2024 TOYOTA TUNDRA SR5 TRD OFF-ROAD FIRST TIME IN THE SNOW. HOW DID IT DO?

- I am used to driving I terrible conditions but usually I have had a chance to pick the tires I want. This truck is still on the stock tires and I was a bit nervous to try this out. But I must say I am very impressed.
2024 Toyota Tundra SR5 TRD off-road
That’s impressive for factory tires, you’ll be happy you didn’t go with an f150, I’ve found the aluminum bodied trucks don’t have the same sure footedness as the steel bodied trucks stock for stock. It took running a set of 10ply KO2s on my aluminum trucks to match my steel body trucks with factory tires. Loving the tundra content can’t wait for the up fitting videos to come. For a bed mat go to a farm supply store and get an 8x4 rubber stall mat and cut to size
I couldn’t agree more!! I owned an older gen F150 steel body (2013) supercab 5.0L and loved the truck! It handled great in the snow! I tried a new aluminum body 2017 2.7EB (same supercab style) and did not make it two years before trading it in! I had almost no confidence driving in the snow (even as little as an inch of snow, the truck felt super floaty). Not sure I could ever own an F150 again, aluminum body is just too light for winter weather!I’m in a Ram now, but really wanted a tundra!
I always liked driving in the snow when we went skiing or just off-roading up in the mountains.

Looked like the truck did really well on the slushy roads. I grew up in northern Illinois, so drove on plenty of those roads myself. Was impressed with those Michelins, for being a manufacturer selected tire. Stay safe and warm up there my friend.

In the US, all the TRD Off Road's come with the Falken Wildpeak's I believe and in Canada we get the Michelin's. Factory tires are just so soft! The Falken's are on my list of tires to try for sure after seeing how they performed on your F350

We finally got our first storm. Felt good to get out there and push some snow. Love that new tundra I’ll be in the market after this winter can’t wait. Sorry your spice everybody around my way is dropping like flies. Weird viruses going around everywhere
Same weather here in NB today, my old boss has an 07 tundra that's been used and abused for years and that thing does awesome in the snow.
Wow... I would never dream of driving that fast in those conditions... and I live in Wyoming and spend a LOT of time driving unimproved and untreated roads.

I was also very pleasantly surprised how the Michelin LTX Trails did in the snow when I got my Tundra! I have about 40k km's on my truck now and they are pretty worn down and wearing unevenly but 35's going on next week!
I am running a set of Continental Viking Contact 7's (pure winter tire) with extra ballast in the back of my '23 Tundra SR, very nice and stable, If I was going to use it off road I would have went with a AT Winter Tire, but so far loving the Continental's. My dealer says the bed mat is on back order and we should see something "by spring" along with my 2nd key! If you look up AFE Front Tow hooks, they are a good affordable option, a way better price point than changing out the front bumper!
Great video, good info about the new tundra. I have a trd offroad tacoma, and it does awesome in the snow. I hardly ever use 4x4 to be real with you. I'm running 285/75r17 bfg ko2s.
I have a 23 limited trd offroad with the factory falken wildpeak tires. It is better in the snow then my 2012 was with the bfg ko1, ko2 and ridgegrappler tires that i had on that over the years. The traction control is alot less intrusive then it was on my 2012 was too.

I've had 3 Toyotas... all great. The second one was the first fuel injected vehicle I ever had... I was shocked,no stomping on the accelerator... pulling the choke... miracle.. turn the key... Ha
Nice video! Nice truck! And nice driving, dude!! Those roads look gross. I definitely prefer driving on a couple inches of snow, rather than slush, or wet icy roads!
That longer bed tundra, seems heavy and planted! Would be awesome for us here in Maine, USA!

Not really I’d say go drive a couple trims to pick the one you want.
Those Michelins are legit I ran them on my 2wd work truck here in Colorado. Try them in 33s
Truro Toyota told me April for bed mat. I ordered a rough country because these beds (long time Tacoma owner) are slippery and it’s annoying when everything you put in your bed sides around like it’s on ice.
The RC bed mat looks identical to the Toyota one minus the Toyota letters. I have the Toyota one in my 22 Tacoma.
Yeah that’s what I’m needing as well. The limited comes with the mat and they threw the mat in on mine so I’ll have to suffer threw it I guess

Unloaded daily driving fuel economy decent? I tow a dump trailer on weekends currently have a 19’ Ram Cummins 3500. Have been thinking about doing this exact swap for a while now.

Factory tires aren’t the same as off the shelf. I replaced them with Continental terrain contact AT’s.

Interesting, I tried to build one on the Toyota site because I can’t find any like this at any dealership in the USA, they all have a cube window if it is a 6.5 foot bed. Even the one I built on line.
If anyone reading this knows if you can get the full roll down window with the 6.5’ bed on a 24 Tundra please advise.
Looks like the minimum for the full rear window is the SR5 crewmax

The trucks I get to drive are light in the arse end and not fun to drive on those roads.
