FYI DJ's, this is how its done. pure mixing and selection. no fiddling. no dancing, no waving around like a goon. no major hits. pure depth of character.
Can’t deny Digweed it’s one of the best of the scene but a little Dance or interaction it’s also part of a Good Dj, Cox for example, so i don’t think if a Dj dances to its music could affect the whole gig, just saying, one of the best sets i’ve seen so far btw
I think dancing is okay, and I like when a DJ is interacting with us, and we enjoy the music together. What I hate is fake button spinning and smashing.
@Dj Luminol Yeah, for me it was trying to replicate parts of his GU Los Angeles mix. I can get close, but never could quite get the same blend in the transitions. Early on I swore up and down he had special mixes of the tunes made for him, that had more/different sounds than the records I had.
good stuff, When I saw him for the first time in 1997 some friends and I christened him as the "Londoner" because we did not know how really his name was lol
his mixing is my kind of style . A simple yet perfect beat match and transition from one track into the other no fades in and out or crossfader antics. The music does the talking to your ears .
Saw him in 1997 playing Xochilta, near Mexico City, proudly I can say that I have seen him up to 15 times since then in Playa del Carmen, Tulum, Twilo (closing in 2000), and Mexico City several times.
@@franco5142 That has nothing to do with techno. LOL. If you want to know what techno is, listen to sets from years 1998 to 2002, from artists like Richie Hawtin, Carl Cox, Derrick May, Laurent Garnier, Umek, Marco Carola, Billy Nasty, Adam Beyer... Try listening Richie Hawtin - Timewarp 2002, also Beyer from the same party. Or Carl Cox - Dance terminal 1999. Jeff Mills and Derrick May are one of rare that stayed with the original sound , specially Mills. That is/was techno, not the bull shit nowdays kids are listening to . This is not the same thing, not same genre. You can't say Rolling stones are rock'n'roll , just newer.. It is rock. Something different. By the way Diggers is the best :)
@@maranezzi21 Adam Beyer hasn't been techno for ages. Big room dull prog. You're missing Dave Clarke off that list too :-) Definitely some techno in here but I agree - not pure techno.
@@davidscholes3438 Well like i said from 2002 :-). I mean he played techno at least till 2005 , i dont remember anymore. I never liked Dave Clarke though. He was allways boring with that delay... i mean he played great music, but he didn't have finesses like Cox, Garnier, Hawtin... I forgot to mention Marco Bailey (he had great sets, but production even better ) and i am sure someone else, but you get the point. Saundersons xmix was great, but otherwise he had more mild/quality techno. There is some techno 10 minutes before end here in this Digweed set, but thats allmost all.
@@davidscholes3438 Nowadays Beyer music is total shit if you ask me. Just superficial banging, no depth, no magic, no.... Computer and sync and beat on a beat... Boring
Omg!! The way he transitions into "Craft" by Adriatique (very noticeable at 8:44) although can be heard at 8:30 and 8:10. That track is my track of the year. I've no doubt I've listened to it 100,000 already 😍🥰🔥
Put this on through the big speakers for background music while I work. Amount of work getting done is far less than the amount of dancing around the room like a lunatic!!
a master at work, its weird to see him playing in the daytime though ! and in Switzer-conservative-land !!! :-D god his mixing is flawless. him and Sasha are the best !
John digweed his set at Glastonbury 2022 so so good quality absolutely slamming I had such a good dance really stomping you know the one like this set a sounding really good too 😘🙏👊🏻
Diggers is Water...Crystal Mountain water... exclusively devoted dj...just remember his Kiev 2006 Bedrock gig.... a lot of junkies who dont even care WHAT KIND OF HUMAN visit 'em. But this is J.DIGWEED - he played just what he felt to play IN THAT VERY MOMENT FOR SPECIFIC CROWD(hollowed youngsters mostly).
The very good video of the year was that you were a good friend and a great company to work with and enjoy the time you spend with your family and your friends are going well so far and I hope that you will find a way
What a set….❤
John comes from the era when the music was the attraction not the DJ….
Pure underground rich melodic tunes no commercial bs , pure art form legend Mr Digweed , respect Sean South Africa 🇿🇦
Lol is it Nick Warren casually vibing and drinking beer in the crowd at 29:15 ? Even the greatest of all come to listen to Digweed lool
HAHAH it looks like him but I don't think it is.
it's not
When I started listening to John Digweed he was young. Damn I'm old.
Gary W-l-o-t 😂 😂 you've grown old listening to good music :)
Wright!
Yeah, I first listened to Global Underground 019 (John Digweed in LA) back in the 90s.

Electronic music from another level !!

Why shouldn't the DJ have a little dance?
It’s not like you cannot dance but that’s just his personality... he’s there to work and that’s the way he enjoy it... the master
Can’t deny Digweed it’s one of the best of the scene but a little Dance or interaction it’s also part of a Good Dj, Cox for example, so i don’t think if a Dj dances to its music could affect the whole gig, just saying, one of the best sets i’ve seen so far btw

Dudes always playing new music, often from unknown producers/ DJ's. Always loved that about him. Always breaking new music fir the little guys.
Watching Digweed perform his art of dj'ing calms my nerves and raisses my spirit!!! HERO!! For ever Digweed!

Progressive house, techno, acid, this man is an authentic craftsman of music.
Pensar que hace 4 dias estaba escuchando a este señor en vivo en el dia de la primavera. LLORO

How can djs of today compare to Sir John Digweed, they just can't. By far the greatest dj of the scene of the last 30 years.

Such a legend, his mixing is out of this planet, not many djs can mix like him or make such an amazing and coherent track selection.
AGAIN time after time the WIZARD pulls yet another slamming set out of his magic hat NO1

going on 30 years strong! never get old folks! keep the vibes going until the universe turns us back into the dust from whence we came!
