Nakaya is very smart, he was saving tires to keep in front of the Rx-7
OCD Stig he also knows to take inside first when cornering to prevent Tsuchiya from overtaking inside
None of these lads are rookies.. people seem to forget most of these are champions from many fields of racing
It's like real life GT ... I'm overdosing on these videos.

Cool! the GTO MR was making good times, just a bit off, I used to have a non MR version, those cars have huge brakes, shorter gearing, really great handling, a mis-understood mega car from Japan!

The Toyota Supra is overhyped, better cars are the Mazda MX 7 and also the Nissan GTR
Toyota Supra wasn’t a big seller at the time either. It wasn’t until after it was discontinued that it’s image as a great sports car was immortalized. The RX-7 was the best of this era. It was such a good time to be alive when these cars were all new.
You should see how people overhype the GT-R.
r33 deserves more love than it gets

in fact the R33 is the best GTR. The R34 is slower around the track yet it still gets more love. I don´t get it

The quarter mile in BM is just to showcase the car's performance while the circuit is where the car is driven to its fullest potential. Plus, BM is the only place where I can see FRs driven like race cars instead of drifting like the West do 24/7.

FR, not an AWD like the GTO and GT-R even though these 3 are the heaviest cars in the video.
Bro y is this so old but the camera work and commentary is so good...so many camera angles its perfect but now in 2020 things should be better and its not...id love to see modern gt3 races with coverage like this

Unbeatable car with good racing strategy are ultimate combination. Great job blocking the RX7. This is how you defend a car with good brakes. Block the inner section then use the acceleration advantage. The RX7 needs the inner to pass the GTR with a much higher G force at corner entry, unfortunately, the RX7 is bad at turnout acceleration (lack of grip). In ideal world, if RX7 can take the inner section of the turn, still doesn't mean it can take down the R33, if he picked the inner lane, he'll ended up going wider and the GTR can gain the spot at inner section with better acceleration but in real world, if the R33 let the RX7 pass, it'll force to give up the lane he chosen by the wide turn of RX7 or at least need to slow down to avoid hitting the tail of RX7. Great block R33! Not to mention the best lap of RX7 is just 0.2 second ahead R33. I bet the GTR have a better lap time than RX7 on L4.

The GTR blocked the RX7 on brake zone, blame the Mazda for only being good at braking :P
this is not entirely true and you make it seem like for r33 is some all mighty unbeatable car. At the end of the day these cars are so equally matched match that it comes down to power to weight ratio and most importantly suspension tuning with proper tires for the suspension settings.
GTR has no option as far as racing lines it must take the inside line just like the FF platform or else it will have severe understeer and gradually run off the track. The rx7 bronc
being a rwd car can choose a middle line,if will be risky but the rx7 can try to beating it on late braking and chose a middle/outer line and fight it out on the straight.
f2b.....f20bEG Yes the R33 will under steer at turn in because it weights more than the RX7 but you're wrong about turnout, the R33 is way faster at turnout, it's not an EVO or STi, the ETS in R33 allows the car to slide a bit then pull it off the slide meaning it have the ability to shorten its corner exit turning radius and have the AWD advantage during acceleration. Although RX7 have higher power to weight but won't pass the R33 because of later acceleration. I'm not sure how Nissan and Mazda tune their flagship but RX7 does have better braking therefor the R33 need to take inside to block but I don't think the RX7 can take outside because it doesn't have the traction to take inside lane at corner exit.
My point is, if the RX7 have such braking and turn in advantage, i should've pull further not just 0.6 second on Time Attack
Best race. Rx7 and gtr head to head. In a class of their own mid 90s. Maybe nsx can keep up

always stock gto on that show. only time when they use modified ones is N1 Puma GTO (wins against another N1 skylines and supra) and personal cars battle where Nakaya win Shelby cobra, Honda NSX.

The GTO MR despite being 3637 lbs (1649 kg), is the lightest GTO Twin Turbo model. The Supra, turbo model is 3450 lbs (1565 kg) while the base non-turbo is 3210 lbs (1456 kg). Just like the GT-R, the GTO has the AWD advantage over the Supra's FR, that's why it can haul its ass fast.

The FD3 is probably the best FR chassis out there, so well balanced, possibly could find one from a very modern car but then it'll be around half a ton heavier...

Just gives you an idea about what I mean. I left out the Js S2000 as that thing isn't a road car.. The rx7 runs 265 tires all round and the similar weight s2k runs 285 and 315. It's not comparable lol
Would LS swap throw the balance off? I see people in US swap the rotaries for pistons.

how does wheel size affect performance? the itr has 15"s where the others had 17"s. will an itr not have the power to handle the bigger wheels?
Ofc it has enough power and torque for bigger wheels not to mention it's light.My Civic FN2 has 18" standard,even coming with optional rage wheels 19".But the 15" and 16" wheels are light and make the ITR agile.
Do tire width affects the handling?

Supra driver sucked couldnt hold his line. The supra was on the ass of the GTR. GTR couldnt get away from the RWD supra. Wait so the RX-7 was modded ? It looked lowered and had an exhaust where the other cars were stock.
Supra is very good and capable on the track but that driver sucked. Good race
