- Just a little update.
Hi there :) We're Marc & Allys, a couple who left the UK in 2021 to search of somewhere we could build a homestead. This led us to one of Portugal's beautiful natural parks.
Self-sufficiency is important to us, whilst we're not off grid, we're keen to rely less and less on external systems. Follow us as we take on many things for the first time - learning as we go. DIY, Gardening, Growing our own food, Homestead'ing, Studying our land, Learning about permaculture and other farming techniques. We also plan to regenerate our abandoned land and create a thriving ecosystem - which isn't an easy task given we're in Portugal's hottest region (Alentejo!)

Very understandable. Take your time. Your health and happiness is most important. The videos come as they come. And to get my regular garden/permaculture fix I watch multiple projects anyway. 👍

I'm especially interested how things are with the land regeneration project. though it's winter now, not much will be growing, but how was the progress over it the last year. do you see any positive results?

Thanks for the update guys. Rest up and re-energise. Don’t burn out trying to keep all the plates spinning. Your health must always take priority. We’ll miss your content of course but I’m sure all your followers will much rather you’re successful concentrating on your primary business.
Glad you posted the video to stop us all from worrying if the videos suddenly stop. We get attached to you as people, your personalities and lifestyle and genuinely care about you.
Other Portugal channels we follow, 1 packed up yesterday and another has just disappeared altogether a couple of months ago with no explanation! Very sad.

Its kind of you to update us and let us know that you and Ally's are ok.
Its not surprising that you were burnt out, you need to slow down a bit and maybe do shorter videos for a while if you are able to.
Where we live, its been 43c here for the past week, so I totally understand not wanting to video outside.
Take a step back, relax a bit and try to prioritise your work/life/socialising. Don't forget that most You Tubers do this type of work as a full time job. You are trying to to do two full time jobs and fit everything else in also. Its a recipe for burnout.
Look after yourselves, and I look forward to seeing you two around as and when you are able. 💐

Hay, take a good long break. Coming from a single mom with a company- 50 employees and a property with gardens and food forest. It all takes time. Save the best time for yourself and your joy the work you choose to do- totally

Good to hear from you. Honestly, take the break you need. Consider making shorter videos when you do some back. Another TH-camr I follow makes short, ten minute videos a day and it’s a brief look at progress on his project. I think daily for ten minutes is too much too but what I’m trying to say is little updates occasionally are an option too. Take care and see you when you feel up to it.
