    Thank you for taking the time to make this video and post it. The information was very helpful and I got the power washer up and running. The gas had dried up and left deposits in the jets. My local repair shop wanted at least a hundred dollars and is backed up three weeks to repair so this was very helpful to me!

    Thanks so much for creating this video. I followed every step and was able to get my 2500 psi washer working like a champ. Prior to cleaning the carb the motor would only work on full choke

    Thank you for this video. This wife here made it start again. Only problem I had was leaking gas after reconstruction. Just needed a new seal! It fired up! 👏👏👏

    This was a big help, thank you for posting it. Especially thank you for the link to the new carburetor and acid. I bought a new carburetor and intend to clean the old one. That way I will always have a working carb for quick switch out.

    Thanks for the video. I've got the same model and it will start when I spray carb cleaner in it and then shut off. I knew it had to be fuel related and your video confirmed it. I'm going to do the carb cleanup this weeekend.

      @@smallengineguys I just wanted to let you know that I tried cleaning my carburetor 3 times and I still couldn't get it to fire up so I said to heck with it and bought the new carburetor from your link. Just got it today, installed in and it fired right up. Thanks again for the great video and the Amazon link. Best $22 I ever spent.

    Thank you this is actually what I have to do, this might seem silly when you turned the switch on to test it which is the on position the one with the / or the one with the 0 , on the side of the pressure washer??

    The acid is a dilute solution of nitric acid. Vinegar (acetic acid) works just as well, need to leave longer.

      i use the cheapest brake cleaner or carb cleaner from your local parts store. make sure it isn't chlorinated that stuff sucks

    Thank you. I have the same pressure washer. I bought it used. For 25$. It had water in the oil from a bad pump I think. I drain the oil twice. Going to fill up again and drain. Will the engine be ok. Or is the engine no good now. Dont want to buy the pump if the engine is no good. The engine does run. Just Surges. Should I just buy the carburetor and pump. Thank you.       engine is fine clean carb or buy new one replace pump you got a good machine.

    Hey man! Great video, so I have this exact model and followed everything in the video minus the acid, cause it’s not here, and need to know what kind of oil to use. I cannot get the thing to crank at all.

      10w30. Spray some carb cleaner in the carb. Try starting. Does it fire up and shut off?

      @@rdcraig777 ok so check spark and compression. If you have spark i bet compression is off. Could be something wrong with the valves. Pull valve cover. Do you see anything out of place? If no spark you may need new coil.

    I have this same Generac power washer. Out of the box it wasn't working. I did following the directions for start up. Drained the factory oil and added the supplied oil. The engine is running rough and really bogs down when trigger is pulled. Pressure is pretty weak. It died after about 15 min and the spark plug is WAY fuel fouled. Any suggestions on what to do? I'm about an hour away from the closest warranty provider.

      Clean out the carb. Pay close atention to the needle valve. Sounds like debrie is trapped under it. Worst case scenario buy a new carb. Link is in the description. Warranty places are usually months behind.

      @@smallengineguys update, sometime in shipping it may have been turned upside down. Air filter seems to be completely oil soaked not allowing any air intake. I'm ashamed I didn't notice this but the man I paid to fix it had experience with it. Now I have to find an air filter.

      soak it in diesel and try again. other than that its new carb time.

      @@smallengineguys I soaked it in carb cleaner for a few minutes and was able to wiggle it out. The needle and jet were corroded. I pulled and cleaned them. Fired right up! First pull

    I have fuel and oil mixture coming from the crank case ventilation hose going into the air box causing it to flood and shut off. What could be causing this?

      The carb leaked gas into the cylinder past the rings overfilling the oil. Clean carb change oil.

      Wite vinegar and nuts or short bolts. Shake it around. Vinegar kills rust nuts nock it off then get it all out blow out with air coat with 2 cycle oil.

      Thanks so much! If I can see the spots on the inside of the tank where the rust is starting, is it possible to coat/cover them to prevent further corrosion (some kind of paint or sealant) or just do the oil coat? Thanks again!

      @@KGrant-ty3oy i use an exspensive coating. Just out of town. Its in my channel. Look up gas tank sealer. It should pop up.

      I just took apart my generac 4200 air filter/ carburetor. Basically built exactly the same. The video helped. Carb looked clean so I’m going to change oil and put fresh gas

      no it goes to the governor arm. same as throttle rod.

      it is your needle valve. you must clean the carb the needle valve is stuck open. its under the float. or new carb is in the description thats the easiest way. make sure to change oil when done before starting.

      clogged air filter? dirty plug? gas in the oil over filling it? carb needs to be cleaned again? it happens to me all the time.

      Ive never seen one sold separate online. However go to your local shop they may have one laying around. I have some. Same as a 5.5 honda.

    Mine loses pressure. Not constant but if I pull the trigger on the wand it still spray with force. However, if I keept the trigger pulled it loses pressure and just squirts water. Is that an unloader valve issue?

    Ethanol free is usually high octane . Whats up with not using high octane ?

      high octane still contains ethanol. it also goes bad faster than low octane. non ethanol fuel is rec 90 most commonly

      also make sure fuel is flowing out of the tank well. did you clean tank? didnt forget any gaskets? sometimes you have to just replace the carb. carb fuel lines gaskets

      I cleaned the carb again and now it runs great until I start pressure washing, the power goes up and down like it wants to shutdown and if I stop pulling the trigger after a few seconds it smooths out and runs fine but if I start washing again it does the same thing, Rundgren just idling
