I’m so sorry to hear of the loss of your Mum. Grief takes us all differently. I think of it as a coat that we wear. Sometimes it’s really heavy but we can’t take it off, over time, we feel that we can bear to wear it less. Sometimes it’s lighter and we can hang it up. It’s always there but we don’t always have it on. I hope that makes sense x Your mum is around you all the time, just a breath away xx
In case you didn't know, if you're using turmeric in anything you need to add a little black pepper to release the health benefits of the turmeric. Love your channel ❤
I’m so impressed with you preparing and eating so healthy while sick. I love chia seeds and will sprinkle them and hemp hearts on my avocado toast and when lazy having packet oatmeal, I’ll add both to the packages to increase nutrition and make more filling. Please take care of yourself. I’m in Canada and Covid is on the rise again. Hope you can get rest.
Hoping you feel better soon. I just love your videos. you have a lovely clear voice and an amazing personality. I think you are brave in your experiments but glad that most of them seem to work. it is hard being single on a budget, i just make lots of big vegtan meals (soups, stews and a mild curry) and freeze portions so i dont have to cook all the time. I have binge watched all your videos now ... and I really enjoyed them. I am now going to start with your first video and watch them all again as I miss watching you all the time. I wish you all the best and look forward to following your progress. I will be trying out some of the food ideas that you have shown. thankyou.
My deepest condolences on the loss of your mum Rechenda 💔💔. While you can never get over losing a parent, I hope your heart starts to feel better soon xx
When you cook tomatoes it increases the lycopene content and it increases even more so when adding olive oil to cooked tomatoes. Well done for getting these videos out whilst feeling unwell🙋♂️🐈
Loving your blogs here in south australia, knowing how much you like cabbage thought i'd share a cheap and cheerful meal I leant of my late mum who passed in 2022. Using a cooked chicken breast or any part of a left over sunday roast, chop and add to a pan add a couple of chopped carrots, a chopped onion and 1/2 a small head of cabbage plus water and curry powder to taste. Then cook until veg are soft and tender, can be eaten as is or drained and served with rice. Enjoy! ❤🐨❤
Well done Rechenda for being a trooper getting this weeks vlogs out and filming for us feeling grief and still going please look after yourself we will still be here when you feel bettter but you did great making burgers and bread (big hug to Jack).xxx
Hope you are feeling better soon. Nothing worse than being poorly. I also lost my mum 2 years ago to heart failure , so I know what you are going through😢. I thought my life ended that day, but I’ve started to except that’s she gone now and I have to live my life how she would want me too for my kids sake also. So sorry to hear about your mother passing away so quickly. I almost lost my mother to sepsis over a year ago. It took a long time for her to recover. It was a very traumatic time. Sending you love ❤
You shouldnt use old antibiotics and youre meant to finish the course even if you feel better, increases antibiotic resistance and affects everyone. In case you didnt know 😊 Also wondering how Kerry is doing?

Hi Ru and Jack-boy! I've been watching your 'recuperaton' series, but I'm also a bit under the weather so I haven't been replying until today....Had a nice hot bath and a shave so I'm practically human again hehehe. I also had a nice cabbage dish, cooked in butter with slow cooked onions and caraway. with a couple of german Turkey Weisswurst .... I've been making my own homemade bread since the 1970s. when I make a yeasted loaf for me the darker the better with lots of seeds etc. The slice you had in the soup looked just the ticket. We have a lovely avocado tree (Haas) in the garden that gets it's water from the rainy season. What we crave is what we need. Tomatoes has Vitamin C & A. B1, B2, Potassium Calcium Phosphorus Sodium. Generally Tomato is a Laxative and Anti-inflammatory and antiseptic. Good for high blood pressure, Cholesterol, and lung infections.... I'm having slices of cheese (Dutch Maasdam) with homemade chicken liver pate. Keep taking care of yourself and Prince Beanie. I'm with you in spirit if not always in long rambling posts hehehe. All the best Jim and crew.
Dr John Campbell has just interviewed an Australian immunologist who has discovered a definite link between the microbiome (gut health) and the immune system. Being scientifically-minded I had already considered a link and did my own research which suggested the same. Thus key for those with tetchy guts is to increase consumption of pre- and pro-biotics. For the last 2 years I have been making my own kimchi and other lacto-ferments and have eaten full-fat natural live yoghurt for many years. These definitely help to keep lurgies and chest infections away.
@@TheBudgetFoodie Dear Ru, thanks for asking, I'm much better. Still with some hovering symptoms but nothing major. You keep taking care of yourself so that we can see you dancing and running about. Rechenda, my daughter in law just got over a horrible case of COVID. My son had to take her to the emergency room. They said all they could give her was a really strong cough syrup to help her sleep. The thing is , she had previously tested negative for COVID the previous week. She had your very same symptoms. I hope you test again. I’m a little worried about you. Please take care. Marcia
They said she was too late for it. The frustrating thing for all of us was she tested twice and it came back negative. Next day she almost died in the shower because she couldn’t breathe. It was scary.
Well done for knocking out videos whilst unwell. Have you tried a simmus oil facial steam? It really helps your lungs. whenever I am feeling poorly, I make some magic brew: fresh ginger, lemon juice, curcuma & a splash of water. Whizz it in the bullet, drink cold or warm. A bit of honey when you have boiled it up, makes it a bit extra. Hope you feel better soon.
When you have turmeric you need to add black pepper so your body and absorb it, also try getting a cheap tin of jackfruit from lidl great meat alternative. You're amazing

If you will eat a teaspoon of peanut butter it gets rid of hiccups. You can always make some bean soup…if you have any of your bacon or ham left along with some diced onion, garlic and carrot. Add S&P…then add in chicken broth or water to cook everything in. Serve with a little green onion for garnish and you have the chicken broth, onion and garlic to help with your congestion along with the beans for your protein. Serve with some of your crusty bread. Also, baked potatoes have vitamin C. Use some of the broccoli to make broccoli cheese soup then use any leftover soup to top a fluffy baked potato. Also very good if you put some of the canned onions as a garnish. Also potato and corn chowder is good too. My mother always made me chicken & rice soup for when I was 🤒. Please postpone this challenge until you are well. Go to the doctor and have some bone broth.
bone broth is brilliant when you are ill. It has the nutrients you need!. I always have steak and egg if I feel ill, but I am rarely ill maybe once every 2 to 3 years.
💕😀xx oh, please Richenda go to the doctor. You could end up with permanent lung damage if you neglect an infection. 🙏🙏🙏
I went in the end Sue and saw a lovely nurse, nod got antibiotics xx
Go to the doctor, you need to look after yourself to look after Jack! You could be getting pneumonia!
Ok yes I shall xx
Wow, listening to someone cough wetly in an insane completely unedited stream of consciousness, and talking about vomiting, what a great idea for an appetizing food video.
Thanks Andy!
Are you always passive aggressive or do you occasionally realize that it’s not necessary to be a wank to strangers on the internet?
When you have turmeric you need to add black pepper so your body and absorb it, also try getting a cheap tin of jackfruit from lidl great meat alternative. You're amazing
