Yeah, now that you mention it he does kind of sound like David back in the day. I used to dislike Kirk's performance. It's nothing against him personally, I just felt that Shadow's voice felt off in Generations. Seeing that he's improved so much since then is awesome.
Kirk Thornton seems to be getting shadow's voice down, finally, in the beginning he sounded so much like vegeta but it's understandable, Even Jason Griffith sounded weird the first time shadow appeared in Sonic X, He sounds more similar to the shadow from adventure 2 and Sonic Heroes which was voiced by David Humphrey
It's kinda like when Jason took over from Drummond, in the first episode of Sonic X, Jason tries to sound like Drummond especially with that nasally voice

And the hate he gets isn't warranted, because he CAN act. It was a miscast or misdirection, if anything, at the start of it all.
I feel like the voice actor for sonic was gonna say he didn't like amy. or that he was gonna state it's only cannon in sonic boom. Sega actually said sonamy is only cannon in sonic boom so ya. but who knows... can't wait for season two!!

This officially took a place before Sonic and the gang are going to appear next in Season 2. I really like how Sonic cheered Amy up by talking about SonAmy and saying the there is always the 50th anniversary. At least the relationship didn’t changed with Sonic and Amy after that event before they are being in Season 2 next after that.
