I have a jdr-94 in black that i bought from Rick the bass player from Joe Walshes band . I just picked up a black jsx today! Love these old japanese jacksons
I got one of those about 2 years ago. Cost me £100. It looks very different today. Took the paint off it and stripped out the electronics and it now just has a SD Custom Custom and a volume. It's one of the best guitars I've ever had. I've had Gibson's, MIJ ibanez, US Fenders and Charvels, to play it's just as good as anything. I could do with replacing the trem but that's the only niggle
Thanks for watching our channel! Yeah, obviously this guitar is a bit of sleeper... will also be working on the tremolo myself and may even make a video about that. Take care!
@@FuzzywallzMastering I found your video by googling if I could put an OG Floyd Rose in JSX-94... I'm looking forward to your video on that! I know that I can make it work if it doesn't fit perfectly but I'm interested in other people's experience with it... It really is a great guitar! I got mine as a Christmas gift back in 1994 and I've had great luck w/ the licensed trem that it came with...but I think it's time to finally give this gem the upgrade! (brass block too of course : )
@@stevelibby3 Hey Steven, thanks for watching! If you haven't already go ahead and subscribe too. That guitar is like 3rd in line to get modded by one of two local techs here, so it might be a while, buuut Jon is very excited to see how it goes and can report that back!
I just took my JDX-94 (same guitar but hardtail) to the tech to Overhaul the electronics, put in Dimarzio Fortitude, Chopper, and ProTrack and have the coils split. I’ve had this thing since I was 14, and honesty, as much neglect as I’ve put her through, it’s still the most comfortable guitar I’ve ever played. I can’t wait until she get backs from the technician!
Thanks for watching! We love hearing stories like this, let us know how those mods turn out. Sounds like you got a good one and it is only getting better! Don't forget to subscribe if you haven't yet.
Hey man! I’m a nerd for these short run Jackson’s, could you give me as much info as you can on those JDX’s? I have a JSX and would love to know more about this short run concept series. How many were produced?
Got one brand new in 1994, cost me about 600€, changed pickups to Dimarzio X2N, Fast track 1 and Chopper. Will never sell it. Bought a JDR-94 a few years ago for 130€, also a nice guitar.
This was the first guitar I ever bought with my own money. Dark metallic blue $600 new at guitar center. Total POS!! I nearly ripped the trem off with the first dive bomb. Luckily I sold it to some sucker a few years later
I love this guitar , her sound . It's awesome .
We do too! Thanks for checking out our channel. Don’t forget to subscribe, new videos are always in the works!
Got mine in 98. First good guitar... have it till today. Red wine finish.
