200bhp, 0-60 in 6.7s, loads of kit, £20k. Can't argue with that.
I mean...you absolutely can.
@oskar6661 Oh here we go.
i’m an mg technician and about 4 out of 10 mg3s i inspect on delivery have that sticky shift knob. seems to be a design issue at the factory and they should be rectified before going to the customer but sadly yours slipped through the gaps
Resale value aside, would you recommend an MG from a reliability standpoint?
I'm looking at an MG ZS Hybrid for the taxi / private hire industry... any thoughts on that in terms of reliability / high mileage?
Currently in a 2018 Kia Niro hybrid as a settle car, but that means its £235 a week all in.
@Fabulousprofound168 They don't have a good reputation for quality/reliability. A look at What Car's satisfaction survey will give you an idea.
Not a FORD. It's a car that'll probably struggle to get to 100k. 👍
'you don't need to know any of that' - yes, we do. This ia a fairly novel setup, and remarkable for a sub 20k car. Hybrid yet mainly range extending? NA engine - a big reliability gain.
or Duster, frontal impact . Test them both at 100 km/h frontal accident with cameras everywhere.
but 6.7s...... wtf
china baught mg and since then, this brand went straight downhill.
If you are already at the bottom you cannot go downhill
how? one of the best selling brands in UK
I’ll forgive your shite spelling but not your lack of knowledge. MG went bust. The Chinese saved the brand, created thousands of jobs in the UK and have large market share in several sectors.
The 0-60 in 8 seconds claimed is to allow enough time to put your hand bag in a safe place.
A 'cheap' car starting at 19K...good lord.
Tell me you’re over the age of 60 without telling me you’re over the age of 60…
This is a game-changer! We'd appreciate flappy paddles on the top of the range model.
In 3 years you’ll be lucky to sell it for 8k 😂
Why?
@@melvinnnamah9040hybrid battery worn out.
In my small country i see many MG on road but there is only few on sale as used ,but if you go to BMW section there are like 200 000 for sale used ,there are more like on sale then on the road ,like everyone who owns BMW is selling it at same time
@@melvinnnamah9040they devalue crazy cuz there are no spare parts for it, it's made with chinesium, and depending where you live, service might be a nightmare (it is in Mexico)
Yep definitely will loose it's value within a year or two... i check back to this comment in 2 years with price
I think this car and new prius could be good for a drag race
This car doesn't just have a cleaver and efficient engine but is the _best_ in it's segment. Too bad those tiny rims...
Just buy some huge rims. Even without a car they will be the better drive.
So wrong
No it isn’t, MG’s Hybrid setups can’t get close to the likes of Hondas and Toyotas.😂😂😂
£20,000 for a brand new car with hot hatch performance with a decent warranty, good finance payments. Very good. Honestly these comments about being made in china are all posted using a phone… made in china. I don’t care where anything is made, but then my vast experience in the motor trade, being a massive petrol head and biker means I’m probably more up with what’s going on in the car world. Get with the times people. £20k for a new car is a budget new car and what you get is great.
I do like this as a run around. I'll set a reminder in my phone to buy it used in 3 years for £10.
😂 Awesome
Run around? More like a huge paperweight.
Probably still couldn’t afford it.
rear end reminds me a Mazda from 10 years ago 😂
We lost the Fiesta 😢😢😢& replaced by something like this ffs! Typical of what is going on in the automobile industry nowadays I'm afraid 😨 🎉
I know it’s great isn’t it. The unreliable eco boost and 20 year old design are finally dead.
Surprisingly good, I’ll recommend it to the outlaws
Everyone in Australia hates MG trash. There have been many cases of the rear glass exploding for no reason.
When he said 194hp and the 8 sec 0-60 my brain couldn’t comprehend that was the truth… glad it a lot faster otherwise that would have been the worst engine ever produced
There’s gonna be some fast OAP’s out there if that does 0-60 in 6.7 seconds 😂😂
Apparently hybrids are really hard on their engines due to the cutting in and out all the time, engines are best running all the time which is why I've always disabled start stop when starting up my cars
You know why you have to pull a lever inside the car to open the fuel cap? In just about every other country. You don't have to fill your own car. Someone does it for you like in the good old days in England.
which country you’re talking about? never was in one of these
@@hardywoodaway9912 whole of south east asia or maybe even whole of Asia,
what are you talking about? We in Germany must be an exception too. And our experience in the US as well
edit: nevermind that conversation already happened
not sure I would consider asia „just about every other country“ tho
Kudos to the audio guy, this video sounds amazing.
21k for an overcomplicated hybrid system stuck in a tiny chinese hatchback. Who looks at this and says "Yeah what a deal"...?
Ikr
the hybrid system reminds me of the nissan e power hybrid system
A guy who doesn't care about customers
Do you get touched by an EV as a kid or something? Lmao
Do you hate it because it costs £21k, similar or better to many of its competitors, because it's a hybrid, or because MG was bought by a Chinese company?😂
Because this just sounds like badge-snobbery! 😂
I can see car rental fleets rubbing their hands over this one 😂
Mitsubishi Colt is 1000x better
Being Japanese is probably the reason why
You used to be able to get a ford fiesta ST for that base price😂
Yes and a freddo used to be ten pence…
If Temu made cars...
For that price i'd rather go with the Honda city e:HEV RS here in Malaysia. Much better than this MG plus in a sedan form.
for £10k I will thing abut it, £18k you can buy very good second hand car and you dont drive crap car, this new MG remaining me of my panda i use to own 10 years ago 😂 p.s. I am sure you can buy this car for under 10k after a year, New Skoda Fabia cost like £19k
I have no idea what you wrote but I’m still sure you’re wrong.
I’d rather have/buy a new Dacia than this, more space and better value for money than this in my opinion
I work at a mg car dealership and I suggest you stay away from any mgs they are awful and always have problems even brand new cars we had a mg3 demo lasted 3 weeks so stay away and save your money
P45 soon then 😂
After hearing that some cheap skates will still think it's a bargain.
Not been in the trade long then? You could say this about all brands…
I’m old enough to remember when Japanese cars started to come to the UK in large numbers, in the 1970’s. Many dismissed them as tinny, cheap etc. Don’t dismiss these cars.
This video is award-worthy!
20k for fiesta class. Its a crazy world we live in
Chinese.....no thanks.
And yet you probably typed that on a device made where?
I'd rather take a shitbox mg metro over this
MG must be paying some serious money to carwow for all this positive press, their cars are the lowest quality things I've ever sat in/driven, they spend more time in the garage than they do on the road 🙃
Looks like this is gonna be the most reliable and best ever MG.
This car in Australia start at 14800 pounds fully taxed , Or 15 824 pounds with 360˚ Camera Sunroof 10.25" Infotainment Screen Apple CarPlay & Android Auto. You guys in the UK are getting ripped off.
When it comes to cars we always do thanks to tax.
As always LOL
Even cheaper in China. LOL
@@Sython6 If you're into cars, the UK is possibly one of the best places to live on earth. You can get some absolutely ridiculous deals on used cars compared to other nations. I've lived elsewhere and sometimes the same car will cost twice as much.
We have governments that don't believe in incentives... only how to get blood from a stone...!
The bonnet looks like a 2007 Peugeot 207 🚗🤓
I can't understand people saying that it is expensive,it is literally one of the best value new cars out there...6.7 seconds for 21.000??
It's shite every other way.
@@jondonnelly3 nah you just hate Chinese cars
@@sfjvariety582Chinese cars in 2024 for the most part look nice tho.
@@jondonnelly3 like the other guy said, you have an agenda, change the badges to VW ones and you'd frothing at the mouth and overpaying for it
In this country we need to stop with the whole "best value" thing, in China this starts at £10,000.
I've seen many people mocking these cars, since "MG is back" and i can't understand why.
They could be a tiny bit cheaper, but besides from that, i think they're quite good.
AMAZING design for a car without history, faster than comparable models and especially: not a VW!
Cheapest hybrid you could buy and with real-life 55mpg more efficient, than most classic hybrids, good equipped, physical buttons, warranty...
Fully spec'd Polo is 31k£, "only" 10k more, what else is there to say?
Give your hard earned money to Beijing,Nah.
14:13 i am very impressed by the cameras of the MG. I have seen cars that are almost twice as expensive have ridiculous quality cameras!
I don't buy anything Chinese or Chinese owned, I even sold my volvo lol
Try buying anything that doesn't have Chinese components !
@tonyclewes8 Common bro, you know what I meant
Next sell your pants then 😂🩳
Next throw out your phone TV and other electronics you got. Communicate via pigeons
@@exempli646 Yes sir good idea, it's a really good idea, I will do that right now just hold my beer
The 2024 MG3 SUV is like a mix of Ford Fiesta 2013 + Focus RS.
Its not a bargain, its what a small runaround car should be costing. Dacia and MG will slowly take over the European market at the entry level, who tf wants to pay £25K for a fking POLO
