Watching this made me realize that I have NO BUSINESS trying to attempt all this. But, thank you for sharing what you could be getting yourself into when doing this😅😂❤
I feel like this video was made specifically for ME lol. I'm taking down that exact light fixture (mine is in way worse shape rust wise) and replacing it with a smaller version of that light fixture you put in. I'm also plan on adding a frame to my mirror so I guess I'm headed to find your video on how to do that! Thanks!!
I'm changing one at my aunts house just like it but the globes are upright. However the silver plate will not connect to the junction box bc there is no drywall behind it
thanks, I have a really similar bathroom and I hate it. a lot of your changes are similar to what I've had in mind and it looks great. excited to save some money and try some of this myself. thanks for sharing
Remember Mr. Beefmaster SAFTEY is what you should be showing your viewers and installing an electrical box for that light fixture would be the safest way of doing this project . Best Regards
Thanks for the video.. I probably would have put in an old work box where the wire was coming through the wall. But we all have a different way of doing things!.. 😂
Well I was about to get rid of the long mirror in my bathroom like yours and saw you made that wooden frame around yours and I have to do this. Now that mirror can continue living in my home! Thanks for this video!
There should be a junction box cut in for the light instead of leaving exposed wires sticking straight out of drywall because if those wires were to spark it may start a fire. You can get an old work box which can mount itself on to drywall or use a metal pancake if it's on a stud. Other than that, great tutorial. Love the video
I want to paint my cabinets, can I jusy go over the white sealant or is it must to use a heat gun???? I was hoping to make it simple. I have a small bathroom which means small vanity
Awesome video and ideas. Beside the cabinet repaint which looks great the other things don't look so much like an upgrade but more like a change of style. We get tired to see what we have and changing it suddently looks better even if it's not (but not worse). The black light faucets are not better neither are the black light fixture. IMO
There should be a junction box for every light fixture, even the vanity he just changed out. I'm not sure why the last guy who installed the old fixture never bothered to cut in one
I replaced a bathroom light fixture exactly like this one out in the Midwest. And it too had a wire coming out the wall like that...shouldn't the wire be in an electrical box in the wall?
@@beefmaster_james New to your channel and venturing into doing home projects by myself now. If you have a tutorial on the junction box, I would appreciate it if you replied with a link. I did enjoy this video. Is the first one I watch, but hoping is not the last. I have a growing list of little projects I need to tackle. Thanks in advance!🙂🙏
Only around the gnome door. They get a little fussy if you paint more than that. You may have to do more depending on how big the hole was and the fading of the old paint.
I don't know everything about home renovations, but I'm pretty sure you're supposed to put in an old work electrical box. Having the wires stick out of drywall is probably a code violation.
rookie, you failed code by having no light junction box in the wall, can't just wire it uoop with no box like you did tosave $1 man, be safe not sorry.
This was literally the video I needed. First try! And your fixture is just a bigger version of my light I'm putting up. Got to love God's providence!
You are literally the viewer I needed. Thanks for watching.
@@beefmaster_james if u turned off the breaker but if u check the wire still there is power, why is that?
2 yr old video and still saving lives! Thank you for showing all the things!
Finally. A video with my exact old light fixture that i need to replace. Thank you. No,I’m not that handy. 🤙🏻🤙🏻🥴

Wow my friend you gave more than what I asked for. You gave a drywall patch lesson that I was tirelessly looking for. Thank you.
I did it for you, Shayanne
I came here to learn how to install a gnome hole behind my vanity light, thank you!
LOL
😂
😅😅😅
10/10 special effects.
S Tier quality.
I thought this guy sounded exactly like you
Thanks so much. I would never have imagined each socket was screwed into the mounting bracket!
You are very welcome. Took me a minute to realize that, too.
New here, But you told me I'm worth it.... So I subbed.
Thank you for such clear direct instruction, not a single sentence of unnecessary info.
As an industrial electrician these videos are always helpful lol
Wow, that is the exact same light fixture I'm replacing, some cheap 15 vanity light, thanks for this vid!
I'm changing one at my aunts house just like it but the globes are upright. However the silver plate will not connect to the junction box bc there is no drywall behind it
I'm learning so much from your videos. Thank-you! I'll be changing a faucet this week and light fixture next week!
Very well done. Clear, in focus and everything I need to know for light fixture removal.
Thank you!!! I want to do this for a family member 🥰.

Yeah Whoever Built The Home That Installed The Old Light Fixture They Did Not Want To Put A Outlet Box.

What happened to the bare copper ground wire... ??
Yes, that one is missing in his tutorial
That was my first reaction too. I am no expert but grounding is important particularly in a bathroom?
Wrap this wire around the separate screw on the mounting bracket and tighten. Normally, this screw is marked green.
@@veqonceI have one coming out of the wall, and one from the light fixture itself. Which do I wrap about the grounding screw? Or both?
@@lindsay7661 you can put both in a wire nut then pigtail that to the green ground screw
Thank you ! I have the same fixture and am wanting to change it ... not so scary to do..cut the elec off and I'm good 🤓
Awesome!
Now I'm going to build my SHED...!!!😂😂
“ First I’m gonna Forget to hit record” 🤦🏻♂️😒🤪 lol / Fantastic video thanks man
Great video! I have a copper-looking third wire that I think is “ground”? Do I need to worry about that one?

Beautiful dude..nice👍👍👍👍
Very nice. Thank you.
what a nice video. Thank you!
I typed and you , my genius ,appeared ! Thank you ! No Afro , I turned off the elec ! Thank you 🙏🏼🙏🏼😂😎🔥so easy
what became of the ground wire from the wall?
Wrap this wire around the separate screw on the mounting bracket and tighten. Normally, this screw is marked green.
What about the ground/green wire?
Are u able to replace the sockets on them?

I'm having problems with that bc I have nothing for the silver plate to adhere to bc there is a big hole and no drywall behind it.
This is what I ran into. So I had to cut an opening for an old work box. It worked, but it was a scary undertaking since I never did that before.
That was awesome! Thank you!
You are awesome!
Subbed for the name b/c we need moar beef, came back for the DIY vid 👍
Bro, you are one classy man.
Those damn wall gnomes!

Thanks so much for watching.
So cute!
Why isn't there a junction box ? is it not required in this scenario?
There should be a junction box for every light fixture, even the vanity he just changed out. I'm not sure why the last guy who installed the old fixture never bothered to cut in one
yes, it's required. it could have been an older home, or building code was not properly enforced, or it was non-permit work (hack job)
I replaced a bathroom light fixture exactly like this one out in the Midwest. And it too had a wire coming out the wall like that...shouldn't the wire be in an electrical box in the wall?
Thanks for watching Yasser. Definitely preferred to have a junction box when possible.

@@beefmaster_james it shouldn't be a preference. a junction box is a must, per code
I love watching your videos, im learning a lot with them. Thanks ❤
No electrical box?
Did you have to repaint the whole wall or just where the gnome hole was? Trying to not have to paint the bathroom after i change the light fixture
Only around the gnome door. They get a little fussy if you paint more than that. You may have to do more depending on how big the hole was and the fading of the old paint.
No visual on how to wire all the wires together to wall wires?
Side quest to fix the hole lol
Thank you.
Mr . BeefMaster , aren't you supposed to install an electrical box before installing that light fixture ?
That would be too safe lol
How did you connect the wires buddy? Anyone can mount a bracket to a wall...
Haha this was my question too. I thought I missed something
I only have a black wire and copper wire exposed my white wires are sealed what do I do
Muchas gracias!
junction box?
Good video, thanks
That installation NEEDS a junction box!
Mounting plate is upside down. He's got the head of the green ground screw against the wall. The mounting screws will screw in from either side.
🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
The problem is you have to fix up the wall before you can install the new fixture. Finding paint that matches your old paint is nearly impossible!
You sound aloy like jerry rig everything 😂
great value brand jerryrig
What about the ground cable…
Why there is a stair in the bathroom?😁
Literally the same old light I am changing

I scare to do the electrical part 😢
You got this. Just kill the power and don't chew on the wires if they are live and you will be fine.
Is it not illegal in many areas to "just" feed the wires through a hole, and NOT add an actual BOX? Hmmmm.
Little gnomes...
😂😂😂😂
10/10
you neglected to talk about the ground wire !!!!
😮😢L
Wtf where your ground copper wire?! Gnomes most of stole it?!….. edit yo video man

THE WOOD FRAME. ON THAT COLOR PALLET. IS DOWN RIGHT UGLY. GAH! PAINT IT BLACK LIKE THE HARDWARE.
