Ron: GROM certainly appears to be a high end unit as well. I would stay away from the cheap units on eBay. To date, I have had no problems. Have primarily used for Bluetooth pairing with my iPhone for Audio.
It does seem pricey ($140 for bluetooth streaming?) but the only other option for this generation of accords are the android head units which are anywhere from $400-900 dollars so I mean it isnt that bad for a factory look + bluetooth
For those of you on the fence and trying to decide which way to go, there are so many choices; soldering your own aux cable, from audio, cheap Amazon kits, and gta kit. I went with the gta kit, picked it up since I live in Toronto. Installing took well over an hour (mostly taking it apart took forever) but 2 years later it still works amazing. Best $180 spent, if you're trying to decide if you should get this one, you should. High quality product that is Canadian made.
To pair kit to a new phone press and hold the seek button down. It will show 8800. And will reveal itself to new phone. I've had this kit for a few years now and really appreciate it.
great kit. Works perfectly. TIP: Dont use an iphone cable or whatever cable you use for phone. Use an USB cable extender. Means you can use whatever cable you wish. Also means if you change from an iphone to android for example, you dont have to remove all the panels again.
I Personally would plug the cable directly to the box then if I had to change it I would just take the panels off again. Having an extender would just create more mess with a longer cable unless you don't mind a long cable hangin around.
Just installed the GTA car kit with pure bluetooth in my 2005 Honda Accord with XM. The kit came with a splitter so I did not lose the XM function, even though I don't use it at this time. The install went just like the video and it took me all of 20 minutes to complete with no issues other than getting my big hands in tight places to grab wires. The system works great and sound is top notch. I would definitely recommend it to my friends. I plan to install a kit in my Toyota Landcruiser next.
I have a 2005 Honda Accord and I just installed this kit today. My setup was different as the connector on the back was not on the bottom, facing down. It was instead facing toward the back of the unit. So, I had to remove the radio to get to the connector. It took some extra time to get that out. Once I did, everything went smoothly. The microphone wire can be a pain if you have big hands like I do. All said and done, it took me a little over an hour. It works great, sounds great, and the microphone seems to work well. The unit is a little pricey compared to others, but I'm very happy with my purchase. Thank you!
Bought the kit a few days ago and finally got through the install. This is for a 2007 accord 6-6 without the satellite or navigation. I don't know how people did this "In 20 mins or so", it took me almost two hours to go through this. The process is simple enough but taking parts off the first time is unnerving and putting the middle pocket back took 20 mins in itself - you have to line it up perfectly or else it won't go in. Sound quality is very nice, and I am so thankful to never have to listen to the radio again.
Excellent product and excellent installation video! Went smoothly with no surprises and took less than an hour, working slowly and carefully in a 2007. Highly recommended!
Took the time to find this video again so I could leave a review; this kit is so awesome! The installation was so easy, all in all it probably took me 30 min from start to finish. I will say: on my specific model there was no plug in on the bottom. I had to remove the whole stereo and found a plug on the back. As far as I can tell, it unplugs the CD player, which for me is no issue because I never use it anyway. Just a heads up it anyone finds them selves in the same position. But even with the few extra steps I can’t go on enough about this kit! Great purchase, worth every penny.
Ordered my kit a few months ago and just got to installing today since having some time off for the holidays. All that said.... Work absolutely awesome! Install is a breeze and setup was very easy. Thank you for a great product!!
Video is 99% accurate for 2007. Just installed GTA Car kit in my daughters 2007 Accord. The only thing different is that they now include a Y-cable so that the SiriusXM radio can be connected at the same time as the GTA car kit plug. MAJOR DIFFERENCE: The plug for the 2007 Accord isn’t pointing DOWN. IT POINTS TO THE FRONT OF THE CAR. I had to remove two screws on the bottom of the radio from the bracket on the back left and right side & pull/bend the bracket down so that I could insert the plug into the back of the radio. Kind of a pain in the ass but still doable.
This is a great set up for an older car without having to swap the stereo head unit. If you have the Honda premium head unit w/ navigation, you will have to take the head out to get to the plug on the back of the unit. It's not difficult. After you lift the dash trim with the A/C vents above the head unit, there are three phillips screws on top of the head unit and 2 8mm phillips/bolt head screws underneath. After you remove these screws, the unit will pull right out.
I got one two years ago and still works great. Really great quality and its worth it. The only annoying thing is that I have to turn my Bluetooth off and then reconnect half the time when I start my car. Don’t have that issue with any other Bluetooth speaker with my phone.
I ordered this for my wife’s van December 2020 she unwrapped it and I installed it that day. The install went super easy with the youtube directions and it works great ! I highly recommend this for you and thanks for the great product.
@@jhvibes3471 actually a few times she has gotten in the car and the system will just beep. Can’t play music or do anything it just beeps when you turn it on
Worth every penny. 2004 Accord with Navi required a bit more to access the radio's back. Very doable and great results. I'm buying another for a different car.
This kit works really well for me. Anyone can do the installation. It was the first thing I got with my car in 2020, it’s still working now. I’m back on this video because I yanked too hard on the cord and it unplugged, so I had to plug it back in. However, if the cord gets loose you will get Siri activating for no reason which is really annoying
Great video, easy to follow step by step. Went flawlessly. Very nice sound quality and easy to configure. By the way, I found that needle nose pliers are helpful for getting the microphone cable from behind the rubber strip into the dash.
+Kelly Warner ....Was thinking of buying this item but was wondering if Apple software upgrades are an issue in time? Not sure if you use Apple or another device.
Fazal Dudha I think that as long as the upgrade supports standard Bluetooth communication, you should be in good shape. This thing was not at all finicky, very straightforward and felt rock solid. I use an Android S5 but that seems reasonable. Good luck!
I just purchased the GTA Pure Bluetooth Kit for my 2004 Honda Accord EX V6 2-door coupe. The connector on the radio already had a cable connected (presumably for XM), and needed to be removed (slid off towards the back of the radio), and the GTA kit cable installed in its place.
Honda 2005 V6 Manual transmission with XM radio. My only real issue was that my plug was in the back. There was not much room to maneuver back there so it took some patience with aid of a mirror to unplug the existing xm plug from the white port. The only thing that did not work was the XM radio was once it was unplugged. CD, radio worked fine. The harness that was sent to me plugged perfectly into the white port and it is a Y connection so one port fits into the GTA module and the other into the XM port that had been originally unplugged. I am able to play Bluetooth from my phone and able to increase volume, change songs from steering wheel control.
This was so helpful. I was ready to give up when I found the same until I found this comment, so thanks. I didn’t have a splitter, but the Bluetooth works perfectly (like in the video) I just no longer have access to XM, which I didn’t use anyway.
Thank you for saying this!! Haha I thought my radio was cursed because the plug was different. Going to go back out with a mirror and give it another go.
Great walkthrough and well produced. Many thanks for putting out such a great product! The same steps are valid for any bluetooth adapter; I'll get a GTA next time!
Thank You So Much Man. You're very detailed in your descriptions which is an AMAZING help. You are the only one that gave me the answer of how I can make my car Bluetooth officially without buying an car stereo and changing out everything. Big Thanks, Your AWESOME! A+++++ WORK
If that is an '03 Accord I will almost guarantee the backlight went out in the radio due to a fuse (R797) inside the radio, and the lights in the ventilation buttons, heated seat switch or moonroof buttons also. Honda had a known problem with the radio backlight but did not address it as a recall. They also had a class action lawsuit on either the '03 or '04 Accords, where the odometer would add miles to the car by itself while not moving. That was the first year of that model and it looks great but it is infested with problems. Wait for the drain holes to get clogged up for the moonroof. Not only the ones under the roof glass but the hoses where they exit behind the front tire wells. You can snake some weed eater line down from the top but you also have to remove the plastic wheel well and unclog the drains there also. Nice video tho.
This video does not represent the installation involved with Navi systems. You have to remove the AC and vent top dash to pull out the whole stereo and Navi unit. In addition, you have a separate wiring harness that you have to utilize so it just does not plug in so easy as is shown here. They really should make a video for the navi system because I had to figure it out on my own with no help. Having said that, it does work pretty good and the calls are clear.
Can I install it alone? Like just put the module in and tuck it without any auxiliary or USB cords? I basically only need the Bluetooth. hope to hear back! great video btw, very easy to follow.
Hello, I just bought my kit for a 2007 EXL with Navigation and 6 disc changer. Are the button selections the same for accessing BT and Aux? Are there any other big differences? TIA! Can't wait to install and enjoy BT connectivity.
I have an aftermarket head unit on my 05 Honda Accord LX and my mic was tucked in the driver center ac in that gap where the air channels out of (left one right above unit) because my ac was loud, so my ac would have to be off in order to answer calls. Best part about that location... it can't be seen and closer to your mouth so you can be heard better.
I am deciding between this kit, yumikoo and monet. this one costs about 5 times as much as the other two but I am willing to pay the extra price if the product is actually worth it. My questions are mainly regarding quality and durability : is there a grounding issue? I keep reading about the hissing noise in the comments. also, how does the kit hold up with time? some users are mentioning the 3.5 mm jack stopped working aftwr a few months.
Can you expound on the car's audio controls? The GTA website states that it won't skip tracks (from the car's controls) for streaming services. What about Apple Music - it's Apple's own music service but is capable of streaming music versus downloading it. And what about Amazon Music, which allows you to download albums for offline listening - would the car's controls work for that?
Thanks for posting this video. I'm leaning towards buying this product for my 2005 Accord but have a question. Instead of having to essentially leave the AUX and USD cord plugged into the module, behind the console, is there a way to cleanly/securely mount the module itself inside the console? That way, if you have to replace your AUX cord or USB, you don't have to dissasemble the entire console again to access the module? Anyone who has owned an iPhone for more than a year knows darn good and well that you have to replace the USB cords frequently due to the end fraying. Would some double-sided tape work well enough to mount the module in the console? The mic and and stereo connection would still need to go through a hole in the back of the console. I would also think having the module in the console, and not hidden inside the dash, would increase the quality of the bluetooth connection.
Hi. I have a 2006 Honda Accord (European model) and I would like to install a similar system in it. But my car is a little different in terms of features. My Accord has navigation and also it already has a bluetooth hands-free system, but sadly I don't really understand how to use it. You're supposed to configure it with voice control, but it never reacts to my commands related to the hands-free. Other basic commands it actually does react to. So basically I wanted to know if it is possible to use the in-built microphone from the car with this bluetooth kit in order to answer phone calls instead of wiring up a new one?
Is it possible to rename the kit so it shows up with a different name when being searched for by other bluetooth devices (just curious, once paired it would connect automatically anyway but still) ? Also is there a way to pause music via the steering wheel controls or radio unit or I can only pause from my phone itself ?
You guys should do one with the y splitter cable, XM Radio . I installed it but I'm not getting any signal it's not even charging my phone. I need instructions.
Holy cow.. bluetooth AND AUX at the same time?? This is amazing! Btw can I just insert a USB Male to USB Female cable inside so that I get a female USB on the outside? That way I can insert any charging cable and be able to swap between Lightning, Type-C, MicroUSB, etc.
For charging best to use a fused 12v socket in the car. Nowadays they provide double the power than our kit does. We cannot provide more charging power as we do not want anything to happen to the radio. thank you
@@gtacarkits in that case I can just not put a USB and AUX cable and only use the Bluetooth part & not have to drill holes in my little box :) Wanna buy a 7th Gen Accord as my first car this or next year and will definitely get this kit for it when I do!
Hey so where the connection is, instead of facing down towards the ground, mine was facing forward of the car and had something pluged in. I know thats the correct plug because i unplugged what ever was in there and connected the bluebtooth and now my bluetooth works but it seems that what i had to unplug was my CD player. Any advice to keep both bluetooth and cd player?
I tried a kit, not this one, but it had no gain on BT unless I cranked the phone all the way up. Then the phone calls were painfully loud. Is the gain on this consistent? Do you need to turn the phone up to stun?
Great video! I'm want to purchase the GTA bluetooth kit but I have a question first. My '07 Accord's cd player is currently giving me a "Mech Error" on the display and does not currently play any CD's (probably a CD jam). The GTA bluetooth kits works through the CDC mode of the radio/cd player so my question is will the bluetooth kit still work with my malfunctioning CD player?
Is there a version of this product with : 1) A Y-cable Don't want to lose CD player. Need to plug the foot of the Y into the back (AUX/CD) of the stereo, one leg of the Y to the GTA module, other leg of the Y to the present (CD) cable that is plugged in. 2) A module which displays song information from Android phone music player This has higher priority for me than the retaining CD player with Y cable.
Yes and no. You will not loose the CD player if you connect the device in the CD CHANGER port. You don't have an external cd changer, so you keep the radio functionally as well as the inbuilt cd player in the factory unit.
Any reason why after installing the Bluetooth radio that the radio is now all scrambled? It works but the display is overlapping other display messages. Any suggestions greatly appreciated. 2007 Honda Accord w/ XM no nav.
Nice kit, but I do have a gripe. It doesn't autoconnect to bluetooth like my old alpine bt stereo did. In other words, when I get in and start the car, music doesn't automatically play through my phone like it used to.
GTA company....is the plug on my stereo (6 disk changer.. with satellite stereo) >in the same spot? Someone said it was on the back of the stereo meaning I would have to remove the whole stereo to install your plug into my satellite plug..can you tell me if that is true...2003 LX sedan V6..thanks in advance..~Zack
I have a 2006 Accord EX V-6 with navigation. I'd like to be able to make and receive calls through the radio. I'm confused as to which kit I need to buy, the iPod iPhone or the Pure Bluetooth?
Again no you don't. Bluetooth is seperate. Should you wish to use AUX with another device OR the microphone to speak handsfree, the options work independently
Hi, the microphone is needed if you want to doBluetooth phone calls. If you just want to Music, you do not need to wire the microphone, that function will still work. Thank you.
If I in CD or FM mode and got incoming call, what will happaned ? Will I hear phone ring ? What should press to answer it??? only >> button ?? or should I get CDC first ??
The Wired kit with no bluetooth is $79.99usd (we also have a video for that kit on our channel). The Pure Bluetooth kit we demonstrate in this video is $119.99usd. Thank you.
I see a few other people have posted that they are experiencing a whining sound, but I didn't see any solutions. My audio is perfect in my right speakers, but have that sound in the left. Anyone successfully fix that issue?
Maybe the better question is this: if I'm mainly going to be using bluetooth, which GTA kit is better - the Pure Bluetooth Kit or the Bluetooth/iPhone/iPod/AUX kit?
Installed mine no problem. Works well but the steering wheel and radio buttons don't change the song like they are supposed to. I made sure this wasn't my phone causing the issue by using my Bluetooth speaker, which paused and changed the songs just fine. It was working but just stopped after a little while. Is there anything I can do to fix this?

I keep reading about the hissing noise in the comments. also, how does the kit hold up with time? some users are mentioning the 3.5 mm jack stopped working aftwr a few months.
Do you have to pair your phone each time you get into the car or does it remember your phone and auto connect ?
Looks like a white label kit from pure but it if you have stock then it's worth the extra cash!!
good job explaining how to install the mic up top
That would work. You have the drill the hole bigger to fit that white plug through.
This is the best kit
Just bought my kit but found out that my 2006 accord hybrid has the navigation system blocking where I'm suppose to plug in the kit. What do I do?
Thank you so much ❤
will it work on a 2005 lx Honda Accord?
You guys should do one with the y splitter cable, XM Radio . I installed it but I'm not getting any signal it's not even charging my phone. I need instructions.
Will this work on a stock radio with navi? Thanks you're good in explaining how to do it. Great video
update?
@@AngelMartinez-ow3qj they sell different products for cars with a navigation. if u go to the website, you can find it. it costs a little bit more
can you explain or provide a guide of how to do this on a model with sat navi? I have an Euro Honda Accord 2.2 diesel manual.
Holy cow.. bluetooth AND AUX at the same time??
Is there a version of this product with :
1) A Y-cable
Don't want to lose CD player.
Need to plug the foot of the Y into the back (AUX/CD) of the stereo, one leg of the Y to the GTA module, other leg of the Y to the present (CD) cable that is plugged in.
2) A module which displays song information from Android phone music player
This has higher priority for me than the retaining CD player with Y cable.
I’ve did the same thing but my Bluetooth is making sharp noise. Any help?
What is the exact kit that was installed in the video? Where can I order it, how much does it cost and how soon can I expect it's arrival?
check description
Wow! Awesome instructional video! Will this work on 2007 SE model?
Yes it will work on SE. Thank you.
hi when you buy the Bluetooth coming whit the all accesory is means with cable and everthing?
Does the same procedure applies for Honda Accord 3.0 V6 AT 2008 model.
Kindly reply .
Is there any extender that would would allow me to have this alongside radio?
You would need the Pure Bluetooth car kit. Thank you.
I need this for my Accord.
Do you have to use the auxiliary wire and USB charger port or its just a feat option?
Again no you don't. Bluetooth is seperate. Should you wish to use AUX with another device OR the microphone to speak handsfree, the options work independently
Do I really need the mic because I have an 06 and I just want my music lol
Hi, the microphone is needed if you want to doBluetooth phone calls. If you just want to Music, you do not need to wire the microphone, that function will still work. Thank you.
If I in CD or FM mode and got incoming call, what will happaned ? Will I hear phone ring ? What should press to answer it??? only >> button ?? or should I get CDC first ??
I can plug a regular flash drive up to the USB port to play music?
I doubt it
Do u guys use con-verse and can I find a wire harness at ur store , it's for 2010 Honda Accord exl
Thanks
I bit confused: on that linked www, is this video for Pure BT with Aux Option = $120? (or $79) ?
The Wired kit with no bluetooth is $79.99usd (we also have a video for that kit on our channel). The Pure Bluetooth kit we demonstrate in this video is $119.99usd. Thank you.
is there any static when playing audio
Do I have to install the microphone? Or can I use my phones mic when making a phone call. Thank you.
No you don't have to. You can use your phone mic and just listen through the stereo while answering calls separately.
Should put a grommet on the drilled hole the cables pass thru.
I was wondering if anybody has had ground loop interference or alternator whine using this kit? Thanks.
where I can buy it the Bluetooth?
Do you ship to the United States and how long does it take?
Will this kit work if you have a factory 6 disk changer?
Thats alot of work instead of just using a usb cord to plug the device in
That car does not have USB jacks
Lol I have a 2007 Honda I put a USB that attaches to the cigarette lighter
Hi, how do you add another device to the Bluetooth?
Do you have to use the aux cable or microphone
No.
I really need to know what that inner consoles name is because I have one but don't know how to use it
My stereo unit is broken it like turns on randomly and blasts max volume radio i was wondering if installing a unit like this might fix the problem
No, our unit will definitely not fix your radio issues. Thank you.
Thank you !!
do you have to install the microphone? i wont use it so i don’t really wanna install it
Hi, you do need to install it, if you want to use the Bluetooth Phone call functionality.
done! thank u so much!
I see a few other people have posted that they are experiencing a whining sound, but I didn't see any solutions. My audio is perfect in my right speakers, but have that sound in the left. Anyone successfully fix that issue?
where can i buy the Bluetooth kit? i have the Sam car 2005 honda accord
Hi Zach Ury,
Doe this kit includes complete Blue Tooth kit along with the microphone?
+Nagendra Kumar Mava yes, the microphone is included.
Thank you for your reply.
I think its your fuses. it not the accessories
is the sound perfect, no static or whining noises for you?
Is it possible to rename the bluetooth device to something besides GTA Car Kit?
Can I pause/play using the stereo controls and without touching my phone at all?
you won't be able to pause the music by a button, but if you switch to a different mode (like FM) the music will pause playing on your device.
Do I have to connect the auxiliary cable and charging cable for the accessory to work?
GTA Car Kits Please what's the name of the kits. How your look it up on Amazon
the kits are available directly from our website: w w w . gtacarkits . c o m
Unfortunately you cannot do that.
