My company just bought one of these for our break room at work and people (including myself) have been getting pretty annoyed. I am now a hero. Thank you.
Thank you, you are genius. I was almost about to return my Panasonic microwave. As per manual, I kept pressing Stop/Reset button. Whoever wrote the manual should be fired, this was serious frustration. Thanks a lot.
Thanks. New Panasonic this week, and was ready to take it back as the booklet and web site no help. Even though my model has a different layout , I figured your tip out. Much appreciated.
For the newer Panasonic microwaves the disable feature is "inv turbo defrost" "timer' then "Popcorn" .... for this to work first press "0" to unlock and make sure the door is physically open
We have a NN-SB65NS 1100 Watt unit. The manual said press Start or Stop three times to enable/disable the lock. Then the unit went back to lock mode and those buttons no longer affected the locking. Of course it was in the ON mode. YOUR solution worked! Thank You!
True stuff - we had a Magic Chef 1000w microwave that this Crapasonic replaced. That 'Chef was used daily for over 23 years. We kept it clean and it still looked new. So recently I went to use it and there came an orange flash from the control panel. Unit was dead. Checked outlet, surge suppressor, etc - nope, she was gone. I should have taken it to at least see if it could have been fixed. This Panasonic? About two months and the child lock on/off failed in the ON mode. It also will beep once at random - usually a few hours apart. "They don't make them like they used to" is the phrase.
Mine did the same thing but I just did what he showed and it's now disabled but now I gotta figure out how to cook something longer then five minutes....can't figure it out

Thank you so much! Why isn't this in the sodding manual? We have been pressing the stop reset button three times until we both had calluses! Nothing happened ! For all those this has happened to, we should write a review on the Panasonic site or wherever they are sold that does reviews! I'm sure that many would just thinh their microwave was toast and buy another? Maybe that is the idea? Do these instructions show up in any manual. How did you Upnorth find out about this?
There was just a momentary power outage. It reset my Panasonic microwave. I have to redo this and I had forgot the 3 buttons. This evening I will be getting out my label maker to make up a sticker.
Thank you so much! It worked like a charm. We are ln our late 70s and no little ones around us. My husband keeps forgetting about the lock and starts jerking the door on our new microwave. The lock just annoys me and it pisses me off! I use my microwave at least 10 times a day.
Thank you ssssoooooooo much! I tried numerous times trying to disable the child lock following what the directions told me, but it did not work… Your way worked-thank you! How did you figure it out? -Bill
Thank you very much. Instructions on the new 2024 model we got were not accurate. Your disable instructions worked perfectly. Do you know if these settings will revert back to the factory settings if we lose power to the MW? Merry Christmas!
I have the nn-sc73ls version that has number buttons on it how do i dissable that one because it doesnt have some of the buttons people keep mentioning in the comments

thanks made my day disconnecting the child lock. 👍
Manual didnt make it clear how to do it so thank you for making it easy 👍
You're my favorite person of the decade!!!!
Yes! Thank you! As others mentioned, instructions included to disable child lock on recent models are incorrect.
That is wild! Not even in the manual lol!! Thanks!!!
Thank you, just bypassed the child lock so my elderly parents don't have to struggle with the microwave.
Thank you so much, the manual instructions didn’t work.
