The two cent chicks have put this pan to the test Will GraniteRock fail or will it be the one they like best? The fried egg slid fine but ended up needing a poke And Cathy was right, she did not break the yolk The pancake looked well browned but as we could see Robyn's best kitchen dance moves still could not set it free While cutting the chicken, the pan did meet its match With only light pressure, the knife still left a scratch The cheese/chocolate cleanup sure did impress But the rice crispies treats still left quite a mess An easy rinse clean for the two TH-cam moms But grab it out of the oven and you may burn your palms All these pans boasting a new non-stick type Though good, none ever seem to live up to the hype
#1 it specifically says not to use metal utensils #2 you had the heat entirely too high #3 use good potholders every time you pull anything out of the oven This is not a review, this is buy a pan and ignore instructions then proceed to destroy. Disappointed
Two blonds discover that when you put something in the oven for a while, it's hot. I think they're right. Results of the test? They both agree it's a pan (14:00). I concur.
I have this pan and love it! Usually frying pans don't last at all and this one we have had for months and use it twice a day. We bought it for $8 at BJ's last year on clearance, it has been the best pan for the price.
You girls have certainly done a very good and thorough test of this Granite Rock Pan. I actually tried three times to buy this pan last night online. I filled out the form, I put in my bank information, my debit card information and answered all the questions, but my bank would not permit the transaction. I thought iit might be my browser "Firefox", so I tried it again using Internet Explorer,, but my bank still would not permit the transaction. So I tried again using my other debit card from my other bank, but the transaction would not go through. I have seen this advertisement on TV many times with a toll-free phone number, but I have always been in my recliner chair and I have never been able to write down the number to call before the advertisement was off the screen. So I decided I would try to do it online, but I was not successful. I will make every effort now to get the phone number and try and call in to buy ithis pan over the phone. I appreciate your review as it has assured me that this is a good pan.
Lady's here's a tip for you if you don't already know this one, put two tables spoons of baking soda & warm water in the pan. Let it sit 5-10 minutes to help clean the pan From being sticky . As for the pan cake I think you we're a little quick to judge it normally takes 1 minute for the first side & about 45 seconds on the other side of the pan cake. B4 being non-stick. Thank you lady's for the review.
$.02 Chicks Thank you for your review. I will not use metal utensils on any non stick pan even if manufacturer implies it is safe to do so only because I want my pan to last as long as it possibly can.
So glad you reviewed that pan. I saw those in the store and thought it was a very nice looking pan, and wanted one so bad. At the time, I didnt have the extra to buy one, and I did not need another pan. Next time I am in the market for a pan I am buying one of those for sure!!!
Your two are a hoot together. I don't care about the pan anymore because I was laughing at the antics from the both of of you. Great video ladies. 😊👍✌👋
That’s a pretty one. Yep the sharp objects is what ruins them. My husband ruins every frying pan I buy, I finally bought a cast iron one last week and told him if he ruins this one I would hit him on the head with it. 😂
Nice review, one of my favorite channels to watch. I've always been very confused about all these non-stick pans that are made for not needing oil or butter, but don't oil and especially butter add flavor and effect how whatever your cooking cooks? I don't think an egg cooked in nothing would taste like really anything since eggs or tasteless, you kind of need butter. Just always seemed silly to me. They all kind of seem like the same ceramic pan with different patterns and colors, as long as you take care of them and use them responsibly they'll be fine. This pan seems different in that it's textured which kind of raises the question about what it is exactly.
Great review ladies. I saw an infomercial the other night. For some kinda copper dutch oven thing that will replace a bunch of things in your kitchen. Although there math isnt adding up. It can cook a 8 pound ham but magicly you can cook a 15 pound turkey. You should find it and test it.
Notice in the commercial when they cut the steak in the pan, they are not going all the way down. They are moving the fork back and forth. So the knife doesn't seem to go all the way to the surface. Plus not sure if it wasn't pre-cut on the bottom to make that happen.
Pan clearly says "metal utensil safe" for all the comments on metal spatula, also safe to 500 degrees, I have a few of these and it is a pan that can take it. Nice review ladies, you too are so cute..'0
I've used metal everything on mine {knives, spoons, spatulas, forks,,, since they came out and still like new, I still add olive or ghee because I love them but don't feel I have too, keep up the good work ')@@2centchick
I’ve accidentally grabbed hot handles right out of the oven too😂Cast iron is the worst. Glad to see a few of those claims were true. Thanks for the review😃
I purchased the Granite Rock cookware for my ex-husband as a Christmas present. At the present, neither has used the cookware. I purchased it after learning of the product from a coworker. Every advertised "As Seen on TV" product doesn't live up to its name.
I use Granite Stone by Granite rock at. About Med-high and with great success. Once things cook on the bottom they release from the pan and turn very easily. Cleanup is a snap. Definitely my go to pan. Be realistic with it though. Use oil, plastic utensils and dont wash it hot. Help release eggs with a spat and wash with a soft pad. At $20 you can use and abuse it for two years and just replace it. GreAt post. Thanks
FINALLY....somebody knows how to cook eggs. Most other people keep screwing with the egg before it is time to, and wonder why it doesn't work. And then to compound things, they never preheat the pan.
Best part of each type of those pans is how each handle seems to be the same. Just they come out with, and try different 'Non-stick' coatings, and all commercials are the same.
I thought about buying it but got a Copper Chef and my gave me one of those looks when I came home with it but I got for me. It would seem that she uses it as much as I do or a little more. I still like to put butter in it but haven't any problems without it.
My mommy said I would make somebody a wonderful wife! I was in the USCG for six years before purchasing a similar product called the Stonedyne pan! It took a beating and kept on ticking for over ten years, before meeting its demise! I used everything down to a Coast Guard Cutter....Ha Ha! on the pan and found it still non stick till the very end! It was very durable....Not bullet proof though, but the coating was extremely tough and cookable with the use of metal objects! My baby Stonedyne pan is over 12 years and is still egg proof, and bacon and sausage capable as well!.....Nice demo! THANKS! I just got the 10 piece set for $71.00 on Ebay! I forgot to mention my purchasing skills! Whenever I go shopping at a Pawn Shop, or Ebay....It is Grand theft! I never pay full price! Yes! I am that good!
picked GraniteRock Pan up and it worked so well, that I went out and bought the larger GraniteRock Pan; these are the BEST non-stick pans that I have owned! :-)
I think a better test would be use it as normal 6-12 times (cook/wash) then do the "testing". My experience is that they all work well first few uses, then act like any other pan. I think it has to do with the "treatment" of the pan being new. Most non-stick pans I've used (in any price range), after a few uses, are no longer able to perform without oil/butter, will scratch using plastic utensils and when cleaned with 3M pads. The big question I have is when you see coating "worn/scratched" away...where did it go? Your food most likely. How safe is it to ingest these coatings even in small amounts? After trying roughly a dozen "non-stick" pans, I've just gone back to using a plain ol stainless steel non coated pan, using oil or butter. I just feel safer having a pan that may stick, be harder to clean vs ingesting God knows what.
Hey Ladies, I am going on 2 years with my Red Copper pan. It has been teriffic. But I will will putting the Granite Rock pan on my Christmas list this year. I'm Sold. I will have to agree with Robyn, That yolk should have been broken. I have never seen any egg get slammed down like that and not break the yolk. You seemed a bit angy at the egg Cathy. What did that little egg do to you ? Besides raise your cholesterol, Fat and protien intakes for the day. Only kidding, TOP NOTCH FLIP. If it were anyone else it would have splattered all over the stove. Thanks for the video, Great Job as always. Keep up the hard work. Have and Outstanding Day, Be safe.
@@2centchick The directions said to season and reseason every so often. So I do that every 3 months or so depending on the use. I can kinda tell when it should be reseasoned, gets unusual sticky. I try not to add anything but if I do It has been oil, butter and even used canola oil cooking spray at the lower temps. No problems with it. I let it cool before washing.
I prefer stainless and cast iron but I have a graniterock plus other non-stick pans when I don't want to clean a pan. I think the non-sticks are economical. Most of them can be had for $19.99 and serve me for years. I save time, water, dish soap, cooking oil, frustration and when a pan goes bad it can be replaced for about $20.00.
scrambled eggs will stick, but I had no trouble with pancakes. I put the heat on 5 and let the pan heat up, and they came right out with no oil, butter or cooking spray. When I make eggs I us cooking spray and the eggs come right out.
I feel your pain!!! I have done the same when put a pan in the oven! I pull it out with a mitt, but seconds later I automatically touch the handle! I finally learned and now put the handle inside the oven mitt as soon as I set it on the stovetop.
I just brought the GraniteRock pan because my friend told me she loves it. So I figure I would try it and the first thing I cooked was eggs and they did not slide off the pan. So I cooked another two eggs with butter spray and that work for me. The other thing I cook in this pan was bacon and it came out just the way I like it which is nicely crispy. I will try to cook some other food when I get a change but for right now I really like this pan and I am going to buy another one.
Good review but how could you possibly think you could grab a metal handle out of a 450 degree oven with your bare hand? It's a "stay cool" handle when it's not directly over or under a hot element. It just means that the it doesn't get hot when used under normal cooking conditions.
I picked up a members mark commercial skillet from Sam's that's rated at 500deg w/o the silicone handle and performed just as well as this one did for you. Even though this pan didn't totally live up to the commercials, it did really well!!!
Will it still be non-stick 6 months from now? Teflon is best for non stick, but not so good to have deposited into your food when it starts to flake off, as it will if not treated properly.
Thank you for another great review! Sadly, I bought some of the Blue Diamond pans last week (missed that review darn it) I'm going to buy one of these as it looks much better.. Wonderful job ladies as always!
You two are absolutely right.."it's a pan" I have never cooked without some oil or butter...and also who want to eat food that is fried DRY? So maybe I will go and buy a pan.. Thanks girls
...People who realize butter, fat, cholesterol eventually clog up your arteries and lead to heart disease, and the best way to roll-back the damage, or prevent the damage in the first place, is **not to use it** any more than absolutely necessary. So, if you can fry an egg, or make a pancake without it, why not prevent the inflammation / damage to your arteries???
Need to do one on Eurocast. They are also good with induction. More expensive lifetime warranty. No metal utensil's & wash it with soapy water dry it & then a quick easy season of it & fantastic pan. Use mine almost every day for about 9 months now. Easy cleanup. Did a grill cheese with no butter on youtube. I do not make good youtube videos do not have the right equipment.
Great review. I like mine a lot, but not any more than my 30 year-old T-Fal pieces. It's great that you can use this in the oven, but I always use cast iron for that.
ouch.... made me winch when you touched the handle! so sorry..... I started buying only stainless steel or cast iron cookware a few years ago. I buy a very large frying pan of some sort of non stick variety, then toss it in a couple of years when the coating seems to be not so good. they all seem to perform about the same for me. thanks for the review on this one... i may look for it when my current transit frying pan is finished. do you know if it comes in the huge sizes like the round skillets? i looked at bed bath and beyond yesterday but didn't see one of the large ones.
if you use clarified butter and use regular olive oil and not extra virgin you'll get a much higher smoke point making it much better and even ok for the pan
Commercial Cutting The Steak: If you watch very closely the knife never touches the pan. They are pulling the meat apart while cutting just to but not touching the pan's surface. Note the jagged edge of the steak and the pulling action.
got one of those nonstick green organic pans 3 years ago and it has a lifetime warranty on the pan but can't find the recipe, I even secned it like it said to do.
I just purchased this pan and I found that my eggs stick. I have seasoned it twice and it still sticks. It does clean up easy I will give it that but I am seriously considering a return on it. If anyone has suggestions I am open to hearing them.
Thankyou for this video gals! ...but I have this pan; and can honestly tell you, that if you do continue using metal with...it will scratch it up!!...mine got scratched pretty bad; and I had to throw it out (you should Never use a scratched up pan...it can release harmful pieces into your food). So for me personally, regardless of the type of pan I use (& regardless of the advertisements)...I Will Never Use Metal on my pans ever again. That's just me...can't afford to keep buying pans. Lol Have a great day! Keep up the reviews 💖
Yep, if you put things in the oven they get hot. Also, soap and metal utensils are usually a no for non-stick pans. I guess you were testing these things?
Hey ladies, another great review! I noticed y'all wearing a hoodie and a sweater, it's 82 in Fort Worth, Tx today but tomorrow a cold front is going to drop the high to a frigid 61! How about a review of The Original Comfy: Warm, Soft, Cozy Sherpa Blanket Sweatshirt, Seen on Shark Tank or Huggle Hoodie, Ultra Plush Blanket Hoodie ? They both look snuggly but heavy! Priced at $44.99 and $29.88 respectively, I wonder if they're worth the price. Actually I'm realizing that's a lot of money to spend to review the two but I thought y'all might find them quirky enough to check into. Keep the entertaining and informative reviews coming! Thanks for sharing.
Thank you! It was actually 75 here today, but several days ago when we did the review it was in the 50’s. I saw the Comfy at Bed Bath and Beyond the other day, we might review that. Thanks!
The texture is what allows metal utensils to be used. The utensil never hits the valleys in the pan so the nonstick stays in the valleys. At worse the metal would eventually wear down the peaks over a long period. The aluminum is not textured just the nonstick.
What's with the 62 minute commercial? No lie. I didn't want to skip it and have you not get the income. I put the Ipad in the drawer with the ad running and watched the video on my laptop. The ad is still running. I can hear it. Kathy, please stop using that scratched up pan and go get a new one. Once you scratch any of these things, the coating is eternally flaking off in your breakfast, if it isn't anyway. But the pan to watch I just saw on QVC Sunday. Geoff Zakaraian is a chef on the Food Network. He was debuting his cast iron pans with nonstick surface. These were not enameled. They look just like your regular cast iron. But they perform like nothing I ever saw. Another huckster with initials WP I saw on some other shopping channel was seen pouring oil into his pan when he thought the camera wasn't looking directly at him. Then he turned around and said "No Oil!". Yeah, okay, we already saw you cheating. But Geoff isn't like that. He used no oil and was flipping eggs like pancakes. These things sold out in 10 minutes. I wanted to see him cooking in the kitchen. But after they ran out they pulled him off. I was disappointed, but this is definitely a product to watch and a guy to watch. You can see it on the QVC TH-cam channel. Oh, your ad is still running.
This is how the ads work, you tube does those ones. "TH-cam support Ads you see on videos The ads you see while watching TH-cam videos are tailored to your interests and based on your Google Ad Settings, the videos you’ve viewed, and whether you're signed in or not. 62 minutes! 😳 That’s crazy! I think we still get something if you skip. But we appreciate you letting it play. 😀 That’s pretty funny about WP! Oh I didn’t think about it flaking off! 😳I’ll have to check out QVC for that pan. Thanks!
Directions on mine say "Use on low to medium heat", "metal utensils, however, no sharp objects", "before using...for the first time, wash with soap and water. Just saying. I haven't found a review that includes these, except for the pancake.
As far as I know, those ‘stone’ pans aren’t actually made of stone. The coatings of these ‘stone’ pans are actually good ol’ PTFE or ceramic sol-gel infused with stone particles (or whatever other elements the manufacturer claims the pans are made of)
Never take ANY pan off the burner and put it under a faucet. This temperature shock will warp the metal and soon the pan won't sit flat anymore. Which means it shouldn't be used on a glass range. It doesn't hurt the nonstick properties, ladies. I have learned that nonstick pans last if they are washed by hand and the burner never turned higher than medium heat. Always use wood or nylon tools despite the manufacturer claims. And a few drops of oil never hurts when cooking.
The commercial says you can so that is why we did that. I have other pans that have warped because of doing that, but I use this pan everyday and put the hot pan under the faucet and it has not warped at all. I’m not sure what is different about this pan that keeps that from happening. 🤷♀️ We appreciate you watching!
Quality, performance or promise are all relative to context and comparison. Failing to state the criteria and how to evaluate the results as well as the standards is a big red flag for bullshit.
The two cent chicks have put this pan to the test
Will GraniteRock fail or will it be the one they like best?
The fried egg slid fine but ended up needing a poke
And Cathy was right, she did not break the yolk
The pancake looked well browned but as we could see
Robyn's best kitchen dance moves still could not set it free
While cutting the chicken, the pan did meet its match
With only light pressure, the knife still left a scratch
The cheese/chocolate cleanup sure did impress
But the rice crispies treats still left quite a mess
An easy rinse clean for the two TH-cam moms
But grab it out of the oven and you may burn your palms
All these pans boasting a new non-stick type
Though good, none ever seem to live up to the hype
That’s right, I did not break the yolk! 😀

I feel your pain!!! I have done the same when put a pan in the oven! I pull it out with a mitt, but seconds later I automatically touch the handle! I finally learned and now put the handle inside the oven mitt as soon as I set it on the stovetop.
I can’t believe I did that right after Robyn did. 🤪
I use mine everyday and it works great with a little butter or oil.
Good review but how could you possibly think you could grab a metal handle out of a 450 degree oven with your bare hand? It's a "stay cool" handle when it's not directly over or under a hot element. It just means that the it doesn't get hot when used under normal cooking conditions.
Why would you use metal utensils on a nonstick pan?
I picked up a members mark commercial skillet from Sam's that's rated at 500deg w/o the silicone handle and performed just as well as this one did for you.
Even though this pan didn't totally live up to the commercials, it did really well!!!
Will it still be non-stick 6 months from now? Teflon is best for non stick, but not so good to have deposited into your food when it starts to flake off, as it will if not treated properly.
Thank you for another great review! Sadly, I bought some of the Blue Diamond pans last week (missed that review darn it)
I'm going to buy one of these as it looks much better.. Wonderful job ladies as always!
Thank you! Hopefully you can return the Blue Diamond and get the Graniterock. But if not like I said it’s a good pan as long as you use butter or oil.
You two are absolutely right.."it's a pan" I have never cooked without some oil or butter...and also who want to eat food that is fried DRY? So maybe I will go and buy a pan.. Thanks girls
You’re welcome!
...People who realize butter, fat, cholesterol eventually clog up your arteries and lead to heart disease, and the best way to roll-back the damage, or prevent the damage in the first place, is **not to use it** any more than absolutely necessary. So, if you can fry an egg, or make a pancake without it, why not prevent the inflammation / damage to your arteries???
They're all non-stick when they're new.
Freakin reviews has a 1 year later review. Spoiler, it held up lol
This pan is still nonstick when it's NOT new !
For health reasons one should never use a non-stick pan once its chipped.
Mmmm that last dish u 2 made n the oven looked yummy!! Nice post!!
😂😝 the smell was awful! Thanks!
Great review. I like mine a lot, but not any more than my 30 year-old T-Fal pieces. It's great that you can use this in the oven, but I always use cast iron for that.
T-Fal sucks I would have to replace them every year
Another great review, you both Rock. Sorry about the burnt hands. Great job ladies
Thanks! I guess we learned our lesson. 😩
Watching Robyn scratch your pan with that knife was so painful!!! I hope your hand is doing better
LOL sorry about that. Yes our hands our better, thank you! 😊
It's common sense to allow cookware to cool. If you dont your pans WILL warp. Even cast iron can warp this way.
ouch.... made me winch when you touched the handle! so sorry.....
I didn’t see any bigger ones at Bed Bath and Beyond either. I know they have bigger ones on their website.
Did u use oil before put the egg?
would like to know about the hot air fryers and the instant pot..how they measure up.thank you
If you buy the 5 or 10 piece you get lids, that makes the pans work better
Since when can you grab the metal handle of a pan that just came out of the oven?
I was uneasy with the metal spatula, then mortified when they barehand grabbed a fry pan that had been IN THE OVEN.
if you use clarified butter and use regular olive oil and not extra virgin you'll get a much higher smoke point making it much better and even ok for the pan
Thanks for the tip!
Awesome review! I think that I'm going to buy one soon.
Great review, but how did the hair smell ?
The hair was ok, no smell. 😀
Great review! Now I want this pan!!
Thanks!
Just love looking at you Ladies no matter what your testing etc.
Great review. I need to watch the blue and copper pan reviews you both did. 👍👍👍👍👍
Thanks!
Commercial Cutting The Steak: If you watch very closely the knife never touches the pan. They are pulling the meat apart while cutting just to but not touching the pan's surface. Note the jagged edge of the steak and the pulling action.
Review that expandable foam that sets deck posts. And really beat on it once it sets. I wanna see whether to use it.
ladies... I see this pan all over the city now. I’ll consider getting it depending on what you ladies say
Thanks ladies. Helped me completely
You’re welcome!
got one of those nonstick green organic pans 3 years ago and it has a lifetime warranty on the pan but can't find the recipe, I even secned it like it said to do.
I just purchased this pan and I found that my eggs stick. I have seasoned it twice and it still sticks. It does clean up easy I will give it that but I am seriously considering a return on it. If anyone has suggestions I am open to hearing them.
Wait for the pan to get hot enough, then put the eggs.
Lol
Have a great day!
Keep up the reviews 💖
I need to by one. Great video ladies! Love the hair Robyn. 👍
Sold:me on the pan; an honest:review is more effective than TV:trickery!
Yep, if you put things in the oven they get hot. Also, soap and metal utensils are usually a no for non-stick pans. I guess you were testing these things?
Why are u shaking it? It won't slide until it's cooked longer.
How is the pan since you've used it awhile?
I have been using it almost everyday and it still works great. I do use better or oil.
Thanks!
I do like the Square shape also
It does come in around too, but my Bed Bath and Beyond only had the square.
The texture is what allows metal utensils to be used. The utensil never hits the valleys in the pan so the nonstick stays in the valleys. At worse the metal would eventually wear down the peaks over a long period. The aluminum is not textured just the nonstick.
Great review.... I bought the Granite Rock pan and I LOVE IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thank you! I still use mine everyday!

62 minutes! 😳 That’s crazy! I think we still get something if you skip. But we appreciate you letting it play. 😀
That’s pretty funny about WP!
Oh I didn’t think about it flaking off! 😳I’ll have to check out QVC for that pan. Thanks!
They don't think about the ribits in the handle. They are too hard to clean especially eggs. Regardless of type of coated
Robyn I love your hair style, & the cut & colour of it.
Thank you! 😊 R-
Just started watching your channel have you or would you consider doing the Ninga foodie
I have this pan and love it!
How do you season a pan?
It’s been over a year, is there a follow-up video on the pan?
No follow up video, but I use the pan everyday. It’s a good pan but I always use butter.
Yall are cute together!! Im sold that's pretty impressive for a $20 pan
Thanks!
Well, I wondered! Thanks for doing this...hate that you both hurt yourselves😳🌷🚍
You’re welcome! You would think I would have learned after Robyn burned herself. 🤦♀️
Directions on mine say "Use on low to medium heat", "metal utensils, however, no sharp objects", "before using...for the first time, wash with soap and water. Just saying. I haven't found a review that includes these, except for the pancake.
Thanks ladies, please do a holiday party snacks cooking video like last year? I think 🤔
I don’t agree using a metal spatula to scrape the 🤐 out of your pans. But good review other than that.
Pretty Kool review I like the way the potlucks and it works so win win happy Halloween
I love them. Lol I love them they made this review pleasant to watch. I definitely want one now
Aww thanks!
Thanks for the great review! Loved it.
Thanks for watching!
As far as I know, those ‘stone’ pans aren’t actually made of stone. The coatings of these ‘stone’ pans are actually good ol’ PTFE or ceramic sol-gel infused with stone particles (or whatever other elements the manufacturer claims the pans are made of)
Just because it is PFOA free doesn't mean they didn't use PTFE to manufacture it...
It's cast iron pans and nothing else for me. :-)
Cast iron is good but I find I have to use cooking spray or oil. I'v had my pan for over 30 years
Never take ANY pan off the burner and put it under a faucet.
I enjoyed your video. Seems like a pretty good pan.
Can you use a medal spachala?
Yes
I wld season with a qck wipe of oil preferred peanut or veg. Peanut oil has a high smoke point veg is not to bad
Nice review wanna try that pan for banana chocolate chip 🥞
Im so fed up of the promise of durability only to have them fail continually so I toss and by more like an idiot 😖
Quality, performance or promise are all relative to context and comparison. Failing to state the criteria and how to evaluate the results as well as the standards is a big red flag for bullshit.
Now I want this pan and rice crispies treats
LOL I had not had rice crispy treats in a long time, they were so good.
