As a Thai, I can confirm that most of the dishes in this video is really local. They are food we(country side province)eat often but are not popular among tourists and bankokian and kinda hard to find in BKK also.

Oh boy.... take me back to Thailand!!! I had the best dishes from restaurants/food stalls that were not as touristy. I went to a restaurant at Terminal 21 which is popular with tourists, and yes their dishes were decent but more expensive and not as good as mom n pop shops. I stayed in a small hotel few minutes walking distance from Sam Yan Station and around there, we went to small restaurants that we could communicate only with body language (which worked out fine). And they had awesome dishes which were cheaper and they were so sweet to us. I didn't get to explore the food scene as much as you guys did, I think I wanna take a food tour like you guys next time because those food you tried look so good!
Weve heard a lot about that Terminal 21, but it just couldnt compare to the food you get on a local tour like this!

there is a special type of candle which is used to smoke various types of Thai desert
and that sweet is also smoked with the candle thats why it taste like candle. lol

The fish at 11:33 is a fried mackerel (called pla too). You eat with jasmine rice with the shrimp paste sauce (nam prik kahpi) and side of veggies, a lot of the time with boiled bamboo and fresh cucumber. It may be pungent and the flavor may come off strong for first-timers since it’s fermented, but easily one of my favorites.
It was actually really delicious, super fresh and almost a bit thick - nice with the shrimp paste!

That is very cheap and delicious!
Put some sugar and a little bit of chilli if you want and squeeze a lime on your pad thai.
And mix them all together and eat it.

Can always count on you guys to get off the beaten track and hunt out the local real deal! This was so interesting with an amazing array of foods. The Thai coffee with the condensed milk really grabbed my attention :) I love it when you get to go to authentic fooderies - I'm so lucky as I get to be the only European at so many restaurants that my wife introduces me to. The "drive through" made me smile. We visited something similar in Kolkata - Balwant Singh's Eating House. You pull up outside, order your chai masala and it comes out to you in disposable clay pots. Fantastic!
Disposable clay pots in a drive through? Thats gold. Love finding these local eateries as well, something makes us feel a little pleased with ourselves being the only foreigners in these real local joints as well

Nope,,I think it is more than 1,000 different kind of dishes if you count local dish which is divided by region and each region has their own specific dish in their area and village too,,I’ve never tried all of them yet although I was born as a Thai for 32 years now,,hahaha

Hi I'm Thai But I have never been there In minutes 2.14,4.18,9.16-9.20 Is hard to eat Not sold in That most tourists go If you want to eat delicious Thai food, you have to find yourself, like the clips that the chef took. Have fun in Thailand (sorry I'm not good in English I translate the language)
