I like to see a neighborhood walk around video for cities I am considering. Helps me get a better feel for a place that you can't get with specific clips at various attractions.
I was just in Georgetown a few days ago for the day (cruise ship stop). Enjoyed seeing the same streets again. Twenty minutes is a good length for a walking video. Have been enjoying the variety of your content.👍
Great walking video, thanks guys! Would be great to get an update of your costs and monthly expenses, and if you’ve had to adjust your year budget accordingly due to inflation etc.. Great work thanks to you both 😀👍
Love the walkabout tours Neil. Don’t care how long they are. Gives us a good sense of the place. I hope that was a large coffee Sarah, you had a bit of a wait. Lol
I like the walk-around videos where you highlight the local attractions and the day to day living where you are. Thanks for taking us with you on your adventures!
Hello to you both! Great work as always. We do really like the walking videos. The 20 minute mark seems to be a good time but we’d watch even if it was a bit longer. Looking forward to this years’ travels. Blessings
Great! Thanks for making these periodically. Not only do I enjoy watching them at home, they are great when at the gym on the treadmill (kinda like I'm walking around with you).
Nice morning walkabout. These walkabout videos definitely have their value in providing a more accurate preview of a place. A great example is in one of the other comments here which mentioned he/she felt the place looked run down. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder of course. However, the point is this viewer gained some knowledge from this video that he/she may not have from videos that just jump from place to place. I recognize many of those spots. IMO, early morning is the best time to traverse the streets with a camera due to the light and lack of tourists. It also tends to be a bit cooler. One of my favorite things to do in Georgetown is duck into one of those local noodle shops early in the morning for breakfast. Safe travels my friends.
I prefer the shorter videos, even if you cut a 40 minute video in half and call it part 1 and part 2. This video brought back happy memories from our three weeks in Georgetown last December. Our original plans were to stay for Christmas but life got in the way. It would have been very interesting experiencing Chinese New Year there. Happy traveling 😃
It’s always good interesting to drop in a walking tour of each place to give a feel and taste of the area. We were lucky enough to go to Penang in 2007 to tryout the food halls and visit the temples it is an amazing experience
I watched your newest video first, and I see what you mean about the sidewalks not being the greatest in Penang. I love your walkthroughs for the neighborhood context they provide.
What’s not to like. Insight on travels is always interesting for me. I am fortunate to be well travelled so far, but plenty of that has been tourist related rather than wandering to see the real insights on those locations. I think these compliment your main format very well.
Very enjoyable, Neil. For some reason we skipped Penang on our trip from Singapore to KL. Next time, we'll be sure to stop! Hope your health in under control. Keep up the great work!
Like to see the walk around videos gives a real sense of the area. OK with any length as long as it gives the full picture vs the clips of tourist sights.
Loved this video, and the length was great. I think the video length should depend on where you're at and what you can see within a reasonable walking distance.
Neil, I think the length of the video depends on what you have to show. If you keep it interesting and there are landmarks or points of interest you believe are entertaining then the time will just flow. By the way, I know you’ve only done two of these but you work well without a script as well. You have a nack for conversation and it will only get better the more you film these types of videos. Safe travels. 🤙
I enjoy your little walks Sorry if I missed it but where did you stay? Right in Georgetown itself? There are soo many options for apartments in and around Georgetown, where would you recommend? Thanks
I don't think sticking to a rigid format or schedule is necessary. I would go with your gut feel - carry on until you think you have said enough (or your feet tell you that you have walked too far) or there is nothing left to see. Don't forget to pop in the occasional food video though 🙂 Hope you are feeling better Peter
Hey guys! I know that you are slow travelers but have you considered slowing down even more and staying in one place for a couple of months or even more???
In malaysia old towns are typically being deserted as new townships are sprucing up all over malaysia.old towns normally being visited by tourists as they can experience of past days of malaysia life.malaysian only go there when they miss their favourite foods that still operating there😂
Unfortunately old buildings are abandoned and crumbling. Our gov cannot do much as owners are no more around. In singapore, they took care of old buildings in little india, China town and Arab area like kampong glam.
Watch many Malaysia + Thai u tubers...our age! Am looking to buy condo in kl or penang....maybe you can show different areas inc new development condos if u r running out of ideas ! Also having spending time in both...unsure of which is best..both v different
Prefer 15-20 minute videos. Also tell your routine when arriving into a new location. I understand you use Air BnB to start but how do you find long term accommodations and what are landlords requesting to provide as far as financials, deposit, etc. Considering spending 3 months at a time in spots around Thailand and Maylasia.
I like seeing a walk-around, but I admit I was hoping we'd see you reunited with Sarah at the end. About the scenery, well... it's not somewhere that appeals to me, as a lot of where you were walking seemed rather run-down and dirty to me - although a small part of it looked clean and nice. When you kept saying this or that was beautiful, I couldn't see it. Oh well, to each their own!
I think Penang if you know Birmingham Penang is a mixture of Alum rock Spark Brook soho Road Witton and China Town. To get decent hotels your looking at 100 pounds a night .this hotel 100 pounds plus no breakfast. Booze is ridiculously expensive. Wouldn't touch the street food definitely Wouldn't trust the hygiene.

Thumbs up for walking tour. And the chance meeting with Mr N, sounds like a memory you'll both always treasure. Thank you for sharing with us.

I really liked this walk around video. Helps to get a feel for the location. A great addition to your other types of videos. Enjoyed!

Love the walk around Neil ❤ We were in George Town just before covid hell broke out in March 2020 that was our second visit just lovely
Great walk-around. Thanks for sharing and travel safe.
Of course I saw that video!! I don't miss any of yours.

I like the snappy 20-30 minutes to learn and see places with you guys. Stay well! Thank you.
It is nice to see a bit of walking video - especially if you stay in a place for couple of weeks
I enjoy a walk-about video. Thanks, I've been wanting to visit Malaysia.
It’s always good interesting to drop in a walking tour of each place to give a feel and taste of the area. We were lucky enough to go to Penang in 2007 to tryout the food halls and visit the temples it is an amazing experience
Yes, enjoy the snappy walk around videos
Yes short snappy tour videos are excellent. They aren't rubbish when you've never been there. Thank a for all you do to bring the world to me
Neighbourhood walks are interesting and insightful! Thanks 🙂
Thanks for this wonderful video.
Love your walks. I bet Sarah enjoys the quiet too. 😁
Great vlog.we will be visiting Penang at the end of April….can’t wait
I watched your newest video first, and I see what you mean about the sidewalks not being the greatest in Penang. I love your walkthroughs for the neighborhood context they provide.
Great video Neil. Under 30 mins works for me
Enjoyed the shorter walk around - gives you a real feel for the place. Thanks.
Enjoy the walk around and 20 minutes is good. Thank you 😊
I love your walk-around town-type videos. Some places in this video were reminiscent for me which was fun.
20 mins is good Neil. Looking forward to your upcoming adventures. Have fun guys!
We love the chatty walks, 40 mins is absolutely fine. If others don't like, put some YT shorts out that are 30 seconds long.
Make the content you want, always seems to work for me, loved the untold story !
Enjoy all your videos. Do enjoy the shorter walking video compared with long. Take care.
We love a stroll around. It's almost like we're walking along with you.
Another interesting and helpful video…! I really appreciate that you add your observations and thoughts throughout. However long the video.
What’s not to like. Insight on travels is always interesting for me. I am fortunate to be well travelled so far, but plenty of that has been tourist related rather than wandering to see the real insights on those locations. I think these compliment your main format very well.
Yep - the occasional walkabout video is welcome.
Very enjoyable, Neil. For some reason we skipped Penang on our trip from Singapore to KL. Next time, we'll be sure to stop!
Hope your health in under control. Keep up the great work!
I enjoy your walking videos, they show the places you visit as they really are. Gail, Czech Republic.
Have a good weekend both!
Like to see the walk around videos gives a real sense of the area. OK with any length as long as it gives the full picture vs the clips of tourist sights.
I love these walk around videos%%%. That’s what I’d do of I went there I so it’s perfect,
i like this style for a change
Yes these videos are great even with the commentary so keep it up
Loved this video, and the length was great. I think the video length should depend on where you're at and what you can see within a reasonable walking distance.
I enjoy seeing the daily life walk arounds, shorter version is best.

Hey guys! I know that you are slow travelers but have you considered slowing down even more and staying in one place for a couple of months or even more???
More snappy walks please
Go to Pulau perhentian in Terengganu for Island
Now is the perfect time to vacation on a Pulau Perhentian in Terengganu
Is Sarah well? I hope so!

Are you still in Malaysia? Or was this a backdated video?
It is back dated. Cny was over on Feb 5th

It seems owning a car is cheap in Malaysia. There are so many cars
Just take care of your health buddy.
