    What band did your agency go with? Or are they still debating procurement for your patrol rifles?

    • @warpaint9095
      @warpaint9095 วันที่ผ่านมา +5

      I actually do not know what brand our SWAT guys use. However, our agency does not have a patrol rifle program, in which they issue rifles to patrol units. If you want a rifle in your car, it has to be a personal rifle, in which you qualify with in order to use it on duty.

    My department just recently switched from Bushmaster to Troy Industries. I just qualified with the TPR 14.5 and I love it. Came patrol ready out the box with irons, sling, 4 mags, and forward grip/stop. Only thing we added was an Aimpoint sight and light. Our SROs are getting the 11.5 version with a suppressor.

      My agency issues nothing😂 I have to buy all my own stuff. And we’re not a small department out in the middle of no where, our PD is literally surrounded by Dallas. I ended up going with a SOLGW 13.7 p&w M89. Still gotta do the Patrol Rifle course next month so I can actually carry it. But at least it’s mine when I leave. But damn, that sounds like a badass set up!! Be safe out there.

    Just upgraded to DDM4V7s. Had to compromise with the optics so we ended up with the Eotech 512. Stream light weapon light and Magpul two point slings.
    All in all pretty happy, especially considering they were initially going to buy Palmetto AR’s.

      I love and trust my Bushmaster M4A3 Patrolman with my life that I bought back in 2018. Haven't had any issues and I shoot more than most average joes(free range shooting and certified class shooting) and that's on top of RELIGIOUSLY dry firing at Least once a day. I was sceptical about buying it at first because of the fact that Bushmaster went down the crapper but that rifle was calling my name and I haven't regretted it since. The only problem I can say about my girl Madani is she doesn't like Tula Ammo, after a few rounds I'll have to manually rack another round into the chamber.

    Surely there is better options but Sionics makes IMO the best bang for your buck .

    I am excited to see Faxin now building suppressors, the factory is 20 minutes from my door, and hoping the made in texas suppressor case builds ground and it will in turn spread, and this garbage with suppressors goes away.

    I'm wanting to move my agency from 16" Bushmasters with some China 50 lumen crappy light to SOLGW 14.5 Exo with Surefire turbo lights. I almost had the deal made but we are going through a change of command which put a pause in the purchase.
    I was almost able to get new optics, the Aimpoint duty rds but we ran out of money. So we are probably going to swap over our Aimpoint Pros.
    I'm grandfathered in and get to carry a 14.5 BCM with T2 and Rein 3.0. Radian CH, bolt catch and safety selectors. Geissele SSA trigger.

    My agency issues 11.5 Springfield Saints with eotechs and enforce lights and gem tech suppressor. We’re slowly switching to ADM 14.5’s and 13.9’s but that’s a long time in the making. Since I’m on SWAT I can change whatever I want, so I opted for my Sig 4T Pro and a Cloud 3.0. I don’t hate the Springfield, but it’s heavy for an 11.5. My BCM/Criterion frankenbuild with the same set up is lighter. We also run 55 grain Gold Dot but there are talks of getting us 77g OTM. I’m very impressed on how much my agency listens to us gun guys and takes things into account. Our training budget is also ridiculously generous.

    This is such a simple topic to cover.
    BCM 16” or SOLGW 16”
    Aimpoint T-2
    Surefire scout WITH A BUTTON.
    Blue force or Magpul Two point sling.
    Pressure pads fail and most guys lack training to run them correctly, The T-2 is the gold standard change the battery once a year and keep it on forever.
    If you want a suppressor use an 11.5 with a flow through can and run 77 Grain.

    • @IronInfidel
      @IronInfidel  วันที่ผ่านมา +7

      Maybe, depends on environment and budget. I haven't had a pressure pad fail in a while and if people are not trained properly they should not be issues or allowed to carry the gear.

    Stop doing 1/7 twist riffles and stick with 1/8 twist rifles. I don't know who started this 1/7 twist rifle crap but they are a idiot. You want hits where you shoot, otherwise you are just wasting time and putting people's life on the line.

      Well we regularly take 1/7 rifles to 1k so there's that.

    • @terrarecon
      @terrarecon วันที่ผ่านมา +11

      To answer your question, the 1/7 twist originated from NATO's military trials in the 1980s for the M16A2 and its new ammunition requirements at the time. However, you mention sticking with 1/8, which was developed by competition shooters and barrel manufacturers for match-grade performance.
      The 1/7 is currently used by all branches of the United States military today. The M16A2, M16A4, M4 Carbine, and Mk 18 CQBR all use the 1/7 twist. So, if you think 1/7 is not viable then don't use it. But feel free to tell the military powers that be and the infantry units and elite units (Delta, MARSOC, Rangers, SEALs, Air Force Special Warfare, SRT) that use rifles and carbines with a 1/7 twist they are idiots.

      You don’t know who started it? That would be the US military when they switched from The M16A1 with 1:12 to the M16A2 with 1:7. That was literally the cornerstone for all modern AR’s lol. The 1:8 is the “I don’t know who started this crap” twist rate in real life. Geez where do they find you people 😂
