NPF (socialist): 7M votes, 180 seats.
Macron's party: 6.6M votes, 159 seats.
RN ("far-right"): 10.1M votes, 142 seats.
Just like in the UK, the system is “the winner takes it all” which means that although Le Pen won more votes this disparity is the result of Macron and socialists conspiring against LePen. 200 candidates dropped in specific regions, coalescing their parties against RN

Which is why there is an electoral college, because democracy dictates only the largest voting group wins all the time. A Republic allows for the potential of the plethora of minority to win sometimes, so as to not cater to singular location belief structures, and force every other state under them. So when you say Democracy or a form of Democracy, you're literally just championing the complete opposite of the founding fathers reason for creating the electoral college and the fight for Independence.
