Yep. It wrecks me every time. But you know, I maybe cry (always suddenly, spasmodically, though I know it's coming) even harder during "Drink With Me"-- something about Grantaire's unexpected vulnerability...
Kaitlyn Smith yes! This line is so sad. Along with "back to the sun, back to the shore, back to what I was before. Back where I'm known, back in my own very small pond." We can see how far Elle's come, how confident she is. it's such a staggering waste of potential, because she is a very good lawyer. Elle also fought so hard to break herself out of the blonde bimbo stereotype.
- anything from Falsettos - anything from spring awakening - for good from wicked - legally blonde from legally blonde - a really lousy day in the universe from a New Brain - In my dreams from Anastasia - she used to be mine from waitress - fly fly away from catch me if you can
Oh my gosh, yes. Legally blonde is such a sad song. And Falsettos is really sad as well (I mean there are really funny moments like Look, look, it’s the lesbian from next store.)
“For Good” Wicked “Slipping Through my Fingers” Mamma Mia “She Used To Be Mine” Waitress most of Hamilton Act II "Breathe" and "Everything I know" from In The Heights Basically any song that explores a mother-daughter relationship, family, or friendship
oh gosh can I just- no one has to read this I’m just gonna drop it here Mamma Mia’s tied to memories of the closest family member that I’ve ever lost, and I didn’t remember Slipping Through My Fingers. I listened to the soundtrack, came across that...and I heard the lyrics and felt like it was her singing to me, after wondering if she’d be proud of where I am now. Yeah, I was drawing when that song came on and I just had to drop all my stuff to wipe my face off.
Gah! Slipping Through My Fingers. I’m an only to a single and we both sob through that song every single time we hear it. I got a shot if my mom isn’t around but if we’re watching the movie or something together... that song gets skipped. Like, hard pass.
Especially alabanza from in the Heights for me (got into that show the day i lost my grandma and when i heard the news from my mom she was gone i just layed in my bed and put the song on repeat for a solid few hours before i called my sister and told her)
i used she used to be mine as my audition song for the show i'm doing right now and let me tell you, i was near tears the entire time i was preparing it 😂
“Inevitable” - The Guy Who Didn’t Like Musicals is such an upbeat song but it wrecks me emotionally because of the role it plays in the plot. But I still listen to it because it’s s o good
Alyssa Stanley It’s my favorite from TGWDLM, but my favorite StarKid show has to be Starship because of what it means to me sentimentally. TGWDLM is a close 2nd/3rd though!!
Alyssa Stanley TGWDLM and Black Friday are the only horror things I can watch because horror is generally too scary for me but ugh they’re both so good. I’m just a sucker for shows with a lot of emotional moments so Starship is 👌🏼
"So Big, So Small" Dear Evan Hansen "For Forever" Dear Evan Hansen "Requiem" Dear Evan Hansen "Word's Fail" Dear Evan Hansen "Michel in the Bathroom" Be More Chill I have not once listened to Words Fail without balling my eyes out.
“Words fail” DEH I had my iTunes on shuffle today and it came on and I cried during a conference call lol. People were asking what was wrong and I couldn’t form words
-“I Don’t Need a Roof” from Big Fish -“Word Fail” from Dear Evan Hansen - And for reasons.... “Dangerous to Dream” and “Monster” from Frozen I just. Yeah. Absolutely destroyed.
When I saw Dear Evan Hansen I was just frozen watching everything in act 2 when everything starts falling apart, but when 'So Small' started the tears just started flooding and I don't think they stopped until the applause
Dangerous to dream kills me every time for some reason. Also, while I'm in the Frozen theme, the 3rd verse in Do You Wanna Build A Snowman when the parents die. My friend sings it (as Middle Anna) and it is heartbreaking. I'm Middle Elsa btw. It's so good in the OBC. Does What's Wrong With Me from Mean Girls also make you sad? It can be really relatable.
"One Song Glory" - Rent "Burn" - Hamilton "its quiet Uptown" - Hamilton "Requiem" - Dear Evan Hansen one line from seasons of love "In truths that she learned : Or in times that he cried: In bridges he burned : Or the way that she died" - Rent
“It’s Quiet Uptown” and “Who Lives, Who Dies, Who Tells Your Story” from Hamilton “You Will Be Found”, Words Fail”, and “So Big/So Small” from Dear Evan Hansen “Loser, Geek, Whatever” and “Micheal in the Bathroom” from Be More Chill “I’ll Cover You (Reprise)” from RENT “Dying Ain’t So Bad” from Bonnie and Clyde “Still Hurting” from The Last Five Years “Kindergarten Boyfriend” from Heathers (I recently played Heather Chandler in a production of Heathers my friend who played Martha literally killed it so hard and I was sobbing in the wings) “She Used To Be Mine” from Waitress AhhhhhhhHHHHH just thinking about these damn songs I’m tearing up. But I’m so happy to have found this channel and to know that I’m not alone in my Broadway addiction. Happy to be in the theatre cult! Love ya, Kat!
I was listening to “Bare” from Bare once while making a birthday gift for my friend and I just started hysterically crying. My dad walked into the room and was genuinely concerned to see me gluing stuff into a book (the present for my friend) and sobbing.
“little fall of rain” - les mis “those you’ve known” - spring awakening “somewhere” - west side story” “who lives who dies who tells your story” - hamilton
(Note: I’m not sarcasming here, lol) I love how she says she’s PMSing hard and is really stressed but then she’s still so nice and upbeat. Like, I turn into a complete MONSTER...
-“For good” wicked -“The world was wide enough” - Hamilton -“satisfied” Hamilton -“who loves, who dies, who tells your story” Hamilton -“Words fail” dear Evan Hansen -“you will be found” dear Evan Hansen -“Road to hell (reprise)” hadestown -“I see stars” mean girls (idk why that makes me emotional lol) -“monster” frozen -“true love” frozen -“she used to be mine” waitress -“everything changes” waitress
Question of the day: • “Empty Chairs at Empty Tables” from Les Mis • “On My Own” from Les Mis • “The Movie In My Mind” from Miss Saigon • “Last Night of The World” from Miss Saigon • “I’d Give My Life For You” from Miss Saigon • “Satisfied” from Hamilton (Just how much Angelica cares for her sister it kills me) • “Stay Alive (Reprise)” and “It’s Quiet Uptown” (both only after seeing them live. It was sad on the cast recording but seeing them live? I was in tears, especially Eliza’s scream) • “Who Lives, Who Dies, Who Tells Your Story” from Hamilton (especially when we get to the orphanage) • “You Will Be Found” from Dear Evan Hansen • “All You Wanna Do” from Six (the implications and realisations of what’s going on) • “Flowers” from Hadestown • “Promises” from Hadestown • “Wait For Me (Reprise)” from Hadestown • “Breathe” from In The Heights (I related so hard to Nina, I discovered In The Heights in my first year of University and had similar fears) • “Inútil” from In The Heights (The last bit especially) • “Alabanza” from In The Heights • “Still Hurting” from The Last 5 Years • “Unruly Heart” from The Prom • “One Song Glory” from RENT • “The Dark I Know Well” from Spring Awakening (It’s like All You Wanna Do, once you know what it’s about you can’t listen to it and not start thinking about that) I need to stop adding songs to this as I find them. This list is spiralling out of control.
Listening to the live versions of All You Wanna Do when she’s screaming and hysterical makes me cry so hard. And the deaf west version of The Dark I Know Well hits me the hardest honestly.
When I was just starting out as a high school theatre director, in my third year, I think, we unfortunately lost a very sweet and very beloved young lady to cancer. It was a huge blow to my program and we struggled throughout the year to rationalize and heal. I chose to direct Little Women: The Musical as our spring show that year and we dedicated it to her. It was tough as Beth dying from scarlet fever felt very close to what we were feeling in real life. There is a scene in Act II on a beach in which Beth tells her sister goodbye and that she's not afraid to die and just wishes they had more time together. We flew a purple kite above the audience as they sang "Some Things Are Meant To Be". I can not hear that song and not get wave after wave of emotions reminding me about that and how proud I was of my strong students for such a beautiful tribute.
To answer the question of the day: -Literally the whole act 2 of Dear Evan Hansen -"Santa Fe" from Newsies -"Doubt Comes In" from Hadestown cuz you already know how the thing rolls from there -"Bring on the Monsters" from The Lightning Thief -"Goodbye Until Tomorrow/I Could Never Rescue You" from The Last Five Years (the different sides just break me) -The entirety of Les Mis
“Wishing You Were Somehow Here Again” - Phantom of The Opera “Seasons of Love” -Rent “On My Own” - Les Mis “I dreamed a dream” -Les Mis “You Will Be Found” - Dear Evan Hansen “Waving through a Window” - Dear Evan Hansen (the first time I heard it) “Lifeboat” - Heathers “I am Damaged” - Heathers
Oh I started getting emotional when I read "Wishing You Were Somehow Here Again" because it was played at my cousin's funeral. He loved Phantom of The Opera
Honestly, it’s hard for me to listen to Wishing You Were Somehow Here Again as well. My little sister died recently and I can only think of her when I hear it.
The “I’ll cover you, reprise” the pain in Colin’s last note...Oh God. My boyfriend had recently begun dating, he had never seen Rent, so I popped in the movie. I hadn’t watched it recently, I was not as fortified as I assumed, ended up sobbing. “Do you want to build a snowman?” KILLS me! Don’t judge, lol. My much younger adopted sister woke me most mornings, knocking on my bedroom door, asking me to play with her. Now that I live so far away from my family, it hurts that much more.
Question Of The Day: •”It’s Quiet Uptown”~Hamilton •”Burn”~Hamilton •”You Gotta Die Sometime”~Falsettos •”I Am Damaged”~ Heathers •”A Little Fall of Rain”~ Les Miserables •The Entire Score~Les Miserables •”Heart Of Stone”~SIX •”Breathe”~In The Heights •”Waiting”~The Addams Family Musical •”Flowers”~Hadestown •”Home”~Beetlejuice •”My House”~Matilda And last but not least.... “Class”~Chicago Love you Kat! ♥️
YASSSS Heart of Stone!! The saddest part is without a doubt when Jane sings "soon I'll have to go, I'll never see him grow, but I hope my son will know he'll never be alone"...IT'S SO FRICKIN SAD!!!!
“who lives who dies who tells your story”- Hamilton As a history masters student, this song hits me hard at times. My thesis involves telling people’s stories and the legacies they left behind, which makes this song more meaningful to me
She Used To Be Mine - Waitress Still Hurting - The Last Five Years What Would I Do? - Falsettos True Love - Frozen On My Own - Les Misérables He’s My Boy - Everybodys Talking About Jamie With You - Ghost MY HOUSE - Matilda Words Fail - Dear Evan Hansen It’s Quiet Uptown - Hamilton ALABANZA - In The Heights Legally Blonde - Legally Blonde My Mother (Eulogy) - Muriel’s Wedding Memory Reprise - Cats
Ive just been scrolling through the comments trying to find acknowledgement for He's My Boy. It's so stunning and SO gut wrenching. Nothing encapsulates being or being brought up by a single mum quite like that song 💕
This one is kinda weird, but “Dust and Ashes” from Great Comet kills me if I really feel it. That’sMY song. That’s the song that relates to me and my life and when I’m in the mood it is so cathartic and it absolutely destroys me. I’m always holding back tears when I sing it
The number one song that I can think of is this: "The I Love You Song" from The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee This song is just an emotional punch.
"I'll Cover You (Reprise)" breaks me wide open. Like, I've seen that show four-ish times since 2001 and listened to the soundtrack dozens of times,, and the only difference is that now the first playing of "I'll Cover You" wrecks me too because I know what's going to happen with that one line.
"Someday", and "Finale" from Hunchback "Edleveiss/Finale" - Sound of Music "It's Quiet Uptown", "Stay Alive", "One Last Time" and "Who Lives Who Dies Who Tells Your Story" from Hamilton "For Good" - Wicked "Just One Second/A Million Miles" -Bridges of Madison County "Somewhere in the Middle of Nowhere", "Me and the Sky" - Come from Away "So Big/So Small" - DEH "Something's Are Meant to Be" - Little Women Just to name a few *Also Kat's obsession with soup while PMS'ing is such a mood haha love you Kat
The musical theatre song that destroys me the most has to be "The I Love You Song" from The 35th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee. That song hits close to home in a few aspects to the point where I get teary eyed each time I listen to it. That combined with the moment that Olive snaps out of her illusion and realizes that the thing she wants most in life is chimerical or will never happen along with the tone in her voice when she realizes it makes me want to cry every time I hear it.
I was looking for this exact comment omg, I almost cried onstage during this song when I did the show. The rest of the show is mostly so upbeat and then you get hit with this and it’s like aaaaaaa whyyyyyy
The songs that come to mind are: -my house from matilda -letter from the refuge from newsies -do i love because you're beautiful from cinderella -i am here from come from away (and basically the entire soundtrack) -happy/sad from addams family for some reason???
“What Would I Do?” From Falsettos “Michael in the Bathroom” from BMC “Who Lives, Who Dies, Who Tells You’re Story?” From Hamilton “Words Fail” from DEH “I’ll Cover You (reprise)” from Rent
1. Dreamer in disguise (reprise) - Carrie 2. I am damaged- heathers 3. Part of that- the last five years 4. Into the woods finale 5. Kindergarten boyfriend- heathers
ME AND THE SKY, FROM COME FROM AWAY. “And the one thing I’ve loved more than anything was used as the bomb” KILLED ME. Also “take it from an old man” Waitress “let it on all yourself at once time” I SOB
Oh! And the song that ruined me was “Stay Alive Reprise” from Hamilton. Just listening to it is fine but when I saw it live and Eliza screams I just 😭😭😭 Also “It’s quiet uptown” broke me too... Okay so maybe just Act 2 of Hamilton lol
I finally saw Hamilton live on Sunday and I was unprepared for the screaM. I basically cried from this song forward. Eliza crying centerstage during “Quiet Uptown” killed me
Question of the day: "Left behind" from Spring awakening; "I'd give my life for you" and "The movie in my mind" from Miss Saigon; "Unlikely lovers" and "What would I do" from Falsettos; "Best Kept Secret" and "Bare" from Bare; Almost all of the songs from Les Miserables There are definetly more but that's all I can remember now...
unruly heart from the prom makes me cry. i'm a lesbian and hearing the line "no matter what the world might say, this heart is the best part of me" really hits home, growing up in a homophobic environment. honourable mentions: ring of keys - fun home: young alison was me. seeing that representation makes me cry. the tony performance wrecks me) pretty much the entirety of act 2 of falsettos: i got to see the off-west end production and sobbed. bare: just like, all of it. breathe, everything i know - in the heights: when this film comes out i'm gonna be a mess
Question of the day: "Home" from Beetlejuice destroys me. Especially when you see it in the context of the show and you get the dialogue in there. Also, "So Big/So Small" from DEH
I have NO idea why... but “We Raise Our Cups” from hadestown makes me sob my eyes out. every. single. time. oh wait, yes i do. because it’s beautiful and depressing and makes me want to be on broadway 2858829392x more
Song that DESTROYED me recently: show yourself from frozen 2. I sob when I watch it. I sob when I listen to it. Even thinking about it makes me emotional. It’s the animation, the music, the story. Just all of it. I can’t handle it 😂
To answer the question of the day: “The Great Comet of 1812” and “Sonya Alone” from The Great Comet of 1812 “For Good” from Wicked “Dear Friend” from She Loves Me “Where did the Rock Go” from School of Rock “I’ll Cover You(Reprise)” from Rent “Slipping Through my Fingers” from Mamma Mia “Prayer” from Come From Away “Dead Mom” and “Home” from Beetlejuice “Goodbye Little Dream, Goodbye” from Anything Goes “Can’t Help Falling in Love” and “There’s Always Me” from All Shook Up “Proud of Your Boy” from Aladdin “Santa Fe” from Newsies. Anytime that I listen to these songs, even if I am happy, I always cry when they come on when listening to my playlist.
When I saw "Next to normal" for the first time it broke me. Hard. I came out the second act sobbing uncontrollably. It took almost an hour for me after the show before I finally managed to stop crying. This show just hit so close to home for me in so many ways and brought back so many memories that I just couldn't handle it. Meanwhile my friends stood there, unsure what to do or if they could do anything. In the end they just handed me one tissue after another while forming a wall around me so all the other people in the theater didn't get to see the emotional wreck that was sitting there. I'll probably always remember the impact this show had on my life. And Hadestown always gets me. When I listened to it the first time I knew how it would end. I knew the mythos very well since I had to study it and all the operas that were made based in it in university. I knew what was coming and yet I cried rivers. Which in itself wouldn't have been so bad. If I hadn't been at work that moment and wouldn't sit next to my boss who was understandably confused why that girl next to him started crying for no reason. Great times. History repeated itself when I found a bootleg of the show a few days later. I cried again. At work. Next to my boss. Oh well. ^^'
as a musician, i agree. my first time ever watching hamilton, i couldn’t stop shaking after. it moved me, and it is such an intense show for a kid. so i felt every emotion at once,
I think a lot of people already covered some of mine, but. “Days of Plenty” from Little Women (also Something’s are meant to be) “Finale” From Hunchback of Notre Dame And “Another Room in Your Head” from Alice by Heart are pretty good ones that make me sob
"Don't Do Sadness" from Spring Awakening "Then There Was None" from Spring Awakening "Bare" from Bare a Popera "Road to Hell (Reprise)" From Hadestown Practically all of act two of Falsettos "Made of Stone" From Hunchback of Notre Dame
Spring Awakening is the only musical that has ever made me cry. Really, it’s a show I’ve related to on so many levels. Something that will always get me is Left Behind. I’ve never cried so hard from a musical song.
A lot of Spring Awakening makes me so emotional, its just *such* a good show and so very underrated. Being a teenager myself it resonates so deeply. Every listen I take away something new.
"The beautiful young main character Wendla explores the mysteries of her body and wonders aloud where babies come from... until Mama tells her to shut it and put on a proper dress. Elsewhere, the brilliant and fearless young Melchior interrupts a mind-numbing Latin drill to defend his buddy, Moritz - a boy so traumatized by puberty that he can't concentrate on anything... not that the Headmaster cares. He strikes them both and tells them to turn in their lesson. One afternoon, in a private place in the woods, Melchior and Wendla meet by accident and soon find within themselves a desire unlike anything they've ever felt. After Melchior pushes himself into Wendla, they share a sex scene before intermission. As they fumble their way into one another's arms, Moritz flounders and soon fails out of school. When even his one adult friend, Melchior's mother, ignores his plea for help, he is left so distraught that he can't hear the promise of life offered and commits suicide. Naturally, the Headmasters waste no time in pinning the "crime" of Moritz's suicide on Melchior to expel him. And soon, Mama learns that her little Wendla is pregnant. Now the young lovers must struggle against all odds to build a world together for their child." Right before the song "Whispering," Wendla finds out she is pregnant with Melchior's baby. The song tells the story of her mistake and the consequences that will come from it. After the song, she is taken by some men who her mother hires to perform an abortion. The abortion goes wrong and she dies. The song "Those You Know" talks about the two people who have then passed and how they walk beside Melchior #NotGone 😭 The play addresses the topic of rape, physical abuse, homosexuality, and grief... While giving us the funniest (and I think only) masturbation scene on Broadway history. I suggest you know watch clips of the Broadway Deaf West production on TH-cam.
"Something's missing" from Come From Away. The first time I listened through the cast recording (unfortunately I haven't seen the show), I started crying immediately and once it gets to THAT phone call, i just started full on sobbing. I'm tearing up just thinking about it.
Yeah... come from away is the only musical ever where I cry just listening to the soundtrack with no visual or context whatsoever. But that's partly also because what really gets me isn't just people dying, it's acts of human kindness. And the entire musical is that 100% of the time so it WRECKS me!
Literally the entirety of Come From Away makes me cry every single time. The first time I heard the opening number I no joke started sobbing. I find the story and just the kindness so touching and so beautiful. Also, For Forever from DEH and Hamilton act 2 want to kill me, and I'm on the Finale from Hunchback's hit list.
"Words Fail" and "So Big/So Small" - Dear Evan Hansen "Lifeboat" and "Kindergarten Boyfriend" - Heathers "It's Quiet Uptown" and "Burn" - Hamilton "She Used To Be Mine" - Waitress "If Only" - The Little Mermaid "No One is Alone" - Into the Woods "I'm Not That Girl" - Wicked "Wait For Me" and "Doubt Comes In" - Hadestown ...The list goes on...
"I Dreamed a Dance/There's a World" from Next to Normal hit hella different when There's a World was the song I kept playing during a massive depressive spiral. I can't listen to this song without crying.
My mom is bipolar, so I had a very hard time listening to Next to Normal. I remember after I listened to one song, with tears in my eyes, I texted my mom to tell her how much I loved her and was so sorry for what she was going through and still goes through. We have a good relationship, thankfully, but it wasn’t always easy. Also, “Me and the Sky” from Come From Away gets me every single time at the end.
1-“Words Fail” from Dear Evan Hansen 2-“Those You’ve Known” From Spring Awakening 3-“Requiem” From Dear Evan Hansen 4-“You Gotta Die Sometime” from Falsettos 5-“Heartbreaker” from Bright Star *Those are my top 5 songs that absolutely WRECK me emotionally*
Can we just take a minute and talk about HOW SAD Part Of Us from Once On This Island is!?!? Like I can barely get through that song without crying!!!!!
Katherine Steele I’m gonna see the tour in February I’m so excited! Also my school did the jr version and they CUT OUT like the best parts of that song!!!
MMNGHHH my school did this show when I was in junior high! I remember the leads and storytellers had already worked the song, and during a rehearsal they showed it to us ensemble members and we were all bawling! I can still hear our Mama Euralie singing the beginning...
Question of the day: -The Chess Game (Falsettos) -I Never Wanted to Loved You (Falsettos) -Unlikely Lovers (Falsettos) -What Would I Do? (Falsettos) -Falsettoland (Falsettos) -Basically all of Falsettos... -Left Behind (Spring Awakening) -Empty Chairs at Empty Tables (Les Misérables) -Legally Blonde (Legally Blonde) -It's Quiet Uptown (Hamilton) -She Used to be Mine (Waitress) -I'll Cover You (Reprise) (RENT)
"Words Fail" Dear Evan Hansen "So Big, So Small" Dear Evan Hansen "It's Quiet Uptown" Hamilton (even the INSTRUMENTAL gets me) those are the worst ones but there are many more
“It’s Quiet Uptown” Hamilton Literally just all of the songs - Next To Normal (although I usually skip “There’s a World” and “I Dreamed a Dance”, but fun fact: I did used to listen to the Next To Normal soundtrack every day lmao) “Words Fail” - Dear Evan Hansen “She Used to be Mine” - Waitress And this ones kind of a weird one but when I was little, we always had to skip the dream scene (“Out of my Dreams”) from Oklahoma because it freaked me out for some reason.
Question of the Day: I dreamed a dream - les mis Little fall of rain - les mis The death of gavroche - les mis Little fall of rain - les mis Empty chairs at empty tables - les mis Epilogue - les mis Wishing you were somehow here again - phantom All of act 2- Hamilton Maybe - miss Saigon Memory- cats Edelweiss- the sound of music Feed the birds- Mary Poppins Defying gravity - wicked For Good - wicked When I grow up - Matilda There’s a lot more but I’m tired of typing
"One Song Glory" from Rent "Monster" from Frozen "I Miss the Mountains" from Next to Normal (oh my GOSH) "Who I'd Be" from Shrek "Castle on a Cloud" from Les Miserables (All of Les Mis really, but that's a really underrated tear jerker)
"So big, So small" - DEH "She used to be mine" - Waitress "Slipping through my fingers" - Mamma Mia "No one is Alone" - Into the Woods ... I think I might have mommy issues, you guys
Proud of your boy from Aladin kills me that part were he said “ I wasn’t born perfect like dad or you “ crushes me because I relate so much to that song
The entirety of Hamilton act two makes my friends and I ball our eyes out specifically Stay Alive Reprise tithe point my friends have banned listening to it
(In no particular order) -- Being Alive (Company) --Bare (Bare: A Pop Opera) --Absolution (Bare: A Pop Opera) [All of Bare: A Pop Opera, to be honest] --Your Daddy's Son (Ragtime) --New Music (Ragtime) [The whole Act 2 from Falsettos, of course] --I'll Cover You (Reprise) --I Dreamed a Dream (Les Miserables) --So Anyway (Next to Normal) --Eva's Final Broadcast (Evita) [The ending of The Phantom of the Opera] [All of Miss Saigon, but especially:] --I'd Give My Life For You (Miss Saigon) --Pierre & Andrey [The Great Comet]
Tbh there are SOOOOO many more I could’ve put in this vid. Who wants a Part 2 of Broadway /Off-Broadway / Popera songs that destroyed my soul?
Please make more Beetlejuice content
Please make a part 2
Yes. Just yes.
Yes OMG pleaseee
The more popera the better
“Empty Chairs at Empty Tables” just make me rethink my life and cry.
ReTWEET !!!
Yes! I was listening to it literally on public transportation and started crying, haven't gotten that many weird looks in a while
This literally just makes me scream in pain
YEEESSSS
Yep. It wrecks me every time. But you know, I maybe cry (always suddenly, spasmodically, though I know it's coming) even harder during "Drink With Me"-- something about Grantaire's unexpected vulnerability...
"Legally Blonde" from Legally Blonde - When Elle sings "some girls are just meant to smile"
Kaitlyn Smith omg CHILLS every time that line comes on :,)
UGH THAT SONG 😭😭😭
omg yes
😢
"I Am Damaged" from Heathers BROKE me. Also the line, "I wish we met before they convinced you life is war" from the dead girl walking reprise.
Let me break you, imagine if Veronica said ‘Our love is gone’ at the end before JD blows up instead of ‘Say hi to god’. :)
It's worse when you realize J.D. is repeating "Our Love Is God" because he wants her to say it with her
@@sh00txngstqr84 damn, imagine the last thing you hear before you blow up is a rly lowkey fuck you lol.
Madison Sison 😭
just- it makes me imagine a world where Veronica and JD did meet before and he was less damaged :'(
- anything from Falsettos
- anything from spring awakening
- for good from wicked
- legally blonde from legally blonde
- a really lousy day in the universe from a New Brain
- In my dreams from Anastasia
- she used to be mine from waitress
- fly fly away from catch me if you can
Oh my gosh, yes. Legally blonde is such a sad song. And Falsettos is really sad as well (I mean there are really funny moments like Look, look, it’s the lesbian from next store.)
-anything from hadestown
Cue me sobbing the last time I sang for good bc it was my mom’s best friend’s favorite song and he’s no longer with us😭
My best friend and I consider For Good our theme song.
In my dreams is such a beautiful song. One of my favorites from Anastasia (AKA my favorite)
“For Good” Wicked
“Slipping Through my Fingers” Mamma Mia
“She Used To Be Mine” Waitress
most of Hamilton Act II
"Breathe" and "Everything I know" from In The Heights
Basically any song that explores a mother-daughter relationship, family, or friendship
Remarkably my weep song is The Wizard and I in Wicked...just kills me
@@j.r.cilliangreen4083 depending on my mood, The Wizard and I will make me sob, along with both versions of Not That Girl
oh gosh can I just-
no one has to read this I’m just gonna drop it here
Mamma Mia’s tied to memories of the closest family member that I’ve ever lost, and I didn’t remember Slipping Through My Fingers.
Bruh what did I miss from Hamilton gets me sobbing every time 😭
“Still Hurting” The Last Five Years
“So Big, So Small” Dear Evan Hansen
“She Used to be Mine” Waitress
“Leave” Once
“Alabanza” In the Heights
Truth to all of that. Soft Place to Land killse too
So big so small makes me ugly cry every time.
If you wanna cry more, try in the bedroom down the hall. It was a demo that kind of replaces so big/so small, but it is SO powerful
But I still listen to it because it’s s o good
I love that song. It's my favorite from TGWDLM and it my favorite starkid show
Alyssa Stanley It’s my favorite from TGWDLM, but my favorite StarKid show has to be Starship because of what it means to me sentimentally. TGWDLM is a close 2nd/3rd though!!
Starship is my second, only because TGWDLM is a horror musical and I'm a sucker for a good horror musical
Alyssa Stanley TGWDLM and Black Friday are the only horror things I can watch because horror is generally too scary for me but ugh they’re both so good. I’m just a sucker for shows with a lot of emotional moments so Starship is 👌🏼
Oh damn. I was absolutely destroyed after watching the Inevitable scene. Especially because it was so upbeat. Ugh.
“Burn” is definitely sad, but “It’s Quiet Uptown” reaches into my chest, tears my heart out and rips it into a million pieces.
Yes. I have to skip it when I'm driving otherwise I would wreck my car...
RIGHT???
YES OMG I never cry with Burn but when Alexander says “look around look around Eliza” in It’s Quiet Uptown, I instantly tear up
Ya I think that’s one that destroyed me when I watched Hamitlton. It hurts my heart every time
"So Big, So Small" Dear Evan Hansen
"For Forever" Dear Evan Hansen
"Requiem" Dear Evan Hansen
"Word's Fail" Dear Evan Hansen
"Michel in the Bathroom" Be More Chill
I have not once listened to Words Fail without balling my eyes out.
Lol love how all those are from Dear Evan Hansen and Be More Chill
This could be my list... xD
I have a feeling you like DEH
Shadow Hunter Oh I don’t like it
I LOVE IT
TOO MUCH
Let's just say all of deh except for sincerely me and to break in a glove 😂😭
“Words Fail” - DEH
“It’s Quiet Uptown” -Hamilton
“Michael In the Bathroom” -BMC
mood omg
It’s Quiet Uptown kills me even more since have a child and everything leading up that point
Exactly the same
“Words fail” DEH I had my iTunes on shuffle today and it came on and I cried during a conference call lol. People were asking what was wrong and I couldn’t form words
April May June Deh finale

Taylor 0 yes
Cay14 *oh my goodness*
AHHH WORDS FAIL DESCRIBES MY LIFE TOO WELL
-“I Don’t Need a Roof” from Big Fish
-“Word Fail” from Dear Evan Hansen
- And for reasons.... “Dangerous to Dream” and “Monster” from Frozen
I just. Yeah. Absolutely destroyed.
Omg YES
I played Sandra in Big Fish and lost it during that song!!!
When I saw Dear Evan Hansen I was just frozen watching everything in act 2 when everything starts falling apart, but when 'So Small' started the tears just started flooding and I don't think they stopped until the applause
@@iljasmitsis I lost it at that song too. I forgot the tissues in the train.
“Heart of Stone” from Six had me crying
yes I just can’t handle it xx
Yeet the Child 😣
the ending of all you wanna do makes me sob she didn’t deserve that :((
Same, that bridge, I was balling.
Yeet the Child As someone who lost their mother, it definitely makes me cry, especially when Jane sings about not being there to see Edward grow up.
"One Song Glory" - Rent
"Burn" - Hamilton
"its quiet Uptown" - Hamilton
"Requiem" - Dear Evan Hansen
one line from seasons of love "In truths that she learned
: Or in times that he cried: In bridges he burned
: Or the way that she died" - Rent
all of those HURT
Anything from rent act 2 basically
It’s quiet uptown destroyed me
I was gonna say Reqiuem from DEH. That's my favorite from the whole show and I was waiting for it in this video.
“So Big So Small.” I don’t know why, but I think I cry even more in that song then “Words Fail
That song destroys me every time!
That one makes me cry more than words fail for sure
Definitely! I cry just thinking about the title, and being someone who relates to it HURTS
SAME words fail only made me cry once when I saw it live but So Big So Small makes me cry EVERY SINGLE EFFING TIME
I totally forgot about this song. Along with in the bedroom down the hall. Sob fest 2020
“It’s Quiet Uptown” and “Who Lives, Who Dies, Who Tells Your Story” from Hamilton
“You Will Be Found”, Words Fail”, and “So Big/So Small” from Dear Evan Hansen
“Loser, Geek, Whatever” and “Micheal in the Bathroom” from Be More Chill
“I’ll Cover You (Reprise)” from RENT
“Dying Ain’t So Bad” from Bonnie and Clyde
“Still Hurting” from The Last Five Years
“Kindergarten Boyfriend” from Heathers (I recently played Heather Chandler in a production of Heathers my friend who played Martha literally killed it so hard and I was sobbing in the wings)
“She Used To Be Mine” from Waitress
AhhhhhhhHHHHH just thinking about these damn songs I’m tearing up. But I’m so happy to have found this channel and to know that I’m not alone in my Broadway addiction. Happy to be in the theatre cult! Love ya, Kat!
Legit, I agree SO MUCH!!! :
yes, yes, yes aND YES. i love your list!! 🖤
You know kindergarten boyfriend is my least favourite song from heathers lol
I agree. Also Doubt Comes In from Hadestown
How the fuck does you will be found make you sad.
When I saw the title I was like “all of them”
😂💖
"I'm just gonna list the entirety of act two of Falsettos." GIRL I FELT THAT
I was listening to “Bare” from Bare once while making a birthday gift for my friend and I just started hysterically crying. My dad walked into the room and was genuinely concerned to see me gluing stuff into a book (the present for my friend) and sobbing.
Theycallmeemimi 23 you physically can not listen to Bare without crying
when Jason says “I love you and I loved you from the start” I start crying my eyes out every time smh
practically every song in bare makes me cry so badly
Once Upon a Time really gets me just feeling Jason's pain through the speakers
“little fall of rain” - les mis
“those you’ve known” - spring awakening
“somewhere” - west side story”
“who lives who dies who tells your story” - hamilton
That last “who lives who dies who tells your story” gets me EVERY SINGLE TIME
Lucy same
Eliza - "Oh. Can I show you what I'm proudest of?" Complete puddle of tears. Every. Single. Time.
"Oh I can't wait to see you again, it's only a matter of time" gets me
Lindsey Maher same
“What Would I Do?” - Falsettos
Absolutely destroys my day and I.
JustSayMichelle For me it starts at Holding to the Ground.
i can’t listen to what would i do without crying no cap
For me it starts at more Racquetball when he’s just really worn out and him getting sick starts to show.
when i’m already sad and i hear mendels ‘homosexuals’ in the reprise im done you can HEAR the sad in that word
^omg ikr
No one:
Absolutely no one:
Not even Christine singing high:
Not even everyone crying in Bare:
Kath: I sHoUlD gO cRy In An OlIvE gArDeN bAtHrOoM
I need this on a t-shirt
I would like this but it's at 69 likes
@Lily Stewart-Ward lmao yay
(Note: I’m not sarcasming here, lol)
I love how she says she’s PMSing hard and is really stressed but then she’s still so nice and upbeat. Like, I turn into a complete MONSTER...
Same I cry super ugly
-“For good” wicked
-“The world was wide enough” -
Hamilton
-“satisfied” Hamilton
-“who loves, who dies, who tells your story” Hamilton
-“Words fail” dear Evan Hansen
-“you will be found” dear Evan Hansen
-“Road to hell (reprise)” hadestown
-“I see stars” mean girls (idk why that makes me emotional lol)
-“monster” frozen
-“true love” frozen
-“she used to be mine” waitress
-“everything changes” waitress
"the orphanage" aka the moment I sob
ending songs make me emotional even if they’re really upbeat, its just the end of the show
Question of the day:
• “Empty Chairs at Empty Tables” from Les Mis
• “On My Own” from Les Mis
• “The Movie In My Mind” from Miss Saigon
• “Last Night of The World” from Miss Saigon
• “I’d Give My Life For You” from Miss Saigon
• “Satisfied” from Hamilton (Just how much Angelica cares for her sister it kills me)
• “Stay Alive (Reprise)” and “It’s Quiet Uptown” (both only after seeing them live. It was sad on the cast recording but seeing them live? I was in tears, especially Eliza’s scream)
• “Who Lives, Who Dies, Who Tells Your Story” from Hamilton (especially when we get to the orphanage)
• “You Will Be Found” from Dear Evan Hansen
• “All You Wanna Do” from Six (the implications and realisations of what’s going on)
• “Flowers” from Hadestown
• “Promises” from Hadestown
• “Wait For Me (Reprise)” from Hadestown
• “Breathe” from In The Heights (I related so hard to Nina, I discovered In The Heights in my first year of University and had similar fears)
• “Inútil” from In The Heights (The last bit especially)
• “Alabanza” from In The Heights
• “Still Hurting” from The Last 5 Years
• “Unruly Heart” from The Prom
• “One Song Glory” from RENT
• “The Dark I Know Well” from Spring Awakening (It’s like All You Wanna Do, once you know what it’s about you can’t listen to it and not start thinking about that)
I need to stop adding songs to this as I find them. This list is spiralling out of control.
All you Wanna Do hits HARD.
^ When people make amazing animatics of ANY of these
I also relate INSANELY to All you Wanna Do, and it hits me HAARRDD
Yo how could you mention Hadestown songs and not bring up Road to Hell Reprise.
Muffynz this is beautiful and also breaks my heart. 💔
To answer the question of the day:
-Literally the whole act 2 of Dear Evan Hansen
-"Santa Fe" from Newsies
-"Doubt Comes In" from Hadestown cuz you already know how the thing rolls from there
-"Bring on the Monsters" from The Lightning Thief
-"Goodbye Until Tomorrow/I Could Never Rescue You" from The Last Five Years (the different sides just break me)
-The entirety of Les Mis
Yeah, the opening notes make me tear up, and Good Kid.
GOOD KID MAKES ME SING THROUGH TEARS
Goodbye Until Tomorrow is just devastating
“Lauren’s interlude” and the unused song “Dear Theodosia 2“ From Hamilton
“Heart of stone” From Six
“Kindergarten boyfriend” From Heathers
Silver Puppy The first time I saw Hamilton I was aware of Lauren’s interlude but seeing it in real life.. OH MY GOD.
It's called Dear Theodosia Reprise
I think I deleted dear theodosia reprise-
Adding to Hamilton and Heathers. It's Quiet Uptown and Lifeboat.
DEAR THEODOSIA 2 REALLY GETS ME
“Wishing You Were Somehow Here Again” - Phantom of The Opera
“Seasons of Love” -Rent
“On My Own” - Les Mis
“I dreamed a dream” -Les Mis
“You Will Be Found” - Dear Evan Hansen
“Waving through a Window” - Dear Evan Hansen (the first time I heard it)
“Lifeboat” - Heathers
“I am Damaged” - Heathers
Oh I started getting emotional when I read "Wishing You Were Somehow Here Again" because it was played at my cousin's funeral. He loved Phantom of The Opera
Honestly, it’s hard for me to listen to Wishing You Were Somehow Here Again as well. My little sister died recently and I can only think of her when I hear it.
@@islathefoxchild2120 I’m so sorry for your loss
@@marymohr2799 I’m so sorry for your loss
this may be a “basic” answer but... nothing will ever make me cry like “I’ll Cover You (Reprise)” from Rent will.
Payton Carter same😭😭 I rewatched rent the other day and couldn’t stop sobbing
NEVER
The “I’ll cover you, reprise” the pain in Colin’s last note...Oh God.
Question Of The Day:

Love you Kat! ♥️
Heart of stone omg.
I weep when I hear Lydia sing "a little unconventional, I know, but Mama I'm home!" in the finale of Beetlejuice.
YASSSS Heart of Stone!! The saddest part is without a doubt when Jane sings "soon I'll have to go, I'll never see him grow, but I hope my son will know he'll never be alone"...IT'S SO FRICKIN SAD!!!!
Class???
It’s quiet uptown and home are *hhhhh*
DEH act 2 WRECKS ME
"Words Fail"
"So Big, So Small"
"The Bedroom Down the Hall" (which I don't think is in the show anymore...?)
One song and one song alone: "How Could I Ever Forget?" from Next to Normal. Gets me. Every. Single. Time.
Bro omg sameee. And I dreamed a dance, and I am the one reprise. Omgggggg I cry so hard everytime. Sorry I responded 2 years later lmao
“who lives who dies who tells your story”- Hamilton
As a history masters student, this song hits me hard at times. My thesis involves telling people’s stories and the legacies they left behind, which makes this song more meaningful to me
Maddie Yuschovitz this is so beautiful wow
She Used To Be Mine - Waitress
Still Hurting - The Last Five Years
What Would I Do? - Falsettos
True Love - Frozen
On My Own - Les Misérables

It’s Quiet Uptown - Hamilton
ALABANZA - In The Heights
Legally Blonde - Legally Blonde
My Mother (Eulogy) - Muriel’s Wedding
Memory Reprise - Cats
Ive just been scrolling through the comments trying to find acknowledgement for He's My Boy. It's so stunning and SO gut wrenching. Nothing encapsulates being or being brought up by a single mum quite like that song 💕
Farrah Alice Black So true! I was feeling really down the other day and just had it on repeat ALL DAY.
I really agree with Legally Blonde, the quote “Some girls were just meant to smile” gets me every time
people don't talk about how devastating legally blonde from legally blonde is, thank you
Munksfan1 it makes me cry most of the time, it’s nice to find someone who agrees with me
"Bare" from Bare: A Pop Opera destroys me everytime.
I try not to cry everytime it comes on spotify, IT IS JUST SO HARD NOT TO
goshhhh yes
Always, always bare. The version from the 2013 LA cast is so incredibly vulnerable and emotional that is watch it over and over and weep
"Everything" from Bare: A Pop Opera destroys me everytime
Same
This one is kinda weird, but “Dust and Ashes” from Great Comet kills me if I really feel it. That’sMY song. That’s the song that relates to me and my life and when I’m in the mood it is so cathartic and it absolutely destroys me. I’m always holding back tears when I sing it
YES GREAT COMET REPRESENTATION BUT ITS NATASHA AND PIERRE, THE GREAT COMET OF 1812, AND NO ONE ELSE FOR ME. THOSE SONGS MAKE MY HEART JUST DIE.
YAY SOMEONE UNDERSTANDS
Also, in my house and Natasha very ill make me cry a little too
The number one song that I can think of is this:
"The I Love You Song" from The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee
This song is just an emotional punch.
YES YES YES YES
"I'll Cover You (Reprise)" breaks me wide open. Like, I've seen that show four-ish times since 2001 and listened to the soundtrack dozens of times,, and the only difference is that now the first playing of "I'll Cover You" wrecks me too because I know what's going to happen with that one line.
"Someday", and "Finale" from Hunchback
"Edleveiss/Finale" - Sound of Music
"It's Quiet Uptown", "Stay Alive", "One Last Time" and "Who Lives Who Dies Who Tells Your Story" from Hamilton
"For Good" - Wicked
"Just One Second/A Million Miles" -Bridges of Madison County
"Somewhere in the Middle of Nowhere", "Me and the Sky" - Come from Away
"So Big/So Small" - DEH
"Something's Are Meant to Be" - Little Women
Just to name a few
*Also Kat's obsession with soup while PMS'ing is such a mood haha love you Kat
Laura Beth “who lives who dies who tells your story” ends me every time
@@kaityrose9619 Oh my gosh same 😂
for good and somethings are meant to be hit different
For Good and Some Things Are Meant to Be D E S T R O Y MEEEEEE
ps.- for those asking, my Wandering Oaken FROZEN sweatshirt is from My Oh My Supply Co !!! 💙❄️
The songs that come to mind are:
-my house from matilda
-letter from the refuge from newsies
-do i love because you're beautiful from cinderella
-i am here from come from away (and basically the entire soundtrack)
-happy/sad from addams family for some reason???
YES Letter from the Refuge is so depressing
“What Would I Do?” From Falsettos
“Michael in the Bathroom” from BMC
“Who Lives, Who Dies, Who Tells You’re Story?” From Hamilton
“Words Fail” from DEH
“I’ll Cover You (reprise)” from Rent
words fail is a musical masterpiece that i dont think we talk about enough, it genuinely leaves me gasping for air.
Did you mean: All of Falsettos
microwaved thermo ah yes i can definitely get my cry on to “bitch bitch bitch bitch funny funny funny funny “
mongadondasongynong I can hardly control my sobs when Mendel asks “does she sleep in the nuuuuuuuude?” 😔😔
Omg when Marvin said “shave your legs”😭😭
Stop yall im sobbing rn 😭😭😭
microwaved thermo hepa hepa hepatitis has my bawling 😭
1. Dreamer in disguise (reprise) - Carrie
2. I am damaged- heathers
3. Part of that- the last five years
4. Into the woods finale
5. Kindergarten boyfriend- heathers
Jamie Everything Part of That, that’s a new one, not the typical song chosen from The Last 5 Years
ME AND THE SKY, FROM COME FROM AWAY. “And the one thing I’ve loved more than anything was used as the bomb” KILLED ME. Also “take it from an old man” Waitress “let it on all yourself at once time” I SOB
Oh! And the song that ruined me was “Stay Alive Reprise” from Hamilton. Just listening to it is fine but when I saw it live and Eliza screams I just 😭😭😭
Also “It’s quiet uptown” broke me too...
Okay so maybe just Act 2 of Hamilton lol
Except for the election of 1800. lol
LiliDog same lol
RyBread same....
I finally saw Hamilton live on Sunday and I was unprepared for the screaM. I basically cried from this song forward. Eliza crying centerstage during “Quiet Uptown” killed me
When she counts in French I DIE
Question of the day:
"Left behind" from Spring awakening;
"I'd give my life for you" and "The movie in my mind" from Miss Saigon;
"Unlikely lovers" and "What would I do" from Falsettos;
"Best Kept Secret" and "Bare" from Bare;
Almost all of the songs from Les Miserables
There are definetly more but that's all I can remember now...
Left Behind is a terribly difficult one to get through unemotional.
Spec O Dust i agree
I have a whole playlist called “show tunes that make me cry”
I’m glad I’m not the only one.
I just called mine "Sobbing Right Now." But yeah. I don't get it when folks don't have a crying playlist. Isn't it such an important thing to have?
Mariah Lee share it please lol
I have one, Songs That Make Me Cry
“Words Fail” and “So Big So Small” being back to back just gets me bawling. Every time.
Edit: Oh! Who could forget “I’ll Cover You Reprise”?
Heart Of Stone from Six, It's Quiet Uptown from Hamilton and Paciencia y fe from In The Heights get me every time.
unruly heart from the prom makes me cry. i'm a lesbian and hearing the line "no matter what the world might say, this heart is the best part of me" really hits home, growing up in a homophobic environment.
honourable mentions:
ring of keys - fun home: young alison was me. seeing that representation makes me cry. the tony performance wrecks me)
pretty much the entirety of act 2 of falsettos: i got to see the off-west end production and sobbed.
bare: just like, all of it.
breathe, everything i know - in the heights: when this film comes out i'm gonna be a mess
Also as a lesbian - hello yes prom and fun home make me WEEP
Shnurffle Unruly heart makes me SOB.
Question of the day:
"Home" from Beetlejuice destroys me. Especially when you see it in the context of the show and you get the dialogue in there.
Also, "So Big/So Small" from DEH
Yes! Thank you, looking for "Home" in the comment section, now I'm finally .. home❤
Dear Evan Hansen: “Words Fail, “So Big/so small”
Oh my god, so big so small kills me every time
All grown up from Bare: A Pop Opera makes me die inside with the meaning behind it and it just kills me
"Slipping Through my Fingers"... something about the maternal fear of you child losing innocence makes me weep uncontrollably
I have NO idea why... but “We Raise Our Cups” from hadestown makes me sob my eyes out. every. single. time.
oh wait, yes i do.
because it’s beautiful and depressing and makes me want to be on broadway 2858829392x more
biggggg agree i think its because it closes the story without the story feeling like its over
“Words Fail” from Dear Evan Hansen ( I cry hard)
“You love who you love” from Bonnie & Clyde
“She used to be mine” from Waitress
"I am damaged" animatics from Heathers kill me every time. Also, *the* scream from "Stay alive reprise" rips my soul up every time
Song that DESTROYED me recently: show yourself from frozen 2. I sob when I watch it. I sob when I listen to it. Even thinking about it makes me emotional. It’s the animation, the music, the story. Just all of it. I can’t handle it 😂
FLOWERS FROM HADESTOWN. I just saw the show, and the raw emotion that Eva shows is just incredible. Love love LOVE that show
"She used to be mine" from waitress GETS ME
Oh man. So does "you matter to me" from waitress. Oh MAN
When I'm really sad I have a playlist with
Words fail
In the bedroom down the hall
Michael in the bathroom
Anything act 2 Hamilton
And more
Madison Law-McLeod in the bedroom down the hall is so underrated!!! I love it!! 😢
In The Bedroom Down The Hall and Hiding In Your Hands are amazing cut songs!
thats gotta be your crying playlist because words fail is so emotional
To answer the question of the day:
“The Great Comet of 1812” and “Sonya Alone” from The Great Comet of 1812
“For Good” from Wicked
“Dear Friend” from She Loves Me
“Where did the Rock Go” from School of Rock
“I’ll Cover You(Reprise)” from Rent
“Slipping Through my Fingers” from Mamma Mia
“Prayer” from Come From Away

“Goodbye Little Dream, Goodbye” from Anything Goes
“Can’t Help Falling in Love” and “There’s Always Me” from All Shook Up

Prayer and proud of your boy I literally can’t 😭😭
I’ll Cover You Reprise makes me weep every time I listen to it
Grace Files when I listen to sonya alone it is big cry hours
comet comet comet
Finally someone mentions For Good
When I saw "Next to normal" for the first time it broke me.
Oh well. ^^'
as a musician, i agree. my first time ever watching hamilton, i couldn’t stop shaking after. it moved me, and it is such an intense show for a kid. so i felt every emotion at once,
"Monster" from Frozen the musical. That song really resonated with me during the darkest times of my life
I think a lot of people already covered some of mine, but.
“Days of Plenty” from Little Women (also Something’s are meant to be)
“Finale” From Hunchback of Notre Dame
And “Another Room in Your Head” from Alice by Heart are pretty good ones that make me sob
Something's are meant to be makes me bawl!
Finally someone mentioning hunchback Finale!
Kasha B ikr! No one ever talks about it
I cannot get through the finale of hunchback without crying it’s literally impossible
ABH YAS
afternoon tho
“A Little Fall of Rain” from Les Mis. Every time I hear it I feel like crying for the rest of day.
In Meant to be yours-heathers. When J.D sees Veronicas dead body you can feel the pain in his voice. He just made me cry.
"Don't Do Sadness" from Spring Awakening
"Then There Was None" from Spring Awakening
"Bare" from Bare a Popera
"Road to Hell (Reprise)" From Hadestown
Practically all of act two of Falsettos
"Made of Stone" From Hunchback of Notre Dame
if we’re talking about bare you can’t forget “no voice” and “ever after”
Sophia Lisa how about just the whole second act of Bare
Spring Awakening is the only musical that has ever made me cry. Really, it’s a show I’ve related to on so many levels. Something that will always get me is Left Behind. I’ve never cried so hard from a musical song.
SAME SAME SAME SAme
A lot of Spring Awakening makes me so emotional, its just *such* a good show and so very underrated. Being a teenager myself it resonates so deeply. Every listen I take away something new.
Yes!! "Whispering" gets to me! 😭
Now the young lovers must struggle against all odds to build a world together for their child."
Right before the song "Whispering," Wendla finds out she is pregnant with Melchior's baby. The song tells the story of her mistake and the consequences that will come from it. After the song, she is taken by some men who her mother hires to perform an abortion. The abortion goes wrong and she dies. The song "Those You Know" talks about the two people who have then passed and how they walk beside Melchior #NotGone 😭
The play addresses the topic of rape, physical abuse, homosexuality, and grief...
The moment in “Who Lives, Who Dies” when Washington says “she tells my story” sends me to tears.

"Me and the sky" from Come From Away. I crumble at the end, always.
Pretty much this entire soundtrack for me. 😭
For me it’s, “Something Changed” from the same show.
1-“Words Fail” from Dear Evan Hansen
2-“Those You’ve Known” From Spring Awakening
3-“Requiem” From Dear Evan Hansen
4-“You Gotta Die Sometime” from Falsettos
