But to be fair, there also exists a Scottish Matt McGinn who was also a songwriter, so it's easy to get confused. Hell, there's also an American guy called Matt McGinn that is ALSO a songwriter. For all the people confused in the comments egoism is a political ideology which ≠ egotism or narcissism. It is based on the fact that we should liberate our egos (self interest) from the facades created by the state and imposed social orders that steer us away from our interests and associate freely and voluntarily with unions of egos (or others who share interests similar to ours). It’s quite a radical mode of individualism. It doesn’t mean as well that it posits humans don’t help each other but that altruistic people do it out of their ego and self interest. It is kind of funny how Scotland is depicted with an ‘egoist flag’ like Stirner rules over as egoist king. Nation states wouldn’t exist lol or in this theoretical universe of yours is it only ex Scottish citizens who break down the functions of the state and remove restrictive imposed social structures 😂
