Great video! Pink floyd and matchbox all in beautiful condition . However when I look at some of these wonderful little cars and trucks it sometimes makes me a little sad because I had many of these when I was younger and I wrecked quite a few and now though I have a very substantial collection of die cast and model cars, i still haven't forgiven myself for what I lost way back when. I have been able to find a few of those cars in the video though!
. ...and one thing more, if your older teach your children well. To learn what it is to preserve and appreciate what they have because ya don't know what you have until it's gone!

I used to have loads of these toys when I was a boy mainly trucks though & spent many a happy hour playing with never occurred to me how much they would be worth I just interested in playing with them happy memories though
TONS of long,long gone(I'm 60) old friends on display here. Takes me back. There was a hardware store in my old neighborhood(I'm still living very close to the area) and it sold Matchbox vehicles for 50 cents. They had a display case you could turn with the actual toys for sale safely behind the counter(an older,not very trusting husband and wife;the wife followed EVERYONE around the store). I can still see the boxes. Late 60s and early 70s. I also remember a display of DINKY TOYS at the Eaton's(I'm Canadian) department store in the Halifax Shopping Centre and another one in a drugstore at the same mall. I came to like HOT WHEELS too, but the UK made diecasts were better made,no wobbly wheels and more realistic looking.
My Friend / Boss had the Largest Miniature Liquor Bottles in the World and would go good with this Collection...But Remember Not to Drink And Drive in Your Match Box Cars... LOL.

This video is like mustard on ice cream. The ice cream is the great part with all the incredible Matchbox cars. The mustard is the annoying background noise that spoils it. Volume off - but still a great collection to see!

yes - this is a Matchbox model - reference number 28 Mack Dump truck - in the Series from 1969 and also in the Superfast range till arount 1980 in different versions- by the way - great job of restauration! - respect ! ---- greetings from Germany - Ralph

I have one of those BP trucks,bought at an antique shop several years ago and well played with. Pretty sure I had one when I was a kid. Didn't have many DINKY TOYS but did have an Oldsmobile and Lady Penelope's Rolls from that THUNDERBIRDS show. I remember fruitlessly looking for it at my folks' place in the early 90s knowing full well that my Mom had likely tossed it many years previous. Moms will do that. lol.

Where are you in the World? There’s magazines and books on the subject. If I remember correctly, there’s a book called “RAMSEYS GUIDE” which is regularly updated with values, original prices and information.
Charlie Mack has written several books about matchbox cars and their value...go to Amazon to find a current guide. If you aren't interested in keeping the cars, sell them carefully to ensure you get top dollar.

A fabulous collection. Wish I still had mine. Funnily enough I gave them away about the time that I got into Pink Floyd. My mum worked in the Lesney factory by the way. So I had a lot of them.
To me Brand-new toys that haven’t been played with serve no purpose . it defeats the whole reason for them being made I like the used toys They have a story to tell with all those chips of paint missing it gives them character !!
I had most of those as a kid. Still have some in the loft, including a gold Landrover safari and the horsebox it has always had with it, a Rangerover. , a few Capris, Escort mk2's a DAF car transporter, Scammel container truck and a Scammel box wagon. Layland flatbed. A SAAB Sonnet. SAAB 9000. A bin wagon, a Stalwart and a few others. May even still have the road roller too. The one I wish I still had must have been a factory reject or something. The BP towtruck, one of the ones I had had a green cab and yellow back. Oddly enough with real cars I have owned they are mirrored by the toy cars I had. Have owned Landrovers, a Rangerover, Capris, Escort nk2. And have had quite a few Saabs, in fact I still drive a SAAB.
nine chevy biscayne or malibu. five pontiac tempest. all examples with their original box. no one wanted a '64 Chevy to play with near whatever store had once stocked these. keep two examples, and sell the rest. waiting for them to increase in value due to demand? insert them back into their packages, and store in a humidity free environment. marty has featured restorations on several of these. seeing this many new examples, complete with their box somehow makes them less interesting. dark side of the moon

Remember the station wagon with Hunter and dog, farm tractor and trailer with barrels, Mercedes ambulance with removable stretcher....
I loved seeing the collection once I turned off the PF screetch lol. Obviously before they decided to add bass. Love PF but this... Not so much sry I have most of these since my childhood though most have been carefully played with. No crashes!!. I'm envious of that part of the collection I am missing and his fantastic display space and shelves. Minor change with the video, linger at the beginning of each shelf so we can enjoy the rare singles there
