Andrea 🥰💐 hello lovely lady ❤️ thank YOU so very much for watching! Keeping fingers crossed that this orchid will survive long enough to overcome the cold and wet weather that we are expecting for 8 days straight! That is all I want to see in the forecast at the moment. It could be longer, but the orchids are back in lock down. Today was nice and sunny, and everyone was outside, got a full inspection... and when they were brought in, they are placed in such a way that, if I switch on the lights, they should not burn. 🤞🏼now we wait, hold our breath and hope that everyone will come through the coming week without any casualties! Thank you so much for watching Andrea!! Have a wonderful Sunday 🥰🌸
Ingrid, hi 😍💐 they really are beautiful and ... with a little luck, we will get to see them again later in the year! That would be nice! Right now... I need this orchid to survive the coming very cold 8 days minimum! 🤞🏼 wish us luck! The orchids are all inside, in a weather hold lockdown 😥 thank you so much for watching, Ingrid! I hope that you had a beautiful day 🌸
To big of plant for my situation, but love the blooms!¡ 😘 Hope you're have a great start to your weekend Nina. 😏 I have the foggers on in the case right now... Looks like a definite cloud forest in there. 😅 Later Gator... 🐊
Hi Robert 😍💐 I am freezing my cojones off! 🥶🤯 the big southern Spanish freeze is in full swing! Other than that... hakuna matata!! Champagne problems... hic! 🤪 Thank you for kind wishes... and the same right back at you! Hope your Saturday is off to a wonderful start. The foggers... what a visual that must be. Amazing 🤩 I would plonk myself in that environment and not come out. thank you so much for spending some time with me 😘... in a while, crocodile 🐊❤️
Hi Stephen 🥰💐 and she is little! she grows slow, won't take up much space, unless she starts a root that sticks out like a sore thumb... and, well, stays cute! If you ever find one, I am sure that it would be a perfect fit 😉 I am the match maker! 😅 thank you so much for watching, Stephen! I hope your Saturday was wonderful and wish you a cozy peaceful Sunday 😘🌸
Jose, hi 🤩💐 another one that I had to replace when I lost my first one, so... this one better not go down hill the way my first one did, because I cannot afford to buy another one, and I do not want to be without this orchid 🤞🏼 that nothing happens to it, and 🤞🏼 that you can find one, because... your climate is perfect for it!! Thank you so much for watching, Jose 🌸 wishing you a wonderful Sunday 🌸
Shirley, hi! 😍💐 yikes!! Snow!! And here I am having a hard time with the coming week, where I won't have temperatures any where near the comfort zone my orchids prefer. But snow... I am also so ready for spring 😩 still, I do not have snow. You are a tough lady, and I have a lot of respect for you! Thank you so much for watching, Shirley!! Wishing you a wonderful cozy evening 🌸
Hi Yoshi 🤩💐 yes... they do bloom when quite small, which is awesome 👍🏼 glad to hear that you have a spike going! And... I have added you to the list 😃 thank you so much for watching, Yoshi! I hope that you are doing well 🌸
🌸🥷🏼Trish San 😍🙌🏼🤸🏼♀️🥰❤️ guten Abend aus Spanien, Freundin! I am looking forward to when you get your replacement! I have never removed your name from the list. Same situation with my first one. I was so sad to tell you what I was seeing on your's, was what I saw on my first one. I had a hard time trying to sound positive. Looking forward to your 2.0 👍🏼👍🏼 I hope that you are doing well, amiga 🌸🥷🏼! Thank you so much for watching. Have yourself a great Saturday evening, when you get there 🥰🌸
🦒🙋♀️🙌💖 Monachica, I find the name so funny!!! The orchid is very nice and the blooms are gorgeous. Interesting that yours blooms in the summer and others are blooming now? I suppose not all orchids bloom at a certain time of the year as a self made rule. Others seem to wait till conditions are most favourable to be ready. Smart chicas, that's what they are 😍 Yesterday did not start very nice and I even hang all my epiphytic cacti on the peach tree hoping they would be rain watered but it didn't rain and the afternoon even turned out to be very sunny and warm. However it is pouring now and so they should be drenched by now. Too bad I cannot do the same with the orchids, at least the Vandas but I do not dare, it is cold, 12 C now and it might not rise above 15C. Our climats are so sun dependable to get the warm temperatures 🙄 We need the rain though and if it continues through the month of March it will soften the consequences of the draught situation. Sunny or rainy I hope you do well and have a nice productive day. Much love to you amiga mia 💖😍🥰
FFF 🙌🏼😍🤸🏼♀️🥰💐 I love the name, even though the jury is still out whether it is pronounced the spanish way or the 'other' way! I just love the name. Well, mine has to endure conditions that it absolutely hates! If I had a controlled environment, I suppose it would respond differently. Just so long as it stays alive, that is all I want from it atm! Just please stay alive! Today was a nice sunny day for most of the day, but, tonight I brought the orchids in and placed them in such a way that the artificial lights can be switched on without affecting the leaves, because... the big southern Spanish freeze has officially begun! No temps higher than 17º during the day and as low as 10º during the night for the coming 8 days, with rain predicted as well. Even if it is cloudy and doesn't rain, there are no warm pockets on my patio when it is overcast! I am sitting here with ice cold hands... I cannot imagine that it is going to be warm anywhere on my patio during the coming days! I am not looking beyond 8 days... now, I am taking one day at a time and just keeping my fingers crossed that this is the last of it, because, I cannot stand much more of this, and neither can my orchids! At least, some of my orchids 😥 I had a very productive day... I managed to film enough footage to allow for editing while it is nasty outside, so, I feel ok about that! Still... wish us luck, meine liebe Freundin, wish us luck... my orchids need luck now 😩💆🏼♀️💆🏼♀️ thank you so much for watching, amiga! Thank you so much for your support, and thank you so very much for the friendship ❤️ have a warm cozy evening! And a peaceful start to your Sunday ❤️🌸
Hi Gabrielle 🥰💐 first of all, I am sorry that I have not been able to watch your video yet. Today was the last day that I had a sunny one, before a whole week of nasty and cold coming up. I had to take full advantage of the conditions outside, so... I have a lot of catching up to do, but, I will get there! The thrips... I am going to give mine a little paint job tomorrow, so... even though I do not see any scale, I am not immune to the thrips issue, so... thank you for that reminder!! I shall go over mine tomorrow, just to be sure 👍🏼👍🏼 really appreciate you joining in on this update! Thank you, and once again, my apologies for not having watched your video yet 🙏🏼 have a lovely evening 🌸
Yeah, the slowness of the Renanthera is right up there. That Kalsom 'Red Dragon' that Yoshi sent me, it has grown a fair bit but it isn't showing me any signs that it wants to bloom. I'm going to kick it down the road and let someone else that might be more interested in it have it. Plus it developed three aerial roots that just stick straight out and they are getting long long long. Well, we shall also be getting COLD Saturday so I feel your pain. Supposed to last just 36 hours and then we get back to normal. But, man, a 40 degree F temperature change in one day is a lot for here, especially now. And it is supposed to rain hard so the plants will be cold and wet overnight. I don't think one night of cold and wet will do them in, but I'd sure prefer they be dry.
Don Miguel 🥰💐 I Hope that it survives the coming week! The slowness is the biggest danger during the colder days and nights. So far, I am hopeful, but the real test comes now! The southern Spanish big freeze has begun! I am only look 8 days ahead and we are at 8 -1 now... and counting! I was able to do a lot of filming today, so I have material to work with for days! I have configured all orchids in a position that should the lights come on, they will be ok, ... 🤞🏼 I think I am just about caught up with the Ninja Clips, dealing with CareCollabs... one CareCollab is counting 82 emails in total so far 😱 ONE! perusing orchid collections to match the database, I mean, I am not short for activities, but... the cold is going to freak me out in the coming week! I hope that your cold snap is not going to affect your orchids in any way! 🙏🏼 36 hrs is a cold snap, 8 days and nights... I consider that a recipe for disaster, and we are so close to warm temps... so close! I cannot be loosing orchids 'last minute'!! Wish my orchids and I luck 🙆🏼♀️🙏🏼 thank you so much for watching, Michael! I hope that you had a wonderful Saturday and are enjoying a great evening. The weather has had a massive effect on the gold in Sawgrass.... at least that will take the tournament through to Monday 😅 ❤️
Funny, for us right next door this winter has been pretty regular, other than the drought. Hopefully things will improve soon and this winter will be just a distant memory for you.
Hello you lovely people 😍💐 thank you so much for watching my little update, I really appreciate it! The longest and coldest stint has just begun! This was the last sunny day as per the forecast and we are now headed into gloom and rain for at least 8 days. I am freezing my hands off! The pups are keeping my feet nice and warm 😬 I am very thankful for pups that love lying at feet... and even in the summer I do not discourage them for doing that, because, I don't want them to loose that habit 😅 From what I can see with the forecast... 8 days... I don't dare look any further than that atm! It is COLD!! 🙆🏼♀️ unbelievable! 🌸
HI 😍💐 definitely!! In your environment, with all the humidity and rain that you have, I would not grow it any other way. Bar the not so rainy days, it will need watering daily. Still, you have the humidity to help you along 👍🏼 I have an average of 30% humidity year round, and hot dry winds to boot, so, my set up is geared to counteract the lack of humidity and buffer against the hot winds. I would be spraying myself silly, and risking stem rot if I did not do it this way. It is dangerous for the winter months, so I am tip toeing at the moment! But for 80% of the year, the set up works. If I had your conditions, I would not put it into any media 👍🏼 thank you so much for watching! ❤️🌸
