Oh...you would really enjoy her Tiny Desk Concert...❤
She did a Tiny Desk concert?!?! Well, you sold me! Thanks ❤️
She is a very old soul, and a poet, and a songwriter/singer, musician, cinematographer. And a kick-ass human.
Yes, she is!! ❤️
To see her play guitar, react to We are Never Getting Back Together- ROCK Version live.
That sounds good! thank you! ❤️
Second this. She's a full on rockstar in this performance.
It's going to blow his mind lol.
Agreed. This one is amazing!!
OMG!!! EXCELLENT SUGGESTION!!!
Love your reaction. I’m 67 and have loved music my whole life. I fell in love with Taylor the first time I heard her. As she’s matured, she’s become one of the best singers, songwriters and performers the world has seen. I put her up there with Elvis and The Beatles!!
Thank you! She is a record-breaking MEGA star! So, yeah, she is right up there with the legends! ❤️
I'm also 67. I fell into the Taylor trap when I saw the Eras Tour on TH-cam a few months ago. She is infectious. I'm still learning and it's a great ride.
*Almost 67 (born in 1957) and I couldn’t agree with you more. She spreads love, joy & unity everywhere she performs. She also helps the economy in those areas and donates to food banks etc. I have so much admiration & respect for her. She’s an inspiration and a role model that I encourage my grandchildren to enjoy.
I’m 69 an absolutely love her ❤❤❤
As an old metal dude, it's the first time I'm hearing this. I kinda like it a lot. Her voice is excellent. You hear that low note on "man" in the chorus? That's low for a female. Her voice is rich and nuanced and expressive.
My daughter just turned 28 and she's quite the feminist. I am too, even before she was born. It's not that threatening. All it means is you think women should be treated with equal respect as men. Equal pay for equal work. Equal rights to do what they want with their own body. As half the human race, you wouldn't think it would be all that hard to grant them equality. You wouldn't think.
My daughter doesn't listen to a lot of Tay Tay. She's more into Rush and Dio and Black Sabbath. But she appreciates a good song and a good lyric, especially an empowering feminist one. I guess you could say Taylor is being a "bitch" here (she even says it) with her talk of conquests etc. But I think she's absolutely right on. If she was a man nobody would be giving her all the shit they're giving her. I mean people are seriously triggered about this little girl. They call her everything up to and very specifically including "spawn of Satan." There are deep conspiracy theories about her plotting to take over the world and stuff. That's how threatened some people are by her. It's kinda like the Beatles, or Ozzy. Remember the Congressional hearings on music censorship during the days of Tipper Gore and the PMRC? Remember how Ozzy was sued because they said his song Suicide Solution made that kid kill himself? How they persecuted Dee Snider and Rob Halford and Frank Zappa, and how they testified in front of those blowhard Congress critters? We seem to want to build our pop stars up, then rip them down and watch them fall. Blame them for distilling and expressing the essence of what millions are feeling. For speaking their own truth.
Not me. I don't buy into that BS. I think Taylor has artistic integrity, and I like her message here. I want the same things for my daughter: equality, respect, freedom. Women are not second class citizens. Not anybody's property. They should be seen AND heard. Sometimes they can do more than "shut up and sing" (which is a contradiction anyway).
This old white dude is not threatened. Not triggered. I kinda think she stands up for the best in all of us, at least from what I've heard so far, which I'll admit isn't much. And if she trolls a few snowflakes, hey, so much the better! Isn't good music supposed to ruffle a few feathers? If liking that makes me bad, then call me a Swifty!
❤❤
That was a profound reply. Thanks for takin the time to write it.
Dude, as an old metalhead myself I can honestly say I really dig Taylor. I've always been very egalitarian unlike my father that saw my mom as his property like his cars and Harleys which always disgusted me. Maybe I was a Viking in my past life! They were very egalitarian especially looking at that time period.
Spawn of Satan! What a laugh! She's fiercely Christian so, that theory is out. She speaks her mind and that makes her a 'bitch'. So be it! I root her on!
Your daughter has great taste in music, my brother. Bravo! My boys, although both musicians never got into my music or my wife's. In fact, my oldest has said and I quote, " all that 80s music sounds the same to me" Of course I retorted with a very strong, "HOW DARE YOU!!!!!" Yes, my friend, with a whole lot of exclamation points although I said it out loud but you get the idea.
I should point out who stood alongside Zappa and Snider, John Denver. Although his music was not the focus of their attacks he still understood censorship when he saw it.
My brother, my friend, keep rockin! 🤘❤️🤘
@@BemusingBill Ah yeah I forgot about John Denver! He scored a lot of points with me for his stand on that. Much respect!
@@BemusingBill Her Christianity is being downplayed/dismissed by folks threatened by her because she’s speaking out for things like supporting the Equality Act, and of course, staunchly supporting queer folks, feminism, etc. She funds Democratic candidates in Tennessee openly, she speaks against eliminating contraceptive options, she uses imagery of astrology and witchcraft (two subjects long associated with female strength) in her songs and music videos… plus, of course, the old living in sin chestnut. Basically, a lot of ammo for a certain threatened group to say she isn’t Christian, but she is a lot of evil things and trying to tempt your daughters and sons… blah blah blah. (As for whether she is still Christian or what flavor, who knows - I’m not sure she’s made any comments in recent years about that. It was 100% part of the image her old label and, to a lesser degree, her father, insisted she have, so she just might not be interested in having it a public topic anymore.)
“And it’s ok if I’m mad” pause had me choked up the first time I heard it. It’s rarely ok for women to be mad, I’ve struggled with this my whole life. And she just left us with that sentence and that pause and it really hit me. I feel seen by Taykor many times, this one caught me off guard due to the simplicity and directness.
Leonardo DiCaprio hosts an annual boys trip in San Tropez where he and his friend party on yachts with models etc
I thought it was something like that.
Just imagine if an actress did this
When she was 12 she saw a 12-string guitar and thought it was cool. They told her she was too young and her hands to small. Yeah that only set her on fire to do it. She practiced for hours a day for a couple of years then picked up a six string and thought hey this is easy!
I have never listened to Taylor Swift. I like this, like the message. Honestly, this is probably not something I would listen to on a regular basis, but a reaction now and then will be interesting. And, I will add that she is, as a person, reaching Dolly Parton level in my eyes.
She's a good person and writes her own songs. I like her voice and the fact that she plays guitar is a bonus.
Love this! She has such a huge catalogue of music that she has something for just about everyone. ❤
Taylor have several songs about this topic. Mad woman is one of my favorites. If you like Dolly, I think you would like that song. Also listen to the great American dynasty
The Man, music video written and directed by Taylor Swift th-cam.com/video/AqAJLh9wuZ0/w-d-xo.htmlsi=mMmI1WNpBBbmrKKW
Dolly is an excellent example, and someone a young Taylor called an early role model. It absolutely shows in her generosity, which you never hear about unless someone else reports on it - much like Dolly. Most folks heard about her generosity to her tour staff at the end of the US Eras tour, but what was slightly less reported on was that she made huge donations to food pantries at every city she stopped in. And if you look, you find examples of her doing things like that constantly - but again, despite the people who insist she does these things for clout, they’re not donations SHE talks about. Just the people who insist it’s for clout, which is… weird. We all know there are hundreds, thousands of gestures and donations and moments of kindness she’s done over her two decade career we’ve never heard of, because no one talked.
@@BemusingBillshe also plays piano and banjo too!
I fell in love with Taylor about 16 months ago when she released 'Midnights,' which just won Grammys for album of the year and best pop vocal album. Got completely sucked down the rabbit hole and I'm telling you, whether her music fits the genres you like or not, this woman can write some songs. I've listened to all ten of her studio albums, and most of them are 100% no-skip. I've watched every live performance I can find, and that's where she really shines.
Taylor has released something like 240 songs across 10 albums, with an 11th due in about six weeks, and has writing (or co-writing) credit on EVERY. SINGLE. ONE. She is a songwriting tour de force. She's won album of the year more than any other artist, ever. She has earned 14 Grammy Awards plus a slew of others.
Looks like my Swiftie pals have already provided a LOT of suggestions for you, so I'll just leave my comment at that, subscribe, and wait for the next one!
My second Taylor Swift song…both heard on your channel, Bill. Just like the last one, I am really impressed with her lyrics…really heavy and profound. ☮️❤️
She is a perfect fit for this channel with positivity, musicality and lyricism. Never imagined I would become a Swifty! ❤️
This is nothing compared to the rest of the lyrics in her music catalog. Folklore and evermore lyricism are her best lyrically
Taylor is never better than when she is solo with just an instrument, her voice and her personality. She always holds the crowd in the palm of her hand, no matter how large the venue. I suggest 2 of her best live performances where she plays electric guitar. The first is “Wildest Dreams” live from the Grammy Museum , which is a very intimate show. The second is “We are Never Ever Getting Back Together” Rock Version Live from the 1989 Tour. The EAS channel is the best version. That is a stadium performance with a whole band. These are two of her biggest hits that nearly everyone on the planet has heard but performed differently. Loving your videos!
it's definitely worth checking out the music video to this song as it really paints a visual picture. loved your reaction! :]
Thank you! I will do just that. ❤️
Yes! Its brilliant! And she did the directing and cinematography for it. She's brilliant.
You need to watch the music video! Taylor wrote it and directed it herself
Ok, cool!
Taylor plays acoustic, 12 string and electric guitar, piano, banjo, and ukulele. the performance of her doing a rock version of her pop song "We Are Never Getting Back Together" with her electric guitar is awesome.th-cam.com/video/6bVsg1Ik-GQ/w-d-xo.html
That sounds killer! Thank you, my friend! ❤️
Oh yeah...🔥
I enjoyed this. Thanks for giving Swift a chance.
Sounds like she’s not an artist you’d want to listen to on a regular basis, but she’s so versatile, it might be worth your time to check out different songs/performances of her now and then.
She’s great live. A couple performances I would recommend are Intro/Ready For It? and, in particular, Don’t Blame Me from the Reputation Stadium Tour.
I like her voice, guitar skills and her message in her songs. I'd like to check out more. Thank you! ❤️
Taylor isn’t a rock guitarist, but I would love it if she would learn a few riffs just so we could get some good visuals of her shredding, just for fun. She has, in fact, dabbled with some rock versions of some of her songs and plays electric guitar sometimes. Here is an example you will probably enjoy:
Taylor Swift - We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together (1989 World Tour)

BTW, Taylor’s long-time lead guitarist is Paul Sidoti. This song has a bit of nice guitar work:

Also: The entire 1989 World Tour movie is available on TH-cam for free and has an incredibly long list of guest performances (she sings a duet with Mick Jagger, for example).

Excellent selection. I would add the Grammy Museum session videos : Out of the woods, blank space and wildest dreams
I came here to recommend the We Are Never Getting Back Together rock version, and I love this post. It would be very nice to have the opinion of a metal fan on Taylor playing the electric guitar. Also Don’t Blame and Look What You Made Me Do live on The Eras Tour have a really heavy electricity guitar presence, they are worth watching. Most of the times, I prefer her live performances than the studio versions because, to me, her band and her live vocals make the songs sound better.
What just popped into my brain is a CMT Crossroads episode with Taylor Swift and Def Leppard. It's from her country music days. I don't remember if she shredded with them, but they all had a good time. You might want to check it out!
There is a cute backstory about it, part of which is that Def Leppard was Taylor's mom's favorite music act, so Taylor grew up hearing Def Leppard all the time. So, for CMT Crossroads, Taylor Swift said they were the one group she really wanted to do the episode with.
One thing I find amazing about Taylor, besides the obvious things, is that she has wide knowledge of music acts' catalogs of songs. Jimmy Fallon is very competitive and usually wins his "Name That Song" game segment, but she had him sweating bullets. 😂
How can you not fall in love with her? She’s amazing!❤❤❤
The video of this song is GREAT!
I MUST check it out! Thank you! ❤️
😉
Her music video to this is brilliant.
So nice watching people discovering Taylor and appreciate her art. What a nice reaction video.
Another amazing Artist I would like to recommend is Harry Styles. He is considered „Pop“ but has a very unique retro vibe to his songs, that reach from Rock to Pop to Ballads. You will definitely find something you will like. Hope to see a video on him some day.
Greetings.
Thank you, my friend! I used to work for a book store and Harry Styles was on the cover of everything! I mean EVERTHING! I don't know any of his music but I have to say, with the exception of his hairline he reminds me of a young Jack Nicholson! 😁😁
@@BemusingBill Oh he was hyped for sure. But music wise I would say he deserves that. If you want to check him out, I highly recommend his solo debut single Sign of The Times, a great piece in my opinion. His live version on The Graham Norton Show is amazing. But you wouldn’t go wrong with whatever you choose.
Keep up with your channel, you have some amazing videos 😊
I highly recommend watching the video, which she is the director of, producer, and acts in it as well. It will give you Wolf on Wall Street vibes. It's extremely impressive and really hits the messages right out of the park! I really have enjoyed your 2 reactions thus far. Welcome to Swift Kingdom!
Taylor has charisma. She owns a stadium.
What you most need to know about Taylor is that she writes her own songs. She may have someone sit in on a writing session if she needs help. Yes, you have it right. How much easier for men to sing and have a band. Men are more critical of women doing the same thing. That’s been going on for years. Her last concerts in Australia were 96,000 each night for 3 nights in Melburne. In Sidney there 86,000 each night for 4 nights. All those people sing right along with her. At a concert she sings for 3 1/2 hours with no breaks. Changes clothes in seconds throughout the night. Almost a different outfit for each song.
A man could never tbh. Like I can not picture a single male singer of any level doing everything she does. I have certainly never seen it happen.
You should check out the music video, it's awesome. She directs it and stars as "The Man" in the video. I know you will appreciate it. Also, for a new Taylor reaction, you could do the intro + Ready For It, from the Reputation Tour. That tour was so amazing. I wish I had been able to go to one of her concerts.
*I have another artist that I would love for you to check out.*
They speak a different language, but they do include some English in their lyrics, and the English subtitles are there, and they are accurate. I would recommend watching it through once for the performance, then running it back and catching the lyrics. They are amazing performance artists, and they write, compose, and produce, most of their own music, and they talk about subjects that might be seen as taboo in South Korea.
Also, they don't hold to any genre boundaries, and they are known for crossing and fusing many genres. They are amazing humans, and they are a Global Supergroup. If you ask me what genre they are, I would say to you "BTS ARE THE GENRE". Please check them out.
BTS Dionysus - Live stage w/Eng. Subtitles - th-cam.com/video/-yu8GRYoxfA/w-d-xo.html
BTS debuted in 2013 as a Hip Hop Idol Group, with 3 rappers, and 4 vocalists, but all seven can rap, dance, and sing. Their fanbase is called BTS ARMY, and ARMY are arguably the largest fandom Globally. I look forward to more of your reactions.
Hi. I’m a newborn Swiftie myself and I can tell you, she’s such a great songwriter and her music videos are amazing! I agree with the recommendations you already got.
You should definitely react to the 10 min version of All too well. I think the lyric video would be best for the first time. That’s storytelling!
Intro + Ready for it
Exile with Bon Iver and
You’re losing me
There are sooo many more songs with great and deep lyrics. So maybe you wanna keep going. 😉
Thank you! I really appreciate the recommendations! ❤️
I have watched, idk how many reaction channels…. But never have I ever seen this performance before!
Thank you! ❤️
Please do her Wildest Dreams performance at grammy's the museum, she plays electric guitar there! Plus, it's a great song. You will enjoy it for sure. Link: /watch?v=OGDkg3QiJmk&ab_channel=TaylorSwift
Cool! Thank you! I really appreciate the link! ❤️
First and most importantly: if you want to know who Taylor is as an artist, you have to stray away from her hits & singles. This song has a great message but imo it isn't really representative of her true talents. There are 2 other performances from this concert that are far better: Cornelia Street and Death by a Thousand Cuts (Live in Paris).
Also, for you I would recommend starting elsewhere:
- Intro/Ready For It and Don't Blame Me from the Reputation Tour (these are amazing performances that every new listener should watch!)
- We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together (1989 Tour - rock version)
I love the attention you paid to her lyrics, because (even on the simpler songs) her words are poetry. If you continue down the Taylor Swift rabbit hole, you will discover that quickly. However, as I said before, I'd start with a few explosive live performances just to see how great she is live and why her concerts sell out in minutes. 💜
Thank you! I really appreciate the guidance. Thanks to all you Swifties for supporting my little channel. I really do appreciate her as an artist and a poet. I now have so many great recommendations I can't wait to get started! ❤️
Highly recommend the music video ! Calls out allll the double standards
As a metal fan, you NEED to watch the intro to the reputation tour!!! 🔥
Cool! Thank you! ❤️
Hey Bill! I come like you from a rock/metal background. I discovered Taylor through my now 20 years old daughter who is a huge Swifty since she was 10. She normally has a good taste in music and went with me to festivals and even to see TOOL. So one day I thought, if she likes her so much it can't be that bad and sat down and listened to a couple of songs. Since I heard "All too well" the 10 min version, I was sold. She is a poet and possibly one of the greatest the world has seen. At least in the last 30 years.
When David Draiman gave appreciation to her talent, I started listening.
She plays both 6 and 12 string guitar. She writes all her own lyrics and win a National Poetry contest at age 10.
If you really wanna be blown away like I was, check out her live intro + Ready for it. This is from her Reputation Tour. The intro clips are real.
th-cam.com/video/2QJaf6qq8jQ/w-d-xo.htmlsi=Okse2auVlvUaJ1M3
Thank you and thank you for the link! I knew Springsteen gave her a lot of praise on a recent interview but I wasn't sure if he was just being kind. After checking her out I know he was telling the truth! David is a good man and I respect him so to me, an even greater endorsement. Thank you for watching! ❤️
She has a hand written note by Paul McCartney himself framed in her bathroom 😂 It features the lyric “take those broken wings and fly”
@@eirinikomotini Sir Paul has been a fan for years - his song Who Cares is inspired by her connection with her fans. (He also showed up in her box at the Super Bowl. It was pretty funny to hear Jason Kelce recount being told to turn around to F’ING PAUL MCCARTNEY. 😂 ) Dave Grohl tells a very sweet story about being at Sir Paul’s house with his wife and a few other people, including Taylor, and being put on the spot by Paul to play something. He was high AF, and the only instruments in the room were left-handed guitars and the piano, neither of which Dave play. Taylor got up and offered to play piano “like Batman when you need him,” and Grohl apparently tried to figure out how to work a left-handed bass to accompany her… and it took him a few bars to realize he knew the song Taylor was playing. Zero prep time, she was playing Best of You, on piano, from memory. “As if I weren’t high enough - that blew me into outer space! I lost my mind!”
@@BemusingBill Billy Joel has compared her to The Beatles. Ringo Starr has said she’s the biggest star in the world and has challenged people to the title #1 Swiftie. Carole King thinks she’s brilliant, Dolly Parton says Swift is the top female songwriter AND business owner (something Dolly is big on women doing) in show business, Shania Twain calls her ridiculously talented and unstoppable, Springsteen most recently, after Midnights, said she’s a tremendous writer and super talented… the list just goes on, and it crosses every genre of music. Hell, even Kobe Bryant said he tried to learn from her as much as he could, because her performance under pressure is unbelievable.
Champagne Problems from the Eras Tour or All Too Well from the Grammys shows off her piano skills.
Mean from the Grammys shows her with the banjo.
We Are Never Getting Back Together live from the 1989 tour or Wildest Dreams from the Grammy Museum shows her on the electric guitar.
Death By A Thousand Cuts from her tiny desk is another great showing of her with the acoustic guitar.
Also she now directs all of her music videos and the video for The Man is really good! But the shinning star is the short film she directed for the song All Too Well…the song is a masterpiece and the video is amazing
Banjo?!?!?! I'm sold! ❤️❤️❤️
You should check out the Long Pond Studio sessions she did during covid lock down. You can find them on TH-cam. Songs such as Exile featuring Bon Iver and My Tears Riccochet are just amazing.
I'm a reverse Swiftie convert and got into her music via the NFL. I wasn't too keen on 1989 coz my daughters played the dog shit out of it, like most young girls. I really appreciate her arc as an artist, love her newer stuff. Not afraid to add her to my punk and metal. 🤟😊
We are in the same boat, my friend! I know what you mean: as a kid I hated Blondie because my sister would play her 45 of Heart Of Glass over and over. But now I love Blondie! Same with Taylor! New Swifty here!! ❤️
Fun fact: at her concerts her dad hands out her guitar picks to the fans.
I didn't know that! Very cool! ❤️
Everyone is suggesting We are never getting back together live from the 1989 tour and I AGREE!
But I do suggest that you listen to the original studio version first… I would say that if you’ve never heard it you may live under a rock, this song was EVERYWHERE! But considering your usual style of music, maybe you haven’t paid attention… but the difference between the two versions is so stark that if you only listen to the rock version you might not be able to tell which song it is, if you e only heard it to the supermarket or sth 😂 you could even do them back to back in one video - don’t worry about it being too long, we will watch!
And you have to admit, there’s charm to the music video - AND it’s done in a single take, no cuts!
There are so many I would love for you to react to, particularly from her Folklore album. But I also would like to see your reaction to "State of Grace" off of her Red album. This is an earlier song of hers that has such a nice blend of country pop and rock.
She does a rock version of one of her songs I'm 99% confident you'd like. "I Knew You Were Trouble" from the 1989 World Tour in Sydney. First time I ever saw her play an electric guitar, and it was so much fun.
Love your Taylor reactions! I would LOVE if you reacted to her intro/“Ready for it” song from her “Reputation” Stadium Tour! It’s so cool to see what you think about certain songs! Taylor plays these instruments (some more than others)
6 and 12 string guitar, electric guitar, bass, banjo, piano, violin, and drums!
All of her concerts, there is a full band and backup singers. Enjoy the discovery!
And I think importantly to note, largely the same people for going on 20 years. Which doesn’t happen if someone is a pill to work with!
I am so ready for you to react to her doing the rock version of we are never getting back together one of my favorites of her and the guitar
Hi. Two things:
First, the music video to this is amazing. Even funnier than Anti Hero.
Second: Her live performances are amazing. Unfortunately this one is ruined by the crowd (in my opinion). But if you watch for example the Reputation Tour, you will see. Perfect starting point would be "Intro + Ready For It". Or you check out Blank Space live at the Grammy Museum. There she gives a fun explanation at the beginning too. (Maybe you want to combine it with the music video, which is also hilarious) 😉
Thank you! I think I like the idea about combining to get the whole picture and scope of her talent. I appreciate the recommendations and have added them to my list!
@@BemusingBill Looking forward to it. You're welcome. 😊😊
Taylor's voice coming out of the man still confuses my brain lol
@@chloewu2760 Understandably so... 😂
I’m an older and newer fan of hers; enjoying your reactions! For some songs, her live performances are the best ones to watch, but all of her music videos are pretty amazing. The one for The Man is worth checking out.
There are other female rockers who play guitar, but I see comments about how some of them aren’t doing much. What do you think of her guitar playing?
Please check out "Are you ready for it," including the introduction, from the Reputation Stadium Tour.
Thank you. 😊
I saw that u loved anti hero would u consider all too well the short film ? She wrote and directed it and I do think I will find much to appreciate in it. Also there's a live where she's playing an electric guitar that's right up ur alley (I think) it's the 1989 tour I knew you were trouble (I believe in Sydney Australia . Other swifties can help me. #SWIFTIE
Watch her live stuff. You'll be blown away.
Once you've explored more of her work, I would recommend the music video for this song. It's awesome!
Thank you!
Me again 😀 I’ll probably get through all of your Taylor reactions tonight. Not sure if you’re aware, but Taylor’s 11th studio album releases April 19th- 1 week from today 🤗🤗 Swifties are STARVING for Taylor content right now, because she’s not done much promo for this album. No shade to her- just not what we are used to. I think there are a few reasons- none of which are bad. All that to say- I AM SO HAPPY I FOUND YOU!!!! I have watched most Taylor reactions on TH-cam, but tonight the algorithm brought me to you!!! My recommendations moving forward are- Folklore “long pond studio sessions’. Currently on Disney+ (not sure how that works when doing reactions, but a lot of creators blur the Taylor video for copyright purposes). This is a full studio recording of the album, shot documentary style. There are in between explanations of each song from Taylor and her co-writers/producers. It’s such a great representation of Taylor as a musician, and as a person. If you can’t do that one, anything from the Folklore album is GREAT, and I think you will love. It’s more of a folk type album, written and released in 2020, during the height of the pandemic. There are also the Live Lounge Sessions (on TH-cam), and a multitude of music videos from throughout her discography that are all great songs and great video productions. Taylor artistically directs most of them herself 🫶
You definitely need to react to the music video for The Man. It’s a masterpiece.
I really should! I think after I do All Too Well and Don't Blame Me I'll go and do the OMV. she really does make great videos!
Btw the video to this song is great as well ❤!
[Remastered 4K] Drops of Jupiter - Taylor Swift • Speak Now World Tour Live 2011 • EAS Channel th-cam.com/video/F-I7Mdtv0Kk/w-d-xo.html
back when she was 20 or so, she was in some writing sessions with Monahan of Train; the songs weren't on her Red Album in 2012 (they are on the 2021 Red), but she did sing a solo acoustic of Drops of Jupiter during her Speak Now tour. You'll love the guitar. She used two guitars for this acoustic set: this clip shows both guitars. The blue one is called Living Jewels, and has koi fish on it; the other is a custom Koa. The blue one was a birthday present from Bob Taylor in 2007; the Koa custom is also a Taylor. She switched to mostly Gibson guitars when she went pop in 2014. She'll donate guitars to charity auctions, but not these two!
fwiw, she's played 6 & 12 string and electric guitars since she started out, and videos always show pianos in her homes growing up ; she added banjo (6 string) and ukulele. Someone gifted her a dulcimer once, but it hasn't been on stage. There are various clips of her writing songs on guitar and piano if you're into that.
Thank you for all of that info! Brilliant! As a guitar nerd I love to know about the instruments and as a musician I love to learn about the songwriting process and all the behind the scenes stuff. Thanks again, my friend!
Loved this reaction!! She knows how to work a crowd. So good live!!! You should check out We Are Never Getting Back Together Again live from the 1989 tour. And YES to the Elvis show. Wasn’t that his comeback tv special?
Champagne Problems is one of her excellent piano pieces if you are interested in reacting to one of those
I did not have that on my list, so thank you! ❤️❤️
Also, you should react to her song “We are never ever getting back together” live from her 1989 tour!
(She plays electric guitar)
I've been wanting to check that one out. Thank you!
Sorry one last comment u would probably dig some of Olivia Rodrigos stuff it's kinda punkish. And Billie eilish has some great stuff the one I think u will like is a "horror themed" video called bury a friend. I subbed!
Thank you, my friend! I really appreciate that!
I think you would like “All Too Well” the 10 minute version. It’s about her relationship with Jake Gyllenhaal. He was much older than her. You should do the lyric video then her SNL performance. It’s so, so good. There is a 6-minute version that was originally released on Red, but she let it slip on TV that there is a 10-minute version. Fans begged for the longer version so she added it to Red when she re-recorded and released it (the Taylor’s Version).
Thank you, my friend! I will do the 10 min All Too Well version and I can do the lyric video, too. But it's hard reacting to something from a tv show because it's likely it will get completely blocked which means both videos would get blocked. I did a reaction to BTS performing on The Tonight show and two days later the show had my video pulled. But so far, everything I've covered from Taylor has been allowed just without monetization. That's okay though, it's worth it for my fellow Swifties! ❤️❤️
I’ve seen other reactors do the SNL video and not get blocked. But I’m not sure what magic they did 😉
I think it’s less about opportunity and more about the way their behavior is framed, for sure.
Agreed!
Metal here watch the actual video
I know it's a MUST WATCH!! ❤️
Please react to her song HAUNTED
Happy you continued down the TS path and got to see here play the guitar, but oh my gosh this music video is hilarious and you should watch since you liked the anti-hero mv
Nice! I really can't wait to check that one out. Thank you! ❤️
you have watch the official video.
Need to watch the video LOL
You should this video. She also directs videos, sometimes her buddy Blake Lively directs her.
Love from Italy ❤
Ti amo! ❤️❤️
@@BemusingBill Anch’io! Me too❤️❤️❤️
I can’t wait for you to react to folklore and evermore albums. You should react to the long pond studio session videos but watch the short interview explanations she has with them! Love how respectful you are and excited to try something outside your wheelhouse and appreciate talent no matter who it is. I subscribed ❤️
In particular, I think you would enjoy peace, hoax, the lakes, my tears ricochet, but honestly any of them hahaha
Thank you! I appreciate the sub with all my heart! Much more from Taylor coming up!
Can you do a react to never getting back together from the 1989 tour? And Cornelius street in Paris!
I've just come across the Cornelius Street one live in Paris and almost did that one instead of The Man. Ok, for the next one!
Hello again. 😊 You replied to a comment I made saying you like her voice, guitar work and message. With that in mind, here are some performances you might want to check out- each hits on at least one of those elements:

Just a tip on this one- about 3/4 through the song there’s a long pause and it might seem like the song’s over- hang on for a minute, she’s not quite done. 😉
Hi again, Jennifer! I really appreciate the links and the little tip about hanging on during the pause lol. Thank you for being on this journey with me! ❤️
Please do yourself the privelege of watching the music video she directed for this.
I've been hearing so much about it, it's a MUST! ❤️
Leo in St. Tropez is DiCapprio. He has a habit of dumping every girlfriend as soon when they turn 25 yo. Taylor's dating life has been media fodder since she was 17 or so; she said in a 2019 interview that she seems to be a national lightning rod for "slut shaming;" and she's talked about people complaining her songs are about relationships (like other songs _aren't_ ). They've complained about her voice; her songwriting; people buying whatever she happens to wear, and now she is "ruining football." A number of her songs address her critics over the years: Mean won a Grammy; Shake It Off is still everywhere after a decade; the entire Reputation album has her satirizing the media, or surviving in spite of it. If the lyric is "they said" or something like that --- it isn't about fans. 💘
This performance in Paris was in an historical theater that seats 3000; she never got to do any of the stage shows for her Lover Album (cancelled two years running). She plans out the shows and all of her stages have been custom made for her; she wants a spectacle show that tells the story of the song while she is performing it. She said (in the intro to the Super Saturday concert from 2017) that steam, pyro, and elevators make her a happy girl. 🙂
I admit, that I only knew of Taylor from headlines and peoples nastiness which told me right away that she must be special to bring out such negativity. So I knew I would probably like her 😁. You see, as a metalhead I'm very used to people slamming my music and all my favorite bands/artists. The radio wouldn't play it, the mags would belittle it because they never understood it. This is why I wanted to give her a chance and I'm happy I did! They say you know you made it big when the haters come out! Silly people know not what they are missing because of their blindness. Shame shame. Thank you for being part of my journey! ❤️
Yes, she couldn't tour Lover because of Covid 19. This Paris tour was literally very shortly before the global lock down... What did she do instead? Dropped two brand new folk albums in 2020! Folklore and Evermore. Folklore won best album at the Grammys and Evermore could easily have won another one, but it was released too far away from the nomination time.
Then she released a huge album last year and her new one is coming out now in April!
All while she's on probably the biggest international tour of all time AND rerecording her old discoreography to get her ownership of those old songs back from her old record label who sold the copyrights of her music away from her.
Anyone who says she isn't one of the hardest working artists in the industry can go throw rocks!
@@emmavink Right? She wrote AND recorded an ENTIRE ALBUM while also performing a sold out show for 3.5hrs+ for an entire packed US tour… and recorded at least one Taylor’s Version album (tho I maintain Reputation is done and gonna get dropped when we least suspect it), and re-recorded several songs off Midnights… I’m tired just watching her!
You really should watch the music video for this song.
You're right, my friend. I do plan on it but first, My Tears Ricochet Long Pond Sessions.
This is an acoustic version. The original sound a bit different
Great video!
Ed Sheeran has some good live music videos as well! He is his own band, he usually has a keyboard, acoustic and loop machine to create his entire song while on stage.
You should check him out!
I heard about what ed does live. Yeah, I'm not at all familiar with him other than seeing him on Game of Thrones. thank you!
What a perceptive comparison to Elvis. So true.😎👍
Right up there: Elvis, Dylan, The Beatles. ❤️
I got a bit of Elvis and a bit of Johnny Cash!
Oh absolutely!!
Taylor is a lyric writing machine. Genius stuff sometimes. I like THE WARNING BETTER.. Great writers who flat out rock. 🤘🎶☮️
😁🤘🤘
Long pond studio session with Bon Ivor Exile
That one is pure gold!
Cool! thank you ❤️
That stuff is absolutely amazing. ❤
Leo famously dates basically only models and no one over the age of 26, despite the fact that he is 49.
I think I've grown used to stuff like that. Mick Jagger is 80 and his current girlfriend and mother of another one of his kids is 36!
The music video th-cam.com/video/AqAJLh9wuZ0/w-d-xo.htmlsi=mMmI1WNpBBbmrKKW
Thank you!
Shakira plays guitar and harmonica, a little bit of drums. I feel like the sound just isn’t in style for radio especially an acoustic guitar.
Gaga plays 5 instruments
Gaga is cool as hell!
Watch he video
I will! Sounds like a blast! ❤️
