      @danotto8970 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yeah I think he expands on ideas and concepts from Lucas while still leaving tons of questions. That’s a difficult task to do. But the only way to be successful in adding to the story. If you disagree I’d love to know how you add to the story and lore without expanding it and also leaving more questions for the audience. The mortis and world between world arcs leave a lot of questions (IMO).

    • @smutserkling6848

      @@danotto8970 I wouldn't add anything new about the force, I would keep it OG mystical. And the world between worlds is just a fancy version of time travel. And time travel is NEVER a good idea for a show that isn't supposed to be goofy and where the story isn't as important. Time travel makes every decision, death and event absolutely meaningless.
      I also don't consider Mortis or those silly father, daughter and son characters cannon. Why? Because it ruins the mystic of the force. The original jedi considered both the dark and the light to be of the same "being" if you will.
      Remember when the force was almost philosophical, some mysterious force that seemed to have some sort of intention or purpose greater than us in the world. Not a stupid fight between teenaged siblings and their single dad. Also if these characters are cannon, Abeloth is also cannon right? How is it that the portrayal of THE darkside being this stupid teenagelike character is far less horrifying than Abeloth?
      That's like saying that a man can be more horrifying than the devil himself if you were a christian.
      Instead of trying to add to the story, why don't they flesh out the already existing one? There's so many good characters in Star Wars that we've yet to see. Which there is PLENTY of material for already. Life of a younger Thrawn, The Chiss Ascendency, The Grysks, Bane, Banes apprentice, Revan, all the Sith Lords up to order 66, the first force users. Hell I could write you an entire essay of good material that already exists, that does nothing more than to add to the already existing story. Hell you can even make new characters "in the past" that made huge impacts on the "main story".
      All I want is for them to stop making changes that makes the original story "less."

  • @lifevest1

    When it comes to portraying interacting with a dead relative or friend in a dream, I don't think I've seen a scene more perfect than this. They are ghostly and otherworldly in appearance, but still very human. They resemble themselves as you remember, but there is something different from their physical bodies. Most important, they don't interact with you as you would normally alive. Your disbelief in seeing them in the flesh again almost makes you question your sanity. They either keep their distance or remain very silent only somewhat talking to you as if it takes a lot of energy to communicate beyond the grave.

    If u watch the last ep of Asoka the symbols when they opened the map are like the wolves Ezra saw when opening the world between worlds. Great video. Only nitpick I have is that Filoni explained it’s not time travel. He likens it to like a library where you can see timelines specific to yourself, to gain knowledge and wisdom.
    He says when Ezra pulled Ahsoka in, it didn’t change her fate, or the galaxy’s timeline; it didn’t disrupt the timeline - but that he didn’t understand that and he tied to pull Kanan in thinking he could save him.
    Ezra can’t go into a portal. He was able to pull Ahsoka in, but he couldn’t go to Malachor. And she knew she shouldn’t go to Ezra’s entrance.
    So the most one could do would be to see the future and try to prevent it by going back to the current timeline.
    But you can’t go back into the past to change anything.

    Here’s how I think the next episode SHOULD go:
    Anakin and Ahsoka talk about their adventures, and Anakin reveals to her how he and Skoll know each other. After that, Ahsoka talks about how she regrets not saving him and not being there. Anakin pauses. “Come with me. Let me show you something.” He takes her to a portal where we see him killing the last of the Separatist leaders on Mustafar. Anakin pushes her in and closes the portal. The dark side Anakin is at first overjoyed to see her, but when she tries to convince him to stop, it evolves into an argument about how she left him. At a time of him overcome by darkness, it becomes this (and make sure you grab a tissue, because it’s about to get emotional): Anakin: “Ahsoka. Why did you leave? Where were you when I needed you?” Ahsoka: “I made a choice. I couldn’t stay.” Anakin: “…It was SELFISH. What you did.” (Crying) “N-no…” “You abandoned me! You FAILED me!” His Sith eyes dim, turning into his natural blue, and as he ignites his lightsaber, we see his face clearly, a tear rolling down his cheek. “Do you know what I’ve become?” With a final defiant “NO”, a fight ensues as Anakin tries to kill her, Ahsoka crying the whole time, begging him to stop, saying EVERYTHING she wanted to say, but Anakin doesn’t say a word. Finally, at the end of it:
    Ahsoka: “I’ll never leave you again! I promise!” Anakin, who was preparing to cut her down, slowly lowers his lightsaber. His robe flowed with the planet’s heat. The only noise there was were the waves of the lava. But to them, it was complete silence, as though in the vacuum of space. Anakin looks away, a final tear rolling down his cheek. He looks back down at Ahsoka. And with a blink of his eyes, the worst happens: Anakin: (His eyes returning to Sith yellow) “Then you will DIE.” He lifts his lightsaber up, and just before he cuts her down, Anakin from the World Between Worlds pulls her through. When she recovers, she drops to her hands and knees, and begins sobbing. Anakin gets down on one knee, and hugs her. Anakin: (Smiling softly) “It was NEVER your fault, Snips.”

    The World Between Worlds is a great idea and I love it but yeah it could definitely cause some issues. That said, I don't think any proper Jedi would go about changing the past, looking into possible futures sure because they do that all the time anyway just not to that scale and magnitude. But I do think the World Between Worlds could be used to set up some interesting work arounds. For instance no need to travel through Hyperspace just walk around until you find a door that opens to Sabine or Erza wherever they are.

    • @rafiki1017
      @rafiki1017 ปีที่แล้ว

      It CANNOT cause issues because it is impossible to change the timeline with it. How do none of you understand this? Probably just because you take Theory’s word for it, but he’s wrong. It’s literally a PARADOX, meaning you CANNOT change the timeline. Ahsoka ALWAYS survived the fight with Vader because Ezra ALWAYS saved her. I think you kind of mis-understood the WBW's. It doesn't allow you to mess with time unless that is destined to happen. So think of it like this; Ezra was able to save Ahsoka because that had already happened. So you can't go back in time and kill Luke for example before he is meant to die and because he doesn't die from someone stabbing him through a portal, you can't do that from the WBW.
    But as an example we do not fully see how the Palpatine dies outside of dropping and seeing an explosion, so in that instance there could be a moment where someone pulls Palpatine into the WBW and shoots something to make that explosion happen. That, if yo uthink about it would be the ONLY real way for Palpatine to have survived the explosion.

    I haven't seen anyone say this, and I think it's very crucial. The World Between Worlds will only show you what it wants you to see, so it cannot be meddled with. You can't just open a portal to an exact time and control it, it will only show you what the force allows. The force will guide you through the WBW in the same way it dictates every event.

    I really enjoyed your video discussing Ahsoka's Fall. I have my own theory, which is that her final trial will be similar to Kanan's. The Force will compel her to confront her former master in his true form, forcing her to confront and ultimately let go of the attachment and grief she still carries with her. I also believe there's a possibility that we might see Anakin knighting her during this ordeal.

    I don't know enough to really make a big inference here, but I wanna know your perspective on this. Is it possible that Dave could use the Clone Wars -> Rebels -> Mandalorian/Ahsoka setup to create a separate timeline? One where *technically* 7-8-9 still exists, but in its own bubble. Can they can create (or alter) a whole new timeline with the stories they've setup? Cal Kestis, Ahsoka, Mando, Grogu, etc.
    Just curious, since this would be an easy way to either alter the past or create a new timeline. Everything could happen everywhere all at once. So, the events of 7-8-9 can *exist* but we could tell a new story with a different ending in the same setting. It doesn't devalue events, since they'd still exist and happen, but we're able to delve into the idea of balance.
    There are timelines where the Force creates balance (or "wins"), and there are timelines where the Dark Side creates balance (or "wins"). I'm not super fond of the idea of time travel to alter the "main timeline" but I do enjoy the idea of "everything, everywhere, all at once" to tell multiple stories so we aren't shoehorned by specific creative mistakes along the way. I could be misinterpreting things here, as I'm no expert, but I do enjoy the idea.

      If they were going to create a different timeline they would've said so during Star Wars Celebration. They had that big graphic of all the eras. Mando verse is the New Republic era and it's followed by the First Order era(the sequels), and that goes into Rey's New Jedi Order era.

However, I really enjoy time loop movies where the main character is forced to investigate and fix the "problem" in the plot, or else they will keep looping through time forever. It's an energy field created by all living things. It surrounds us and penetrates us. It binds the galaxy together". Is it really the Dark Side that the Son is meant to represent? Or is it Darkness? Remember, the Son represents one side of the balance, he was needed as a counterpart to his sister and vice versa. Although the Son became a Dark Sider I woulnd't say that necessarily means he was evil from the beginning. Even at the end he still had more Love in him than Palpatine.
    The Dark side is Evil itself but darkness, shadow, destruction and death are not necessarily bound to the Dark Side as these things are neither good or evil but essential aspects of the universe.
    Darkness is needed to keep the balance intact while the Dark Side is all about disturbing the balance.
    So, maybe, as suggested by The Clone Wars itself, maybe the Son originally was a rather good guy.

    what is the reflection after they come out of the portal? It looks like a couple purge troopers and someone else...

  • @ExecutorGCW
    @ExecutorGCW ปีที่แล้ว

    I am hoping we will broaden our knowledge regarding this realm in Episode 5 of Ahsoka, if not later in the series. Dave has evidently been planning to incorporate this realm into the Star Wars universe for many years and its introduction is clearly expanding on George Lucas' vision for Star Wars.
    We are actually first unknowingly introduced to this realm in Rebels' S1E10 where Ezra obtains a kyber crystal. And as far as I'm aware, visitors to this realm are unable to simply open a portal and walk through it. This means they cannot simply conjure moments in time and access them by their own free will. In Ezra's case, the moments that do appear involve events that are significant to him, and closely connected persons. This is why he sees Kanan on Lothal and Ahsoka on Malachor. Nor do visitors seem to possess an ability to alter a timeline. This would probably be considered time travel, which is what Filoni has said the WBW is not really about. Instead he claims it's about knowledge, perhaps like a library. Containing every moment in time that has ever happened and ever will happen. I'm not sure if that means a person can directly intervene via a portal because that's exactly what it seems like, but perhaps instead visiting these moments enables a person to influence the universe to achieve their own goals regardless if they know certain events have/will happen.
    The thing is, Ezra pulling Ahsoka through his portal into this realm didn't appear to significantly alter the timeline. In both instances, she survived Malachor. I say this because she didn't die in Rebels' S2E22 originally. Despite Kanan and Ezra thinking she perished on Malachor, she is shown as having survived and leaving the site at the end of the episode, and clearly not in the World Between Worlds either. Moreover, we are told by Filoni during a previous interview that Ahsoka had to leave the WBW when Ezra 'saves' her through the same portal she entered into the realm with, which would return her to that moment with Vader on Malachor. She could not leave the WBW through another portal without destroying the natural balance of the universe, and she seemed to know that.
    However, we do know that Ahsoka died in the Mortis realm during TCW. Despite Anakin, Obi-Wan and Ahsoka having no recollection of their time on Mortis, Ahsoka was killed by the Son and resurrected by Anakin and the Father by using the Daughter's life essence, which is presumably why Morai has been following her ever since. We also know that once they returned to the known galaxy, only a few moments had passed despite having spent days in the Mortis realm. I believe that this is also applicable to the World Between Worlds, especially since both realms are directly connected via The Ones from Mortis.
    As for the ending of Episode 4 of Ahsoka, I remember during TCW that Anakin was supposed to take over from the Father as the Chosen One, maintaining the balance between the the light and dark. It was prophesised by the Father whilst near-death that despite having declined the Father's invitation to remain on Mortis, he would fulfil his destiny. Moreover he is told during this scene after having killed the Son, that he has brought balance and must do so again for the galaxy, but to remain wary of his heart. We can safely presume this refers to Padmé. I do wonder then, having redeemed himself in Return of the Jedi by destroying the Sith, did he fulfil his destiny and succeed the Father as the Chosen One after his death, thereby explaining his appearance in the World Between Worlds? Or something else?

    The story of how the World between Worlds intertwines w/ Star wars has not yet been fully hashed out, but ...
    In the midst of the sequel era, I thought Snoke was a fallen Whill (which I process as younger versions of the force priestesses that taught Yoda at the end of the Clone Wars). They were powerful entities and created the galaxy/universe, all was perfect. But one of them (Snoke) went against their wishes), and almost-biblically introduced evil (the dark side).
    The world between worlds I thought was the Whills' domain, until "the fall." From that point, they existed in the galaxy (universe) and created The Ones to balance the error that resulted (with Jedi / Sith fighting in the foreground)

    Star Wars needs to take a page out of what they did in Harry Potter with the time travel. If you are going to introduce time travel in the story, you need to have subtle hints and moments throughout the timeline that imply that the story is being altered, and then reveal what actually happened. What they did in Rebels wasn't even close to this, they just made it all up in an episode and said, here you go Ashoka is saved. Time travel has to be planned out from the beginning otherwise it just comes off a lazy writing to the audience/reader. Another thing, after you are done with the time travel, you have to destroy any device that allows it to close any plotholes. Since we have seen the world between worlds again, they have failed to close any foreseen plotholes.
