    Hallelujah! I've recently been struggling with my walk in Christ: I'm a very theoretical guy, the "know-it-all" type of person who remembers a lot of things.
    I had realized that my knowledge had been empty and vain in itself, and that I had been missing some of the relational side of the faith.
    The true gospel doesn't require a master's degree to be understood, after all the Bible does say about the true way that not even the dumbest one will get lost on the path. (Not a direct quote)
    While watching the video, God opened my heart in some way, that is extremely difficult for me to describe, to receive the truth about the relational side, and to believe it fully.
    May He be glorified forever and ever, for He truly is worthy of all our praise. Amen.

    I've read the book and can't find Jesus anywhere in Proverbs. I am Jewish, 70 years old and have never found Jesus in my Bible. Tanakh. And maybe you Mike can tell why any part of Tanakh was left out, ex. Hosea 11:1 or mistranslated, ex. Isaiah 7:14 or Isaiah 9:5 "for a child HAS been born rather than the Christian versions 9:6 for a child "will?" be born. Anyway I'm sure you get the idea. Can you tell me why this has been done to Tanakh other than to make it look like Jesus? Thanks.

    • @caos1925

      What odd things you are told, I know of no bible that leaves out Hosea 11:1, or you think Isiah is talking about king Hezekiah son, that he is the mighty God and would reign forever? Dr. Michael Brown was once Jewish too, before he saw that Jesus is the Messiah and so much more. He will even take calls from viewers to have discussions like this.

    • @jewishgirl752
      @jewishgirl752 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@caos1925 Well Adam, you don't speak a word of Hebrew do you? If you did you would know just what Hezekiah means in Hebrew. You look it up in a TANAKH and learn for yourself. It has nothing to do with the messiah or Jesus. Hosea 11:1 is cut short in EVERY Christian bible. Again go to TANAKH! The FIRST bible ever written. Hundreds of years before the first Christian bible was ever even thought of, and do you know who compiled that bible, how many books were in it and when?? I do and as I said, I'm a Jew. Lastly, I couldn't give a hoot about Michael Brown. He is a misguiding Christian from the get go. Sorry. I guess there is one more thing. Why don't you tell me, from the Hebrew bible where you find Jesus in the Proverbs. Thanks.

      Helen----GOD was not, "BORN." HE was NEVER a, "CHILD." And GOD
      was NEVER, "Given." It is GOD the FATHER, Who "GAVE," or, "Brought
      Forth" the Christ child. We can call Jesus, "Wonderful," because the
      Righteous "Spirit' of the FATHER dwells IN him. And the terms, "Lord,

    You should read what ALL the Fathers said about Proverbs 1-9, too. What is being taught in modern seminaries about Proverbs is in fundamental rift from how the Second Temple Jews and the Early Church understood it, and it is heavily influenced by German anti-theists. If your hermeneutic method contradicts that used by Jesus, the Evangelists, and the Apostles, I would humbly submit that there is something wrong with your hermeneutic, not with them! I've heavily revised my understanding of the scriptures after realizing that I was being led astray by people who didn't even know they were allying with the enemies of God.

    I've just finished your Jesus in the Old Testament series Mike and I have to say, me and my mother gained a lot of insight from it and we learned quite a few new things. Proverbs 30 is really interesting, because, besides you, I have never heard anyone else preach from it. It's truly an overlooked part of scripture that not nearly enough preachers are talking about.

    • @joshwaterman5526
      @joshwaterman5526 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Lots of preachers talk about what the people want to hear not what they should hear. It’s a big issue in the church as many pastors want as many people to follow them as they can get but they leave out things that are sometimes hard to understand or just hard to swallow and they are vital for our walk with God.

    Even if Agur didn't mean it like that personally, maybe the son was Israel? Or another? if it is a prophetic faith you could take that on your own responsibility and quote it as pointing out to the future of the Messiah and it would apply. If I'm not mistaken Matthew did this.

    According to Clear Cut Scripture----GOD the FATHER is the "One and
    ONLY True GOD." No matter how hard one tries to TWIST, and PER-
    VERT, John 17:3, and John 20:17, ( and many OTHERS), Jesus is
    NOT GOD!
    Why do you think GOD the FATHER is referred to as, "GOD THE FA-
    THER?"
    AND;
    Why do you think Jesus is referred to as;
    "The Son OF GOD?"
    "The Lamb OF GOD?"
    'The 2ND ADAM?"
    "A PROPHET?"
    "A MAN of Sorrows...?"

    "Not knowing God" isn't solved by Christ. How many Christians have talked about doubt, the dark night of the soul and so on. Just look at the life of Saint Theresa Of Lisieux. Judaism is full of mysticism and attempts to know and experience god directly.

    I need help; I love Christophanies and Mike´s "Jesus in OT series." But there is a slightly different way to read these verses in Proverbs where "name" and "son" would not refer to God and to the Son of God. When reading it this way, Agur´s rhetorical questions would be about "any man," and the answers would still be accurate, something like "no man, only God." It would read something like this, paraphrasing:
    ...I am ignorant, I do not know the Holy One. (Who does?). Who, (which man) has ascended ...and descended? (No one, only God.) Who (what man) has gathered the wind...? (No man, only God). Who (which man) has bound the waters...Who (what man) has established the earth? (C´mon, tell me what man!, ....see?, there isn´t one; only God.) What is his (that man´s) name, (...and where does that man live? ...Aha! you can´t tell me, no such man). What is the name of his (that man´s) son? (Aha! You can´t tell me because there is no such man, only God has done all these things).
    How is it not that way? How do we know the questions are not referring to man? Understanding it this way would still yield correct answers, "only God has done those things," but changes who "name" and "son" refer to.

    Even Paul said that we look through a glass darkly, and that he hadn't yet arrived.
    Christians follow Paul like he is Christ, psychologically speaking, not as one to follow, as he followed Christ. Christians tend to look at everything in The Bible, all truth, through the eyes of Paul, rather than directly from the place of Jesus Christ first.
    To follow Christ, we need to go to His teachings and examples directly, plus that which He directly revealed to Paul and others.
    The "glasses" we need to wear as we interpret all that is in The Bible, including Paul's writings, are the glasses of Jesus Himself, who is perfect, has always been perfect, and has/had perfect understanding and perspective. When we do this, our eyesight becomes such as to be ones who don't need glasses at all because Jesus's understanding is perfect and complete.

    He shall see of the travail of his soul, and shall be satisfied: by his knowledge shall my righteous servant justify many; for he shall bear their iniquities.-Isaiah 53:11
    What is his knowledge here? What kind of knowledge makes many people righteous and able to bear their sins?
    That knowledge is the knowledge of salvation, and the knowledge of his name, that is, the name of the king who would bear their sins instead of his people, whom many in the past who wanted salvation wanted to know in the name of the savior.
    for he was cut off out of the land of the living: for the transgression of my people was he stricken.-Isaiah 53:8
    Those who desire salvation are those who have realized that they cannot save themselves by their own strength. After all, the salvation they want is for the source of salvation that can never belong to them, that is, the savior, the king.
    And the king's name represents the king's sovereignty and power to the whole world and his people.
