I’ve met so many people who bought the game specifically because of the Hypos, only to find out they were locked. Now Legacy is a game scheduled to be shut down and Evrima is a buggy unoptimized mess. This game is a cautionary tale if I’ve ever seen one- both to game devs and early access players.
@@fowlmarlee yeah, legacy is a version full of secrets, nobody knows what the devs were actually planning on doing with it... but thats why its special in its own way and gives a different vibe... my personal opinion is that, evrima is too modern, if we can say it like that, legacy is, legacy... i think they didnt need to start a game from a scratch, but update legacy version and fix its bugs and everything that needed to be fixed, for example, combat... now im so sorry for legacy, because legacy is better then evrima, for me, and i hope they add hypos and good stuff to evrima...

Seeing these past versions and there contents makes me feel slightly saddened I missed out on this journey since im relatively new. I will try to enjoy the Journey from where I joined in at least even if there are current issues with both late Legacy and early evrima.

Honestly miss this time even if they were locked (which sucked) the thrill of playing casually on a server only for it to start raining during the night, you hear the calls of one of these, multiple maybe, then the screen text comes on, you either logged off or went in serch of the thing. THAT was peek isle for me.
I remember catching a glimpse of the Hypo Giga's tail on the V3 map near the twins lake, the brief flash of lightning caused me to see its tail slinking away behind a human structure

Idk what's scarier the Hypo Spino or the Neuro On one end we have the biggest Hypo next to the Giga with a split jaw and its built like a tank with a blood curdling road And then the neuro Which is a bloody xenomorph spino equally as scary

TSL rex was still in the new the isle but when small predator attacks tsl rex it gets kill easy but when tsl rex attacks the small dinos it does nothign because its so old it cannot add a weigth

I think the fact that even The Gaming Beaver, probably one of the most iconic Isle TH-camrs, has pretty much switched to Path of Titans content spells out the fact that the Isle is finished. It's glory days are over.

The Hypos got their name changed. They used to be *Hypo* Endocrin, but the word "hypo" doesn't fit their mutations or behavior at all. Their name was changed to *Hyper* Endocrin, which is a word that describes them way better.
I actually had that color! If your account is flagged as a developer you have access to an expanded color palette. My friend who got me access to it is trying to figure out a way to make it available to anyone without them having to be flagged as a dev. So far no luck..but it’s still possible ☺️
love the models and animation so far but i do think the back half of the models is a bit stiff especially during calls that have dynamic movement in the front

i absolutely love that they are working on dinos that vast majority of players will never use instead of working on the dinos people actually want. Im about to drop the game for Path of titans because theres no content in evrima and the devs are slow as hell or not working on priority content

Well, when I made this the devs had been quoted saying that Legacy would eventually get removed. Now (as of April 7th to my knowledge) that is apparently not the case! I suppose we'll have to wait and see.

@@fowlmarlee Exactly, that's 100% the reason why I bought the game thinking "oh they'll be added soon" that was in 2017 I believe lmao not to mention on the earlier concept arts I saw was all with that green Hypo Rex. That was the first bit of content I saw of this game from back when they had the progression game mode.

i'm sorry dude but you bought an early access game. pretty much every game that has ever existed goes through a bunch of unused content before the developers land on something they want, it's just that most of those games release after that process is finished, or at least a state in which the plan has already been thoroughly decided on. the isle was not such a case, it became availible while it was still using the models from the stomping lands. like yea it would've been interesting to see what other directions they could've gone, but if you paid for the game for content that wasn't yet in it, then that's on you. i'd hold off on spending money on something unless you're sure you'll enjoy what it currently has to offer, rather than with the expectation that one day you will.
@@gwit4051 You make a good point but it's also worth pointing out that the devs would hand out this "unused" content to their favorite TH-camrs and Streamers like candy, which felt MASSIVELY misleading the a large chunk of the playerbase who bought the game after watching these videos and believing this content to be available. I totally agree Hypos shouldn't have been added until the devs figured out how to balance them but after 5 years of development for Legacy and 2/3 years of Evrima development, it's understandable that so many people are bitter that they still don't have the content they were deceived into believing they paid for.

Not much is really known, as the Lore to this game was moreso reliant on environmental storytelling (I assume the devs were building up to something but never got to it before the game's recode). Only now, for Evrima are they releasing tidbits of lore props here and there. I imagine it would be a somewhat darker Jurassic Park-inspired idea; creatures being genetically modified to possibly sell as living weapons. Hyperendocrins are larger than their basic counterparts, and well armored. They are near impossible to kill, and their only weakness seems to be near constant starvation due to the sheer amount of food they have to eat. Magnatyrannus is the only Magna strain playable, it sits squarely in the middle between basic Rex and Hyper Rex. Despite this it's known to have a somewhat successful chance of killing Hypers (some people even claim that they were created TO hunt Hypers, but again, I think 90% of lore for these creatures is speculative) Neurotenic is another strain, the "psychic type" of Afterthought's world. Neurotenic Spinosaurus (briefly shown at the end) is the only playable in-game, and is identical to normal Spinosaurus aside from the model. As far as concepts go, Neuros seem to be bioluminescent, blind, utilize EMP attacks, and have a bit of an "Alien" inspiration to their designs & abilities. Neuros are hyper intelligent and allegedly can also communicate with any species. I'd guess if they ever get put in Evrima, they'll be glass cannons. Hope this is the sort of response you were looking for, I'd really love to have more official hints regarding the lore of these creatures in the future.
An old version of the game, you have to downgrade (it'll be a separate file so it wont overwrite your current isle game). Then you just need to play on Open Hypos since we have them unlocked on that server
Am I the only one not a 12 to 16 year old who is not a fan of these monster dinos? Rex packs are already a cancer on Legacy, if all the kids who want "big bad dinos" get the hypos, it's gonna be very unfun for everybody else. I think I'm gonna stick to maining dinosaurs like Dilo.
In the very short time hypo rex was playable the entire player base was going apeshit about how strong it was so they removed it, I assume the way to balance that (They thought anyway) was to create more hypo dinos for competition with the singular hypo rex that existed and release them all at the same time alongside the rex again, based on the vids tho since I never played then hypo rex wasn't as cancer with packing since they get to starving stage absurdly quick and obviously another hypo is taking a crap tonne of food away from your one so naturally you kill it, the hypo dynamic was weird with game balance tbh.

Yeah, I notice a lot of old isle anims (hypos and sandbox dinos) are stiff in the back. All roars are the head and neck only

@@WalrusWinking The least they could've done when abandoning Legacy was to make Hypos accessible on sandbox game mode but they're weirdly possessive of these characters and would rather break their own game than to allow the community to enjoy them. Sad.
i'm sorry dude but you bought an early access game. pretty much every game that has ever existed goes through a bunch of unused content before the developers land on something they want, it's just that most of those games release after that process is finished, or at least a state in which the plan has already been thoroughly decided on. the isle was not such a case, it became availible while it was still using the models from the stomping lands. like yea it would've been interesting to see what other directions they could've gone, but if you paid for the game for content that wasn't yet in it, then that's on you. i'd hold off on spending money on something unless you're sure you'll enjoy what it currently has to offer, rather than with the expectation that one day you will.
@@gwit4051 You make a good point but it's also worth pointing out that the devs would hand out this "unused" content to their favorite TH-camrs and Streamers like candy, which felt MASSIVELY misleading the a large chunk of the playerbase who bought the game after watching these videos and believing this content to be available.
I totally agree Hypos shouldn't have been added until the devs figured out how to balance them but after 5 years of development for Legacy and 2/3 years of Evrima development, it's understandable that so many people are bitter that they still don't have the content they were deceived into believing they paid for.

Hypo rex was the very first one made, so yeah it looks pretty generic to everything else. But I think they're gonna remodel it.

Unfortunately the developers removed the code of most of these creatures from the game. The only way to access them now is to play on an older build

So, what's the lore behind these? They're obviously artificial.
Not much is really known, as the Lore to this game was moreso reliant on environmental storytelling (I assume the devs were building up to something but never got to it before the game's recode). Only now, for Evrima are they releasing tidbits of lore props here and there.
I imagine it would be a somewhat darker Jurassic Park-inspired idea; creatures being genetically modified to possibly sell as living weapons. Hyperendocrins are larger than their basic counterparts, and well armored. They are near impossible to kill, and their only weakness seems to be near constant starvation due to the sheer amount of food they have to eat.
Magnatyrannus is the only Magna strain playable, it sits squarely in the middle between basic Rex and Hyper Rex. Despite this it's known to have a somewhat successful chance of killing Hypers (some people even claim that they were created TO hunt Hypers, but again, I think 90% of lore for these creatures is speculative)
Neurotenic is another strain, the "psychic type" of Afterthought's world. Neurotenic Spinosaurus (briefly shown at the end) is the only playable in-game, and is identical to normal Spinosaurus aside from the model. As far as concepts go, Neuros seem to be bioluminescent, blind, utilize EMP attacks, and have a bit of an "Alien" inspiration to their designs & abilities. Neuros are hyper intelligent and allegedly can also communicate with any species. I'd guess if they ever get put in Evrima, they'll be glass cannons.
Hope this is the sort of response you were looking for, I'd really love to have more official hints regarding the lore of these creatures in the future.

An old version of the game, you have to downgrade (it'll be a separate file so it wont overwrite your current isle game). Then you just need to play on Open Hypos since we have them unlocked on that server

Indeed. You can still play as them through my server but it doesn't feel the same as if they were allowed/balanced into the gameplay

Am I the only one not a 12 to 16 year old who is not a fan of these monster dinos?
Rex packs are already a cancer on Legacy, if all the kids who want "big bad dinos" get the hypos, it's gonna be very unfun for everybody else.
I think I'm gonna stick to maining dinosaurs like Dilo.
In the very short time hypo rex was playable the entire player base was going apeshit about how strong it was so they removed it, I assume the way to balance that (They thought anyway) was to create more hypo dinos for competition with the singular hypo rex that existed and release them all at the same time alongside the rex again, based on the vids tho since I never played then hypo rex wasn't as cancer with packing since they get to starving stage absurdly quick and obviously another hypo is taking a crap tonne of food away from your one so naturally you kill it, the hypo dynamic was weird with game balance tbh.
Given anytime I saw/played these bad boys they were eating said rex packs I think it helped to thin them out
