Ep. 87 BEADED MOSAIC INSECTS and starting an eggshell mosaic to take on the road!
This week I work on finishing my set of six small beaded mosaics with a beaded mosaic dragonfly and butterfly. The body and adhesive for the beads is black Apoxie Sculpt. In the midst of finishing up, I draw thumbnail sketches for a winter landscape, followed by painting in the “background.” I show how to prep the eggshells and paint with acrylics.
The beaded projects are mounted with Power Grab and GE II Silicone. They are so sparkly and beautiful!
I begin gluing down the eggshell pieces using diluted Weldbond. Each piece is pressed and separated with tweezers- a therapeutic process for me!
Then I take the whole thing on the road and even work on it in the car. More eggshells are prepped and glued down at my destination. Best of all- I didn’t have to worry about glass shards in the car or at my relative’s home!
