THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!! I watched a different YT video and it was no help. The screens on the app had apparently changed and changed the procedure to connect. I had bought a cable, but it wouldn't work. I was frustrated and then found your video which helped me get my camera and phone connected with no issues. Easy Peasy! I was able to transfer all my photos from a recent trip we took. I am so thankful for your easy to follow video. I'm usually tech savvy for a 63 yo, but sometimes help is greatly appreciated, and this was definitely one of those times.
I think you’re the only one I’ve watched who explained this clearly! Thank you. I’ve been watching other videos and either it out because they’re not getting to the point fast enough. Simple is all we need and you’re the only one who did it
Thank you so much for this video! After much frustration and no success trying to use the instruction booklet that came with the camera, I was finally able to connect my phone!
i dont know why they made it so damn diffifuclt the app is horrible and everytime im on the same wifi as the camera it does nothing. stuck with cool photos i cant do shit with
@pamelacarter7438 Hi, sometimes it works best if you start everything from scratch...I'm not sure why there are so many connection problems but I find if you start from the beginning...it usually works. Thanks
@@JoshsPhotoJourney I did start it over, I put in a new password and still having problems. You would think canon could do better. Almost every time I download photos I have a problem. 😫
Hi, you shouldn't have to do this every time... but if you haven't used the camera in a while or your battery has been removed for several hours, it might need to be done again. Thank you
Hi, I'm not 100% sure. You may need to forget your home network (wifi) I think the phone is dropping connection because it might be trying to connect automatically to your home wifi. I honestly hope this works for you...let me know if possible 😊
@@JoshsPhotoJourney I've got the same problem. The camera will show as connected then a few seconds later, tiny little yellow letters show up under the main word on the menu stating there is no network. This is new. This "disconnect" is new. I've been working for months with the camera connected correctly and successfully to my IPad. Called Canon support. Nada.
@@CrystalCountess Hi, it has been working fine for me, but I'm using a android phone. Seems to be an issue with the iPhones I think. I hope Canon fixes it for the iPhone users, if that is infact where the problem lies. Thank you for watching, stay safe ✌
@@JoshsPhotoJourneyI'm using an IPad. And a new one at that. I contacted Canon and spent 90 minutes with a kid who couldn't fix it. He said he put me in queue for a supervisor. Two days later I called back and I waited a half hour for the tech who disconnected my call after 5 minutes. I just put the phone all the way back to factory settings, reloaded the wifi information, and it works fine again. For now.
Hi, after you enable the wifi you need to go to wifi function and select phone...once you select phone it will ask you to "choose set" if there is a set 1 do not use it... it is easier to connect if you select the "not configured " Once you have done that there is a option for easy connection and that is where you will find a new encryption key. I hope this helps 🙏 Thank you 😁
You you have to keep doing this every time? You would think if you did it the first time to set up your camera that should be it. But thank you for your help I’ll try it.
@EllaM466 for my camera, it was because I had the battery out for weeks and when I started using it again, that's when I noticed I was having issues connecting. You shouldn't have to do it every time though. Thanks 😊
@Josh's_Photo_Journey After many google searches, I found the setting was greyed out due to the camera being connected to laptop. It wasn't grayed out after I unplugged it. Facepalm moment for sure. Hope this helps others in the future.
Hi , the camera doesn't provide actual internet... it just connects to your phone via wifi. Once you are connected to the phone/camera it still might say no internet connection but that is OK as long as your phone is connected to the cameras wifi network. Hope this helps 🙏
