I've seen in other videos about this machine that the kneading paddles should be pointing in the same direction before adding your ingredients. This is to prevent the loaf from being lopsided.

Great point! I also spray the inside of my paddles with baking spray to get them out easier.

@@whiskeredreviewsthe other (easier) way is, after baking, just fill the bucket with enough water to cover the paddles. After some time (15 minutes? 30? I dunno) the paddles slide right off as any flour that might have worked its way in will have dissolved.

All nonsense! My first bread machine was a Black & Decker. It made 2.5 lb loaves with one paddle in a vertical loaf pan that yielded uniform slices of bread. It lasted me for almost 20 years, and I use it once a week. I replaced the loaf pan only once, and that was my only "repair". Years ago, I paid $35.00 for it.

I just got my PAC 20 (earlier virtuoso model) out and made some bread in it for the first time in a couple years. Dang tasty bread. Here's a tip, instead of using baking spray on the paddles just soak the pan in water for a little while and they will pop right out.

Hi, folks. Question here. I'm a complete noobie at this stuff. I bought this model and have made a couple loaves, but they are HUGE. I'm assuming I can't just cut the ingredients in half to make a smaller loaf... right? Is there more to it (e.g. lowering a time or temp setting)?

Do you know how long the rest, kneading, riseing, and baking cycles are? The books that came with my bread machine only indicated when it will beep to add extra ingredients. I have tried to contact the company on several occasions but to date they have not responded. Therefore, I really appreciate your assistance.

Does it leave big holes / flopping where the paddles are? Can l take them out before baking to prevent holes

      Exactly my question.

You can take them out during baking if you wish. I usually don't. I don't think it makes that big of holes.

Your video popped up and have you made cake and yogurt yet? Still happy with this machine?
It seems all these bread machines are made in China so is it still worth spending so much? Thanks 😊

Yes! I've made yogurt and I agree about the cheap machines. We use this almost weekly. We love the pizza dough it makes! The recipe booklet with that recipe in it is worth the cost of the machine lol!
We haven't had any issues with it. It's rock solid and does an incredible job with everything we throw at it. Worth the price IMHO.

@@whiskeredreviews thanks and I also read that Zoji s bucket needs to be replaced every couple of years and it costs around $100!
      The dollars are adding up.

A Zojirushi sells for $400 at Amazon. You have to be out of your mind to pay that much for a motor, a small computer circuit board,, a heating element, and a case ! Even the effort to come up with a fancy name, though praiseworthy as entertainment, "I own a Zojirushi", does not merit such a price.
