- Hi po, welcome to my channel, this is Ingrid. I am a pinay wife of a Canadian and I'm also a teacher by profession. I do videos about our life here in Canada that includes my cooking, making DIY projects, my personal and professional experiences and how we live & enjoy the different seasons here as a Filipina and Canadian couple.

Hi, Ingrid. Im En, 27 years old. I taught in the Ph for 4 years in the college dept. I hold BSEd in English, MAEd in Teaching English a Second Language, and PhD in Applied Linguistics. Im currently based in UAE now, and have been teaching high school students for a year. Question: if pursue a teaching career in CAN, should i pursue teaching in the college dept or in HS? Thanks po.

First you need to apply for a visa to migrate here. Then have your credentials be assessed in the teacher licensing body in your province here :)

I am also an international teacher student from India and have already applied for my OCT license in july 2019...its taking way too long to process but while its in process I would like to gain teaching experience here and therefore I have applied so many daycare and teaching assistant or private teaching jobs but none of them accept without the certification. Please help me out with the daycare jobs who can hire without experience or can you recommend some day care centres in ontario specifically. Please I would really appreciate your help.
Your OCT application is really taking too long. My first job here while I was waiting for my teaching certification was at a daycare center. It's "Kids & Company".
I am a Govt Teacher in Jammu and Kashmir in northern part of India sonce 1992. I was B.Sc at that time. Then I have completed my M sc in Physics in 2008 and B.Ed in 2013.
Howevermy B.Sc was of 2 year's duration at that time and B.Ed was of 1 year duration.
I remain posted mostly in Primary School and remain the Head of the Institution since last 17 years abd my dubject of Teaching remains Math from pre primary to Class 5th.
Should I go for evaluation assessment of my qualification

First, is you need to find an employer. Unfortunately, its hard to find an employer for a teaching job here if you are outside Canada coz most of the schools here prefer those who are inland applicants.

You need to apply for a visa to migrate here, possibly student or working visa then apply for a teaching re-certification in your province here

The college is gonna require you to take practicum teaching to gain experience before granting you the license
Hello ma'am! Thank you po sa video na 'to. Nagkaron ako ng pag asa. Graduate po ako sa secondary education math major last 2020 pero hanggang ngayon hindi pa rin ako nakakapag LET dahil lagi pong napopostpone. Balak ko sanang mag migrate sa Canada para magturo kahit wala pa akong licence since walang kasiguraduhan kung kelan ang LET.
Sana po mabigyan nyo ako ng advice kung anong dapat gawin.. Fresh grad po ako at walang work experience.

I'm a licensed Elem teacher here in Phil and been teaching here for 6 years now. Now, I'm still waiting for any employer's feedback from my application. I'm applying for an assistant teacher in Can.I'm processing now my papers praying that it would be granted soon. However, i read one or your comments that it's really hard to find ang employer. Would it be easier to change my program ang shifted to student visa instead just to enter this country and of course to continue also my studies which in lign with my Profession? I don't think there is a teacher pathway of migrating here. Maybe the best way is to apply for the Express Entry and while while waiting for for the visa, you apply for the re-certification in your target province.
You should refer to the OCT website in Ontario. Go straight to the source and get your credentials analyzed. I did this with my Bachelors back in 2015 and they still told me I would need to go back to school. It is all about them wanting everyone to study in Canada. I would only recommend someone do this if they could save up and do this because they make you spend a lot of hours teaching in training for FREE! That is right. You work for free. I had to save up for three years to do this. They should really have you study for 1.5 years like before for the professional license but they want your $. I would never tell anyone you can make a living as a Tutor. Tutoring is not teaching my friend. NO WAY! There are companies that want to pay you 20 bucks each hour as a Tutor when the school boards pay more than twice this because it is government funded. I would recommend anyone go for their BPS because you do not need to go on to your graduate degree. I am not sure how the ECE feel about their jobs but I know you have to be willing to physically help the kids in the classroom and put up with the stress of dealing with kids with behavioural issues. Either way, find out how your qualifications match with the Ministry directly.

It depends on the assessment result of your credentials. I had a Masters degree too in the Phils and was granted with my license right away without any condition here

Hi Simran, you can visit the website and take an online assessment. Its for free. From there you will know how far you need to work out to get the license. Type 'Ontario College of Teachers' in google and go to there website for more information.

You need to be a bachelor degree holder and a licensed teacher in your home country for you to be able to apply for a re-certification here.

They (public schools) dont hire teachers from outside the country dito cuz teaching is a regulated profession here, which means you need to be re-certified when you got here. Those positions I mentioned in the vieo, they also prefer those inland applicants

If your destination province here will be in the french speaking province, maybe yes. For the English speaking provinces here, they prefer native English speaking teacher.

Madam Ingrid, I am a graduate of B.S.Ed Major in Mathematics in a state university. I am a LET 2014 Passer and currently working as a Public Senior High School Teacher (Teacher II). You can but the first thing you need to get is the visa to work here
