A few years ago a nearby country church offered cords of seasoned firewood including delivery. They had two little seniors un-stacking logs from the truck and re-stacking it into manageable stacks for me to carry smaller logs to the fireplace. I was so impressed with them that I made a brick fireplace card using all white textured irregularly formed boulders, white mantel and hearth with a white textured heart-shaped rug in front. The only colors I used were scraps of red, orange and deep yellow for the fire. It needed a wreath in the center of the mantel so I used tiny pieces of evergreen, twigs and pinecones from the backyard with burlap strings for the bow-I have the same burlap string ribbon as you use very often. I had only minimal supplies as a beginner card maker, didn’t know how to fashion a fireplace from white scraps and hadn’t ever thought of making a fireplace with no dies! So when I tossed some logs into the fire, poured a glass of red wine, inspiration just took over. The church ladies loved the card so much that several of them called to thank me for the “heartwarming card”. I hadn’t known you yet, but I think that it would’ve been Natasha-approved! *Edit-twine not burlap
I've just loved watching your channel grow over the years, Tash! You're so talented and such a sweet person. Thank you for sharing your creativity with us! ❤
What a great way to use white scraps, Natasha! I love how you show us ways to use what we have - even our scraps! And the easy way to make a thick, glossy “topper” (like a feather)!
Hi. Thank you for sharing this amazing card, simplicity combined with a stunning detail, such as your feather, look fabulous. Great colour combination. Have a lovely day.😊
Hi Natasha, Lovely card so simple and stunning. Your feather is like buttered toast … it always lands buttered side down. Lol. I love how the Happy Birthday fit in the bricks perfectly. The glossy feather was gorgeous. There are so many colour combinations that would work so well, pink/purple, lime/pink, blue/purple, red/ pink, red /purple and all of these and so many more in various shades, lights and darks, the possibilities are endless. I can’t wait to see what’s coming next. Much love to the four of you. Heaps of hugs to all of you and special hi to the little hands ( both sets!) so glad to see that you are feeling better. Stay healthy. Love from Australia. ❤️❤️🐨❤️❤️🙌👐
Because of the size cards i make I have loads of 2 inch strips that i make into bookmarks. I never thought to cut the strips further and make bricks. I love your creative ideas. I also never thought of layering embossing powder. Your feather looks like glass. Just beautiful.
Wow! That’s such a clever way to use scraps! You’ve certainly given me food for thought 😊 And that feather is something else. Definitely a quicker way to add shine without having to wait for things like Glossy Accents to dry. Thanks for sharing an amazing card! 😊❤
“And the Fantastic Techniques Award goes to, Natasha Foote!!!!” 👏 👏 👏👏 - your use of scraps & transforming a single stamped image into a near-real glass feather are amazing!! Love learning from you & seeing your talent in action!! 🙂😊🙂😊
This brick idea is great and that feather is beautiful. You may have dropped it, but with my luck I would have dropped it face down and it would have stuck there and had to be scraped off the table. So you got off easy .☺ You always have great ideas Natasha.
Love the feather it is very shiny and great color. You never fail to amaze me, I also have many small strips of left over card stock I don't like to discard those peaces and thank you for this great idea Natasha
I never want to toss anything out, so these are wonderful ideas to use up scraps, and create new cards, all in one step! This feather tickles me! LOLOL 💜😅💜😅💜 °Bets°

Bricks! What a Great idea! I love using my white strips up and this idea is new to me!! Your feather is beautiful... I forgot about the glass technique! Fun fun!!
This is fabulous. I use tweeters now because of many dropped , face down embossed things. I seem to be able to keep a better handle on things when I do that. This turned out so beautiful, thank you for sharing.
Natasha , I love this card idea. My youngest granddaughter will be 10 on July 1st . Going to paint a pig ( they show pigs), and apply your idea ! Wish me luck ❣️
