    This is a 4K Laser TV, 4K UST, 4K Ultra Short Throw Projector. It does 4K 60hz HDR, HLG and has a fantastic image with a lot of calibration options. It isn't a native 4K, and competes with brands like XGIMI, JMGO, BENQ, HISENSE, SONY, SAMSUNG and more - however is a very bright and well made projector, ust, ultra short throw projector / laser tv!

    Love love love seeing this guy notice the change in UST projection technology from barely reviewing projectors at all and stating that "...they still aren't good enough to replace a TV..." to now, in 2023, finally noticing that this tech can replace TVs without issue and really provide a great experience! I really love how far modern projector technology has come since 2015 and am wowed at each new projector model release! You, sir, get a MASSIVE thumbs up from me. Such a great quality projector despite the old "Lincoln Continental" front grille, lol. Gonna research this UST and compare it to the AWOL 3500 since I am in the market to upgrade my projector this year! Going from long throw to short throw for the brightness benefits despite favoring long throw for it's minimalist look on the wall where the screen is mounted.

    You said you replaced your A6 because you wanted a ceiling mounted projector. I have my A6 ceiling mounted and love it, its the best! What i would very much appreciate would be a side by side rundown of the A6 & H6. I am very happy with my A6 esp after adjusting the color & brightness so that the ranges dont over extend the device's capabilities which is very easy to do. Got mine through a black friday special so Casiris sent me their 100 inch ALR as a very nice bonus. I spent some extra money having it professionally mounted and now its a really nice setup. I was curious what the weight of the H6 was compared to the A6 and if it still retains the mounting holes on the underside? Great, really great video!, so happy this company is finally getting more recognition. Thank you for the time and effort put in!

    • @BuildMontage
      @BuildMontage  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Sorry I missed this comment. I don't have the A6 any longer. I don't think it's a "replacement" for the A6. The A6 stands very well even now on it's own. I found it had a very natural colour reproduction after calibration. The H6 is also a really nice unit, but I'd not necessarily replace it just because its out with a new model. Casiris have done some great things and hopefully I'll get a chance to review more of their tech in the near future.

    • @cpoomail
      @cpoomail 9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@BuildMontage oh wow, yeah i agree the colors on the A6 are very nice. Basically i set all 6 to about 25. Its the brightness i wish was a bit better. Especially with some darker shot films its nice to be able to give the luminance a shot in the arm if needed! Could you possibly mention some short comings of the H6 to the A6? On paper they seem identical beyond the boost in ansi lumens, 5 watt gain in the speakers and the 3D out of the box .. but would be nice to hear it from someone with actual hands on time with both. Anyway, thanks for the reply and please keep making good content!

    I want to know how you get around the center channel issue. Did you have to place the projector on the floor? And how far from wall was the projector?

    • @BuildMontage
      @BuildMontage  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I've discussed this in many videos. I did have this as a dedicated UST setup and I had my speaker under the projector aimed up at the seated position which works really well.

  • @jon1913
    @jon1913 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

    Do you have a light meter? I would love to see what the actual ANSI lumen rating is. Most of the projectors I've tested come in at 25-50% of their stated brightness, though some of the higher end projectors have been closer to 100%.

    • @BuildMontage
      @BuildMontage  10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I have a calibration sensor which can read measurements from a screen. Even a bright projector will only measure around 120-150nits off the screen. It's a little more difficult to do with a UST vs a standard throw projector - but I've never measured "ansi lumens" from a projector - it's usually measured that way in controlled conditions directly at the light source - I haven't found an accurate way to do it because there are many factors that can affect the reading, such as ambient light, screen size, screen material and the sensor itself - which is why I often avoid giving measurements because it can open up a whole can of worms and influence people the wrong way. I see people give crazy readings for contrast and light and I know it's most likely due to their method of measuring, vs the actual true reading.

  • @LuisAlberto-obi1

    Hi Tony, thank you very much for another cool (and funny!) review. Based on what I've seen it seems this Casiris has similar performance to the JMGO N1 Ultra and the Hisense C1. I know I'm comparing UST with front throw but they seem similar (3laser, the brightness, the contrast). What are your thoughts about that? Thanks!!!!

    • @BuildMontage
      @BuildMontage  10 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      It’s hard to do an apples to apples comparison due to the differences between ust and standard throw. The first deciding factor should be your use case and how you intend to use it. Do you need a Center speaker? Do you use a sound bar? These types of questions should help you decide. Most of these projectors have the same dlp chip in them so you will experience similar performance. Ust projectors are generally brighter as they are close to the screen but the n1 ultra is very bright as well.

    • @BuildMontage
      @BuildMontage  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Sorry I don't have it in the setup any more. The truth is my setup with the windows kills every single projector I review. It's the angle of light coming from the side, washes it out - the screen looks grey so you will never see black until evening. My CLR Elitescreen did work really well but this newer one doesn't block as much which means a brighter image at night as well.

    do you think it's better than optoma p2? I have that and is the contrast ratio better to? Currently running optoma P2 on 150" in dark room, about to switch over to Optoma UHZ50 because of its native support for 150" which compare to p2, it's a bit brighter, sharper, and more focus. Looks impressive, but still no UST projector available that can zoom at the press of a button from 16:9 format to 21:9 and fill a cinemascope screen for movies. This is something higher end “normal throw” projectors from JVC, Epson and Sony can do. Really hoping USTs will add this capability someday. As long as they don’t, I can’t use them in my preferred setup.

    • @BuildMontage

      I agree this would be a fantastic option. The main reason is the optics are quite difficult from that angle - it amazes me that they can even get a square image from that angle, but a crop, or optical zoom would be sensational on a UST.

    • @BuildMontage
      @BuildMontage  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@biga8230 this is the issue I have answering this question is I get asked it with any random number of projectors and it's very difficult and subjective for me to answer it with any kind of certainty and also hard for me to keep my mental image in my mind as I move on to the next project. The Formovie is right up there at either 1 or 2. The Casiris A6 was my top pick prior to the H6. I think the Formovie has some advantages being it has Dolby Vision - but the H6 is very bright and has a great wide colour gammut as well so is very vibrant. I don't think you could go wrong with either. I know its a hard choice. Have you watched my Formovie review? Maybe watch it and then this one and you could draw some conclusions. My method is I review each product standalone as if it's the only choice - that is the fairest way - if I start comparing it would be never ending!

      Unfortunately due to my setup being in a mess, I couldn't hook up my PS4 to the setup to test, however, there is an ALLM mode for low latency gaming - my personal experience with these type of DLP laser projectors (which are all somewhat similar) is that it's great for casula games, not so much shooters, but car sims and the like work well. Competitive gaming I would recommend a TV.

      I have a JVC in my dedicated room with contrast of 26K:1 measured with my sensor after calibration - so i do know what great contrast is. Does this have that? No of course not, but from this distance to the screen, and with the technology they developed, I think the contrast and brightness was fantastic. My demos should show it - although Im not very good at recording off a screen - no matter how hard I try it doesn't show what you see in person - but for the price this is and what it produced I found it very impressive.
