Hey First of nice Video ^^ atmora Level Design lead here. You have some nice points. At the end of the day we are volunters we are people with privat lives, contected in a amasing hobby. I can only say that progress is always going on but sometimes we have bottle necks like a dungeon Set which needs 3d work. Wenn stuff like this happens we need to wait until somebody whit the skills needed Shows up. ^^ But anyway i can say that in the last 3 years in which i am a Part of the Bs teams i saw some amasing progress and i can say that some work is going in the Direktion of a Release... but it needs time. In some weeks many people have time and a lot of progress happens in a short amount of time and then there are weeks were most people are occupied with theire own lives.

@@SenturosGaviannusI for example was part of the QA testers for Cyrodiil a few years ago. I saw the whole of Cyrodiil and I did test quests all across. Life struck me and I haven't been able to come back sadly, but I can confirm that the work of the teams is awesome and if people want the provinces to come out, they should be thinking about truly contributing to the projects. But contributing isn't just a walk in the park, to hold up the quality that the projects have, you have to follow the rules and procedures so that every cogwheel works with another and nothing gets stuck

As a 2 people team trying to recreate a real life place whilst filtering some brands, changing most art with interiors and more, we have worked over 2 years on this and we are under 25% of the way
I can understand the reason, these people are building 2x skyrim into the game itself, just like we are trying to build a real life area... but i also understand the people too, i can understand the wait i keep seeing to explore the streets and hear all the sounds of a complete ambience...
The people must all be very excited to explore and sometimes that hype we feel can get us angry sometimes, but see this as a crop field, it takes time to grow and perfect into high quality food, we can be quick by making the food less tasty or even worse, but we want to enjoy the harvest, therefore we put extra work!
Again, i understand the hype even i am hyped about the BS upcoming releases, same as i am with my project, but we just need to wait, which the modern world and its way of doing things does not help and cause us to be angry as we wait, dont worry guys, sometines the wait just makes momemtum for a real long-lasting great time!
Thanks for reading and sorry for this long message, just wanted to let people understand the weird situation where developers try so hard to do great and the people who really like the idea sometimes feel bored on the wait, both sides have good intentions though... Have a great day guys and hope the best for everyobe abd the BS team (idm this comment being spreaded if it helps with anyone as i think it is important for people to understand both sides)

The truth is, Beyond Skyrim is biting more than they can chew. I admire the passion behind the project, but a handful of modders working voluntarily on the entire Tamriel map, and at a scale bigger than what Bethesda's tackling, is just too much. For a mega project like Beyond Skyrim to be made, you do have to understand that it will absolutely take a long time to make. Each team working on each province of Tamriel (including Roscrea and Atmora) are working as hard as they can, and you do have to understand that these individuals behind each project are people too. Each person will experience burn out eventually, personal lives, too. Like the phrase that Rome was not built within a day, you should not expect these mods to come out when the fan base want's them to come out. Each region of each project being released one by one instead of a pre-release then whole project would be unrealistic for what the project is doing, since they would have a whole workload that seems unreasonable for this scale. What BSK is doing for each county in Cyrodiil, as you mention, yes, it's rather ridiculous, but you do have to understand that it is so the province does not feel empty or lifeless, at least what it seems in my eyes. Yes, it is in their free time to work on these projects, and they are willing to do it. If they dislike doing it, they have the option of opting out of continuing their role, otherwise they stand passionate and willingly working on said project they're apart of. You're correct on the fact that a project like Valenwood is far from release, only because a project like Valenwood is newer to the Beyond Skyrim branch and did not have much work done when it first became apart of it, on the other hand, a province like Cyrodiil might have only another 1.5 years or even 2 at most before it's release. Seeing all of their work done through their yearly Creation Mod Con that they put together shows even greater than each pre-release that they're managing to do these projects, and even in their Discord server, they're even communicating with people who are willing to either join or even just give support socially. At the end of the day, you have to understand that these people are willingly working on something they love doing, no need to bash them because they are working perhaps their hardest for what they want.

You make a lot of valid points. But some of it is stuff we've heard a million times...over half a decade ago. I think people are well within their rights to want to see more tangible progress. The video you linked showing off Cyrodiil's completion is definitely a good example of this.
Another thing I'd mention is that the statement about how much of a headache it would be to retroactively link quests together: Sure that works for the case of Cyrodiil. But that doesn't exactly apply to cases like Atmora or Roscrea which one would reasonably think would be isolated from the mainland Tamriel. And if anything it's disheartening that with those two examples, they've apparently gone through so many revisions and complete re-does of the ideas behind the place. I'm fairly certain Atmora started off as an unrelated mod with a fairly rudimentary landmass demo which then got brought into the fold of BS...and somehow that has stalled or even reversed its progress when every logical assumption would have you think the opposite should have happened in all the years since.
The obsession with revision and perfection before release is all the more frustrating as we're seeing it be far more mainstream in the AAA games industry for fully priced new games to rely on patching in updates later. Some games are outright broken lol.

I'm not on Atmora so I can't speak for it or why they did what they did, but Roscrea hasn't changed its vision. What you are thinking of is the landmass fix they had to do a year ago and that was mechanically necessary. The legends busted it out in a year about and are now very close to release - so don't get discouraged for that one. Check out the recent CMC to see what I mean!

What I find sad is that BS bruma released 7 years ago and was only meant to be a pre release "taste test" of what we could expect, and we haven't had any other release since then. Half a year before Bruma released the team posted a video where they said every content there was completed, and they only had QC left. It took them 6 months to quality check tiny Bruma when ALL the content was completed. 6 months. And we haven't had any releases since then. How in the world are we supposed to get Cyrodiil? let alone all the other places.
There are still a couple pre releases that are supposed to come, but they haven't even been announced. If they release next year (unlikely as hell) and we follow the same timeframe of bruma then we won't get the full release of the nation minimum 7+ years after (and still going). Do you honestly believe people will continue working on this mod in the late 2030s? I don't.
The sad truth is that this team bit of way more than they can chew. And the god's honest truth is that it will most likely never be released. I don't even have faith BS cyrodiil (or any other full nation) will be released.

I've never had a problem with the wait. It's a group of massive projects. Effectively seven or eight different entire Skyrim sized games or bigger for the most part. Building up from the ground with sometimes very little lore to work from in the case of Roscrea and only a few words about Atmora. And all that done by people volunteering their personal time. If we get to see even a couple of the projects to completion it's a massive success.
I so wanted Bethesda to do something with Atmora and the Sea of Ghosts during their Skyrim development period. They'd built up such a mystery to what happened there as well as the Sea itself and then did nothing with any of it.

As much as I love this project and the hours volunteers have put in it, they have failed the PR massively. They've hyped people up with something that might never see the light of day, and has grave uncertainties. • @SenturosGaviannus

It's some backward thinking, to be honest. First of all, it's going nowhere if they never show it. They won't pull in people who have the skills and interest in making this come out.
And it might not, but it might. And the more they come and add in, the closer it comes to being completed. It's not a guarantee, it's never been. It's a dream. It's a dream they're working on for it to become real. Fallout is like 1/10 the size of anything that The Elder Scrolls has to do in scale.
There's so much more going into TES games than Fallout games.
If you look at all the crazy shit they have done with Cyrodiil you will see theres no lack of movment, they are very far ahead. And moving at a good pase. for a free mod, that outdoes Bethisda on every level. And since its free the people making this have to live their lives and work. I think they run into the same problem of any game that takes too long, especially any beth game....modding modernizes the current releases in the eyes of the player. Beyond skyrim content looks outdated because it is being built in the style of a 5 or 6 year old skyrim...so as they finish this massive project they have to continually be updating assets, lighting, weather, textures, character models to meet a standard that is constantly improving due to skyrim. Even if they release the game will probably be insufficient graphically and will be needing modders to update it to be as populat as it should be.

just a guess but,. they still looking for volunteers to do quests, levels, voice, navmesh, etc etc etc . They start these things without the people required to do it and then hope to get all these professionals (because the people putting mods onto the nexus aren't good enough for them) to do the things for free. I'm guessing that most of the people who they had at the start have left for paid work or careers or whatnot. The Cynic in me says they milk it for their own ends, for their own skill demonstrations or god forbid youtube views and are therefore actually not really in much of a hurry for that to end. Hey but I'm just a skeptic who didn't take the covid vax so what do I know. Most MODS because that's what they are get released way before being finished and then get added to over time AND other modders release stuff for them like patches fixes voiceing like Vigilant and Glenmoril. Look at Beyond Reach that is a great mod and grew into that by being released and added to by independent modders. That's the thing they want ownership, the final say in everything about the mod, when the whole reason for Skyrim's success is because it is so customizable with mods.

I have to agree, no one expects beyond skyrim to be perfect, and people should expect it to still be developed after release because mods are. I dont understand why they don't release portion by portion, it would take the same amount of time to integrate the portions together, and they would gain even more support to motivate them, and motivation is key to unpaid modders. I can imagine BS cyrodiil releasing, but the other projects may not

Even if ES6 releases, there's so many conditions that have to be met for it to be competition for beyond Skyrim.
It has to be good on release for a start which Bethesda have been pretty incapable of since Skyrim.
It's also not going to be anywhere near the scope. Unless Bethesda release a game that covers the entirety of nirn, beyond Skyrim will always have its niche and purpose.
