Theory: I think the trailer is cut misleading. I think the character Calypso ( seen in the trailer) finds him after the lion attack. Using her mystic healing powers, gave him supernatural animals strength
I honestly have/had 2 theories. 1. Kraven is magic like In the comics but it's more of a curse or blessing that's in his bloodline and he has it opposed to his father and brother because it's either ancestral and u need to be recognized by your ancestors or the simple trauma of the attack and the blood is just a visual thing. 2. He drank the potions before this point because the witch gave them to him out of kindness (this is because when u look closely there's a death tarot card flash in his eye) and the blood either acted as a catalyst or the blood changed the potions effects.
Very plausible idea. Thank you for pointing this out. So many reactors miss that it's Calypso with Kraven later on. They just think she's a random black woman love interest or something?
Did you guys not see Calypso in the trailer? In the comics she gives him the potion for his super human powers so he can fight Spider-Man. They even show Rhino taking a serum at the end of the trailer
@@ClarusPolaris fair enough. Just so you know, that was the biggest Easter egg of the trailer. Had to react to the radioactive lion theory. 😂 Nothing but love for you guys, keep up the good work 🫶

@@Maratonkata It's not a Marvel Studios movie, but Kraven the Hunter is a Marvel Comics character, and which of the two had a Golden Age character called the Whizzer?
Kraven took a powerful magical potion conjured by Calypso, giving him superhuman strength, speed, stamina, agility, endurance, and reflexes. The potion also stunted his aging process and enhanced his senses
Kraven wouldn't have hesitated to kill the lion, he just wouldve dropped the shotgun and pulled out a knife to do it. The point of Kraven is he wants the challenge of the hunt, guns aren't in his arsenal often because they are too easy.
Kraven has always have animal powers. He got it from potions given to him by a witch. Currently in the comics he does have more powers and is arguably on the same level as Captain American.
Yeah Kraven in the comics was a Big game hunter and believes spider man is the ultimate trophy kill. He gets his powers by drinking potions from Jungle herbs. He is also the founder of Sinister Six.
Yep, after he successfully invaded the X-Men Mansion and defeated Beast there, he gave Beast the potion to make him more of a challenge, claiming defeating him had been too easy. Beast with the potion was able to defeat him, but it's also what caused him to grow the blue fur later. This was going to be explained more in the comics, but that particular series got cancelled before they could talk about it more than in the editor/letter-to-the-readers sections.
Kraven is a mutate in the comics and he can does have animal control. He doesn't age, has a healing factor is a strength level above Captain America. Calypso is in the trailer, she's the friend, she is the witch doctor that saves him and he becomes a mutate.
to be honest, many don't know about this one villain compared to the green goblin doc octopus and he really is a member of the Sinister six, I hope this film not disappointed.
Think of this movie as an origin story because as his story progresses he can become the villian that we get in the spiderman comics. Also when kraven was introduced in the spiderman comics we didn't know much about him; only that spiderman is formidable prey.
I hope at the end of Kraven's movie that we get hints for his appearance in a Spider-Man movie, although I do hope it's for the Andrew Garfield's Spider-Man. Andrew Garfield Spider-Man could finally be THE Spider-Man that could bring to our movie screens the live-action Sinister 6. Holland's universe tried doing it in the 1st movie with Scorpion & Vulture (but denied it in-movie from Toomes) & I don't think there's much villains left for the 6 in Maguire's universe. Andrew Garfield's universe laid down his 6 with the most hints from the Gentleman in his with Green Goblin & Rhino (plus Doc Ock & Vulture; as well as hints with Mysterio & Kraven). Sure the other 2 Spider-Men fought against aliens, but how would they feel if one of them had to fight against against a syndicate of all of his worst villains against him together!!!!!
Wouldn't it be cool if his father is the real Kraven and Aaron's character is killed by him at the end of the movie. That way when they make their Sin6 movie Kraven gets to be a legitimately threatening villain (played by a believability intimidating actor).
It's also a little weird because Russell Crowe was Dr. Jeckyll in Universal's new monsterverse which had a similar vibe to this new Sony live-action Spider-verse.

To the female reviewer's credit, yes, Kraven has mystic powers. In fact, he was the first supervillain to realize that Spider-Man's powers weren't just from the radioactive spider. He somehow knew that there was a mystic reason for his powers which got fully explained after Ezekiel and Morlun and Spider-Man's regeneration powers were revealed. The male reviewer doesn't know much about Kraven, because he's always been a shade of gray type character. You want to know why this doesn't work? Because Sony's Kraven is Marvel, but only in name, this is DC's Catman. His backstory is Catman almost beat for beat, right down to the father son psychological trauma, the hunting scene, and the line "just like your mom"/"weak like your mother" ripped right out of Catman's backstory. I am surprised DC isn't losing it's entire crap right now and they would be justified because this is not Sergei Kravinoff this is Thomas Blake. The reason why Sony's Marvel movies continue to be trash is because what they are presenting their audience with is DC wrapped in a Marvel package and it's not working, I haven't seen a Live Action Sony Marvel movie since the last Amazing Spider-Man. If this was done by Marvel it would have been so much better, not that Marvel always puts out Grade A material, but nothing they do is bad-bad, Marvel understands the spirit of the characters and their stories. Even their weakest movies still manage to capture the tone it's supposed to. So if you are curious about why this doesn't feel like Kraven it's because it's not.
Kraven was strong, enhanced sight and hearing, could smell and track like animals, high agility. Even without the potion he'd be Black Widow tier combatant. He went toe to toe to Spiderman in the comics. He's not quite as strong as him, but combined with strategy made him potentially more dangerous. But his powers originally came from a serum he took regularly. Looks like he's a mutant... now...??? If that is really his origin, this is ridiculous. Not a deal breaker, but its as dumb as the vampire bats giving powers. This looks more like setup to cross over with Spidey. Like what he's doing before deciding to hunt the all the most dangerous things on the planet including Spiderman. I don't know how much people are going to care... Love how Marvel/Disney is like... we'll help with Spidey, but you're on your own to screw up the rest of your stuff, to Sony. Probably hoping one day they'll have to sell because of all the failures. Don't think that will work as Spiderman is too good of a property to sell.
He has been a Mutate in the comics for a really long time. He is twice as strong as Captain America, he doesn't age and he can tame/control any animal.
Three things I don't like about this trailer or movie is that 1) He doesn't have a Russian accent 2) how he get his powers from a radioactive lion or lion's blood and he suppose to drink a potion made by Calypso the voodoo sorceress. 3) some of the dialogue sounds so cheesy.
For the record, I don't want to watch a movie about some deuchebag shooting lions, elephants and rhinos, or root for a character who does... my point is it's like making a Victor Zsasz movie, but instead of the serial killer your portraying to tell it about including the exact same name, look and origin story, you give Victor Zsasz super powers and make him a people lover instead of a people murderer.. it's just weird, and that's literally the exact same thing they're doing here with Kraven THE HUNTER
Hot take: This is gonna SUUUUUUUUUUCK. Like it will make Morbius seem awesome. Imagine Morbius without the cool vampire stuff but add a guy who gets off murdering lions... People love that right? Maybe their next movie will have their hero murder Harambi the Gorilla and get gorilla powers? This looks so dang bad... I wouldn't even watch it for free on Prime.
A good guy can be hyper violent like Wolverine Punisher before his character got canceled cause some racist adopted his symbol and cascaded his characters downfall. They know that some people are just irredimible no trauma or nothing just evil un empathetic thats why people like Jeffry Dahmer exist or exited not sure if he’s expired or not. Yeah I agree the fact he was a hyper fixated tactical hunter who for a long time was just a regular man is a more interesting.
After surviving watching CW's Gotham my brain instinctively goes into shut down mode whenever the studios exec BS overflows, only way to endure lateral moves like lionpires and Rhino DNA splicing. Sigh, IMO what makes Kraven interesting at base level is that he is human, on top form, and still able to beat Spider-Man using experience, strategy and a brutal ~ eventually yes, he uses psychotropics and mystic rituals to enhance his senses, and long after that he gains something akin a low level super soldier serum, there is a build up, and even then, fans appreciate going back to the basics that give him his name.
The whole premise of Kraven had to be changed. Think about it. Is Spiderman the hardest thing to hunt? Uh, I'd argue either Wolverine or Sabretooth are harder. Let alone Magneto or Apocalypse. Hell, Omega Red would be a damn problem. Just talking matchups for a semi super soldier plus Spiderman isnt as aggressive as anybody else named. They had to change his character. This works except for the fact he is essentially Vixen from DC. I'm down though, screw poachers. I'll show up to watch them get waxxed. On God.

Kraven = Morbius, but with more gore, since you can see that they insist a lot in the trailer on the fact that it will be a kind of "Logan" to make it look like it's going to be badass because they are tired of goofy Marvel trash..The guy will be indestructible, will always get away with it, no problem..Anyway, long live streaming online :)
From what I remember (from watching Spiderman the animated series), Kraven got his powers from herbs and potions and was a mercenary because he loved the hunt and took a job from Kingpin to get Spiderman. I feel like this was maybe a different script and it was just tweaked for Kraven. It should have just been a semi-original plot with "guy gets superpowers" but build it out. Was it a genetic/chosen one/bloodline thing, was it magical, was it situational? He is so charming, why not give us a The Mummy (1999)/Allen Quartermaine like movie with Aaron Taylor Johnson as the lead? Honestly, I am done with the Sony and DC superheroes, I would rather see the Dark Universe Monster movies brought back and wither make Aaron the monster or a lead character. Honestly, most people want to forget about the the Tom Cruise Mummy movie; it would be fine to start over without needing to completely reboot the "franchise". Better year, give us a simple concept franchise with great world building like John Wick/Jason Bourne. Give us a movie with solid writing, great actors, creative action without it looking nuts; how hard is it?
Kraven has been around since the 1960s, he's had multiple origin stories. Kraven currently is a mutate that is twice as strong as a super soldier and can tame/control any animal; He got his powers from a witchdoctor. He's probably saved by a witch doctor after the lion attack.

If you have ever had any doubt that studio execs do not know anything about movies or care about sourcematerial, here's proof. Let's make Kraven American, let's strip him of his personality and motivation, make him a loveable anti-hero instead of a murdering maniac. Oh yes, and lets make him Dr. Dolittle and Beastmaster as well. Kraven never had any special powers, just a serum with temporary effect.

@@jiffypoo5029 " But his powers originally" key word, originally.
that's awesome movies super villain be KRAVEN THE HUNTERS
Three things I don't like about this trailer or movie is that 1) He doesn't have a Russian accent 2) how he get his powers from a radioactive lion or lion's blood and he suppose to drink a potion made by Calypso the voodoo sorceress. 3) some of the dialogue sounds so cheesy.
Lion blood? They should have gotten Charlie Sheen
Lion man vs spider man.
You are prognosing his name wrong.
This is not Kraven the Hunter. I'll watch it because he's one of my favorite villain.
He doesn't have a russian accent
Certeza que o kraven vai entra pro sexteto cinistro onde já tem o abutre eo Morbius
On God.
It's Kraven-ing time!
Aaron taylor johnson is kraven the hunter
Russell crowe is kraven's father
Fred hechinger is the chameleon
Ariana debose is calypso
Alessandro nivola is rhino
Christopher abbott is the foreigner
Levi miller is young sergei kravinoff
Kraven = Morbius, but with more gore, since you can see that they insist a lot in the trailer on the fact that it will be a kind of "Logan" to make it look like it's going to be badass because they are tired of goofy Marvel trash..The guy will be indestructible, will always get away with it, no problem..Anyway, long live streaming online :)
Ofcourse it was a radioactive lion... Duhhhh..
Wow so much hate from speculation. 🤷🏽♂️
This is the red band lol
Says he knows kraven from coimcs but doesn't know kraven has superpowers also in the comics Morbias gets his power from vampire bats too he is a pseudo vampire tat is from comics they didn't make it up for movie God this reaction video is Irritating
I need to say that somewhere. That trailer was so stupid. I kinda love it, but not in a good way.
To be honest. Lets just be grateful we have a DC and MARVEL movies.
if it werent for them. we still have a gay woke film to satisfy a small community and black ariel. sorry but it is
If you have ever had any doubt that studio execs do not know anything about movies or care about sourcematerial, here's proof. Let's make Kraven American, let's strip him of his personality and motivation, make him a loveable anti-hero instead of a murdering maniac. Oh yes, and lets make him Dr. Dolittle and Beastmaster as well. Kraven never had any special powers, just a serum with temporary effect.
KGF CHAPTER 1 & 2 REACTION
whats more upsetting than only doing 1 of the trailers..... is you guys know you can have more than 1 pair of head phones right? :P
The best part of the trailer was when he said, “IT’S KRAVEN TIME.” I nearly lost my shit! 😮
Nice original comment 🤦♂️
I hated Venom.
The trailers for Venom 2 and Morbius looked so bad I didn't even bother.
Despite this amazing cast, I had no hope or hype for this film.
So I fully expected to hate this trailer, or at least be very underwhelmed.
But...damn, that actually looks like a lot of fun! Nothing super unique or original, but a good time while I enjoy some popcorn and yummy Ariana DuBose and ATJ eye candy. 😜
How is this “gaining powers from animals” that much different from Peter Parker getting bit by a spider? Come on. Gotta suspend your disbelief a bit with that sort of thing. 🤷🏻♂️
This looks so bad
Looks awesome, i think you guys are wrong!
