to the radio?
where did you store the big box part in the middle of the adapter? just set under the radio behind the cubby? thank you in advance
Thanks for video...1 question though whats the USB for though? To charge phone? Or can the usb used as an aux as well?
USB doesn't generally support charge and music transfer from a device, but it should support a thumb drive with preloaded content.
Where did you get the actual six cord? I need help selecting the correct one for 2003 Honda accord
Hello, I have installed the exact same adapter in my car and it is working great. However, in other videos, people are able to skip songs and play the next song on a playlist using the controls on the dash and steering wheel. What can I do to be able to do this? Thanks.
Good question, the video was of a customer install, so I no longer have access to help you out. Sorry not to be much more help.
Thanks for the time it takes to help. I bought it and the y adapter installed it and the xm still works and my original cd and aux buttons still do exactly the same things there is no third option. I guess the Honda does not recognize it? also does yours light up? there is a spot on the top in the yellow sticker that looks like an LED is supposed to shine, but nothing lights up... bad module?
Not sure sorry, may be a bad module.
But to take off the plastics panels. When u move ur shifter all the way down. Theres now way to turn ur key all the way off. So power is still getting to everything. I noticed that when I had mine apart to wrap the plastic. Or were u able to turn ur key all the way off?
Yes, either use the shift lock override, or alternatively you can pull the negative off the battery.
this isn’t a negative comment!! but after doing this my panel stop closing properly! it isn’t anything crazy but i’d like to know if there’s a quick fix or anything? it like doesn’t spring close and doesn’t spring up unless i flick it up
unfortunately the adapter does have a static noise that comes with it so kind of disappointed but oh well
Really? Have you found anything to reduce the noise? I’m looking for a method without the static if that’s the case since I’m thinking about getting a 07 as a first car
Angel Mercedes how much you get it for
I did this and it worked when i have it on and i accelerate it makes an eerie sound any idea what i did wrong?
Nice video.. I wonder if this will enable Android auto on the phone..? maybe? I've never used it, but noticed the app on my phone with no way to open it without connecting to a car USB. Recently bought an 06 accord also. :)
Android auto will be only enabled with an android auto radio. This isn't going to do anything for that.
@@ProvoBeastAudio Ah, I figured as much, thank you for the reply and video! It is kind of odd.. having Android auto on my phone, but I can't access it without connecting to an android auto, auto... which will already have the apps on a larger screen. haha.
i unscrewed and took out everything but when it got down to the last step, i literally did not know how to take out the center console department thing, so i squeezed my hand through the cracks at the top and managed to plug it in somehow 😭😭 it works though so i did it
If I have the Sirius Xm radio, am I able to just remove it instead of buying the y adapter?
I'll try this... but what adapter is used in the video?... can you used a jack to jack?
All the info is in the description. Jack to jack?
Do you know of any product that allows the steering wheel controls to work?
Where did you hide the aux adapter (Yellow box)? I mean do you here any rattling behind the dash at all.
It just fits back behind the pocket. No rattles, but if you worry about rattling, just zip tie it to exiting wiring.
Provo Beast Audio Installation thank you sir
If you have the cd changer, you need an extra part? I don't understand the description
Yes, you will need a y splitter to make the adapter work: www.amazon.com/Changer-Harness-Splitter-Navigation-External/dp/B00Y9YX7E4

from my research it looks like if you buy the correct kit you can plug it into the cd changer port and it would play aux on the cd setting instead correct ?
Provo Beast Audio Installation
in the video you did not use an adapter ? I have the same radio where it says 6 cd changer at the top

I don't believe I have an external cd changer. it just says 6 cd changer at the top of the radio. so I would not need the y splitter ?
Can you purchase this cord somewhere else other than ordering it off this site? Like Walmart or something. I leave for school in 2 days and I need it quick.
We have never seen it at walmart, but you could try a local car audio shop.
i did not see your y-adapter installed. did you skip that part
We didn't have a need for a Y adapter. This model was not equipped with satellite radio or a 6 CD changer. The port was open.
is the y-adapter only necessary if you want the cd changer to operate?
Yep!
hi great video, so I have a 6 cd changer and a port open, so no Y adapter? thanks I have the same car interior trim and color too.
Yep no Y adapter if the port is open.
