Removing the gray wire switches the bike from the wr ignition timing to the yz timing. Or in normal language it makes the bike rev better in the higher RPMs.
hi it was easy to do and did make a difference up through the revs also noticed that it sounded alot different and burnt more fuel also every now and then when i gave it some stick and let of you get small flames out the back . for road use i would leave the grey wire in but take out for the dirt hope this helps
You can definately just do the throttle stop that will just let you twist the trottle a little farther. I did the AIS and didn't re-jet with the GYTR stuff, I went with the JD jetting kit later on when I wanted to re-jet because it is a better kit.
Hi, congratulations for the video!! The cdi for this bike is different in USA or EUROPE models. I am not sure, but it must work in both. I have tried the two cdis, and the USA version is more agressive and powerfull at high rpms.
Does anyone know if the 2002 WR250F has the grey wire? The only one I can find is in a 2 wire harness going to the ECU. It has one black wire and one grey wire in that harness. Not sure if it's the right one. Any help is greatly appreciated!
You also don't have to remove the carb to re-jet it you can rotate it on the bike. The jets are on the bottom of the carb and the needle is in the top. It can be a pain the first time you do it, I would get on thumpertalk and do some research before you get started. There is a video from a user named coffee that shows the carb pretty well search on you tube for: re jet fcr-mx and it should come up His is off the bike but you can rotate it on the bike as well
I have a 2008 wr 250f and I am unsure of doing the mods because I have never had any problems with the bike and it always starts when I need it to. I just want to know what problems could happen if I did all these, and what are the positives because I want more speed and power. My bike is stock and it will do 75mph
I just bought a 2007 wr250, and I also bought the GYTR AIS Removal Kit that came with the parts necessary to rejet the CARB. Is it okay if i were to only remove the AIS system and not change anything else? Is it true that I also have to remove the entire CARB to rejet it and re - do the throttle screw?? PLEASE REPLY BACK
That would definately work, but I have found that once I did the mod I never wanted to switch back. My wifes WR didn't have the GW cut and mine did for a long time untill I got around to doing hers, so I got to ride them back to back a lot, and I must say that I don't see a reason to not do the mod.
Nothing until you also replace the WR throttle stop screw with a YZ or cut the WR screw to 25 MM. it will rev higher and that's when the grey wire mod it most effective.

Great video. Just bought my 2004 wr250f and checked if it had the mod. Turns out that it does, so I broke my gas line for no reason :/

if u jet it will it help the flames coming out the back?

It changes the ignition curve from the, shall we say, "relaxed" WR curve to the YZ curve. It makes a lot of difference.
