Fishing a CRYSTAL CLEAR Arizona River! (Bass and Trout fishing)

  • Well, google maps did NOT let me down on this trip! For sure one of the most beautiful places that I have fished. It was funny because I thought I was going to be fishing for Crappie and Walleye. It's very possible those fish could have been in this body of water, but after spending a short amount of time on this stretch of river it became apparent I was going to be Bass fishing and Trout fishing. I hope you enjoy the video!

Had a very similar experience last year. Was on a family vacation in Scottsdale (from Chicago) and had an afternoon to kill so I went to walmart and bought a cheap rod and some spinners. Then I drove an about an hour to a spot on the salt that I had found online. Didn't have very high expectations but it ended up being absolutely beautiful and I caught a ton of rainbows. One of my favorite fishing experiences ever. It sounds crazy but I would go back to AZ just for the fishing.

Beeline Highway Out of Mesa Arizona east of Phoenix , Salt River is a tail water trout fishery. Upstream its headwaters are a native trout fishery and Small Pugh in the Middle Black river in the Pines of the White Mountain Apache Reservation. So fish in Salt River in Winter. Though it’s cold enough for trout year round in the summer Thousands tube and boat Salt River

I just look for skinny 6.5-7ft rods, and I like when they have a lot of very small lien guides. I’m hard on my stuff, so I don’t but very expensive rods and reels. It hurts less when they break lol

You either don't know how to fish or just don't know our lakes. We have huge lm bass here. 10 to 15 pounders are caught quite often. We have HUGE sunfish. I myself caught one in Saguaro Lake that was bigger than a dinner plate. Monster flathead catfish, crappie, white bass, striped bass, trout , walleye, pike, etc. They're here. LTF. BTW, if you happen to learn anything and decide to fish the confluence of the White and Black rivers where they become the Salt River for smallmouth bass, be ready to pay a fish tax to the bears. While you're wading in the water fishing, as you should, there's a good chance at least one will show up and wait.
