Kraven was a guy who hunted for sport. I'm not really familiar with the details, but there was kind of some stuff with sorcery and potions to enhance his abilities, maybe depending on the comic run. He eventually went after Spider-Man, lost pretty badly, upped his game and became a pretty serious villain in pursuit of defeating him. People will probably explain the rest, it's kind of dark. He was in the 90s animated Spider-Man show. Might have been in others.
