    This is what I hoped to find. Yours is about the fourth one in I've watched but the most helpful and encouraging by your delivery. I've spent decades on still illustrations exclusively PS. 10 yrs in Photoshop edit competitions and noticed how much it's a dying art with so many sites gone. This is my new course of action. Stay with the times and tech breakthroughs. Thank you and keep up the excellent tutorials. 😎

    Thank you so much! I have tried to animate but I was too impatient. You've calmed me down with your background lessons - now I understand the whole process better and will try to think about the details that make so much difference.

    Haha! I had no idea there were all these options for animating/video inside Photoshop. I've been making animations by changing everything I want animated, merging visible, then exporting as a quick PNG, then undoing the merge, changing everything (from memory); Repeat...hundreds of times. Takes SO LONG, and always forget to move something. This's brilliant. Thanks so much. I'm dumb.😆

    Many years ago the animation abilities were much more primitive. I used PS to make simple GIF animations. This is a huge step above what I did back then. I started using PS with PS3, but don’t remember when the frame animation came into being. It was a long time ago, however.

    Hi, I really need some help with a video I am adding into a flyer I am creating photoshop. I have a video in my project that I want add and i was successful in adding it, however I want blend it in the with the flyer by erasing the edges with a soft round brush. If I do make the mentioned before it is converted to a smart object, it works but only for one split second part of the video. I need the edits to last the entire video(wondering if the keyframes would help with this but not sure how). I tried converting it to a smart object then making the edit I wanted but it prompts me to rasterize the video (making an image). Is it possible to edit a video like a photo in photoshop with out changing into a picture?
    If this isn't clear, I would to talk to you directly if possible.

    • @photoshopcafe
      @photoshopcafe  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      You have to use a layer mask, otherwise you are only editing 1 frame. Convert to Smart Object, then apply the mask to the smart object.

    Did not know how much animation CC could do. At the same time, trying to overlay multiple layers of artmaking and layer masks seems the best suited.. that doesn’t seem as good as photoshop. Here’s a question…. Can you animate a layer mask?

  • @Bluebarmy
    @Bluebarmy 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    Ok typical of me trying something for the first time. I have a simple three layer animation set up. Background layer photo of a shelf with a tin on it, a middle layer of the lid of the tin to go up off the tin with a bird inside on the same layer that comes up from inside the tin. The tin is a cut out from the background photo as the top third layer to hid the bird coming out with the tin lid on its head. But when I set the keyframe at the beginning for the active bird/lid layer I'm on with the Position alarm clock active and move the playhead to the end of the animation, When I move the the layer to the position I want the animation to end, it doesn't automatically set the second Keyframe yellow diamond. It moves the starting first keyframe to the same position I'm trying to end with. So when you play it back there is no progression from one position to another because the first keyframe moved the layer to start how I wanted it to end.
    I notice there are two small arrows either side of the alarm clock. My animation is intended to go in a similar direction to yours but in the opposite direction. Moving up the frame.
    Any ideas what I'm missing ? Oops I figured it out. I didnt have the workspace set up for 'motion' instead of essential. Rolls eyes.

    Hi Colin, another great tutorial! I've been wanting to use the animation in Photoshop as I use to use Pinnacle Studio. Can you tell me if there is a way of zooming into an image and or panning throw an image? I have an few landscape images I'd love to zoom into in an Instagram story as I don't think Instagram images do landscapes justice. Would you be covering more aspects of animation in future tutorial?

    Asking for a Like and/or Subscribe is like asking for a tip--there’s a presumption that the delivered content is worthy of the requested gratuity. So asking at the beginning of the presentation assumes I will like what I’m about to see. Really? How would I know if I’m going to like it if I haven’t even seen it? Besides, just asking at all is reason-enough to not-like the video or not-want to subscribe to future offerings. If you’re going to beg for approval; at least wait until I have an opportunity to view the content, then decide if it’s worth-while.
