We were there last Monday and Wednesday... having lived 5 mins away with Premium Passes going weekly (often 2 or 3 times a week) to living 2100 miles away now and only going once every other year, I tear up entering the parks because it makes me so happy... I have been so down missing being there... there is no other feeling in the World!
It is so true about the happiness at arriving at Disneyland. I've always felt great just entering the turnstiles and seeing the train station above the image of Mickey. It lasts throughout the day. Even leaving the park, no matter how tired, I still have that happy feeling and know that I had a wonderful day.
Went to the park last Sunday and followed your Rope Drop steps. Went on Space Mountain first. Wait time sign said 30 minutes. We waited 12 minutes. We rode it twice! Rise was at a 75 minute wait, but was actually 32 minutes. we got in 5 rides before 10:00 a.m. Thank you David for your mad teaching skills on how to do early mornings!!!
We were the high fivers!! It was so fun to see you again! We also followed your rope drop strategy the first day of our trip and we got 6 rides in before 10 am. And on Saturday we were the ones enjoying just being in the park! Thanks for your content we love Fresh Baked!
Don’t get me wrong, I totally appreciate the enjoyment of taking it slow during the morning, but last time I went I rode 9 rides over the course of 1 hour and I swear that was some of the most fun I’ve ever had at Disneyland! It’s exhilarating and productive and a whole different kind of fun than taking things slow.
I rope dropped Peter Pan with my 1 year old a few weeks back, we got to there around 7:45 and managed to wait right up at the rope at the hub. We were one of the first crossing over the drawbridge, but lost some time in line because we had to park our stroller. But even with that lost time, it took us maybe 20 minutes to get on the ride. Those first 2 hours were so incredibly magical for the both of us. My son got to meet so many characters wandering around a fairly empty Fantasyland. I know rope dropping as an adult is smart if you want to get on all the "A ticket" rides, but rope dropping with a toddler is simply magical.
rope dropping is for everyone. matters not which rides you choose. the main objective is simply making things easier than it would be during the middle of the day.
@@FreshBakedDisney It really is for everyone! It's probably my favorite few hours of my park day. Thank you so much for making these videos! Watching them makes me wish I was back in the parks right now. 🥰 Here's hoping we'll be back in the spring!
I was there last week. Friday, arrived at 930. Hopped on train to Toon Town. Did 12 attractions before my wait list lunch at Carnation Cafe. Did a tiny bit of shopping, ended my visit at 2pm in Great Moments with Mr Lincoln. Then headed out to catch my flight. A very successful day in the park. 😊
Went to Disneyland for my daughter’s pre-three party. First time in two years and it was magical the joy and wonder of the day. Peter Pan is great, but it just takes a long time no matter when you go…and I think this queue is the only ride that is off in a negative way. All the other rides overestimated time some by almost 20 minutes (autopia), but has been almost 10 minutes off to the negative every time I’ve gone and that’s back when I used to be a pass holder many years ago. Also, we saw Princess Merida for the first time! Was over by it’s a small world and was a pretty amazing experience for my daughter. And no one was around so we got such a long interaction with her. Thanks for all the work you do. Was truly helpful to maximize our day.
"Maximizing minutes" says the master at 8:30am as he stands in single train Matterhorn without using single rider -- could've ridden Dumbo or Tea Cups ten times instead! LOVE the balance David always unintentionally has between casual and all-out maximal action. You are all of our classic modern Disneyland HERO! Keep Living the Dream! Aloha and I Love You, Everyone! Too much fun...
I love your enthusiasm and positive outlook. We’re heading to Disneyland in a few weeks and watching you makes me SO excited! I hope we can run into you & Liz and give you a BIG smile to say thank you. ❤
I really wish I could rope drop but I just can't find myself getting up at 5:30 am to get there by 7:30 am. What you said about Disneyland is so true. It's a feeling! It makes me feel like I'm going back in time to a small town where everyone is happy and cheerful. The real world is nothing like that now unfortunately. Thank you for what you do David. You are truly appreciated!❤
It is SO worth it though!!! We used to live up in the High Desert and would sometimes get up at 4:30am to be on the road by 5am so we could make rope drop. It is the BEST TIME!
I love the peer joy. This is exactly how I feel in the parks and I don’t go nearly as often as Fresh Baked. But what that shows is that Disneyland provides. Disneyland provides pure joy for so many, day after day. This is why all we love it. Thanks for all you do. Fresh Baked!
Love these kind of videos you have been doing involving efficiency. Your channel is by far my favorite Disney Park channel. I would love to do these kind of analysis at Islands of Adventure in FL.
We did magic morning once and we knocked out Peter Pan first thing ( we were the first ones in line!). We did some more fantasy land rides and then rope dropped Rise. Didn’t think 30 minutes would be enough, but it really helped to be done with popular rides like Peter Pan.
I can feel the genuine excitement and happiness coming through the screen. I felt the magic of Disney and it brought back the fun memories of my spring trip a few months back. So magical even as an adult!
Oh, really happy to hear this coverage. Video’s that show such love of the parks, from David and Liz have this 75 year old east coast Disneyworld fan, planning a bucket list trip with my daughter to Disneyland. We are more inclined to do Peter Pan than space mountain at rope drop and love runaway railroad in Florida and can’t wait to see the absolutely fabulous queue in California for ourselves. On to the video!
Wow you made my day, also using getaway today for our hotel and tickets and they’ve been fabulous! Hope to see either or both of you there!@@FreshBakedDisney
i’m a maximize minutes kind of rope dropper. if i could go to the parks more, i would feel better about a more leisurely approach, but since i only go once every few years, i want to get a lot of attractions in. i have taken things more easy a few times and really just soaked in the disney vibes, but since i can go to starbucks any day, standing in a long line for that is never on my agenda. love these strategy videos - keep ‘em coming!!
We always asked to ride row 7 of Runaway Railway and the CMs always look at us like were crazy, but its the first car out of the dance room and into the crusher, we love it.
Keep the rope dropping videos coming please. I will visiting from Texas Dec 18-20 and still can't make up my mind what to rope drop. Love your joyful videos!
Sitting just to be, is 100% is what I would do. Just various spots in the park, to absorb the atmospheres and do nothing but smell the roses. No fastpass, no queues, no hurry. Sign me up.
When I rope drop Fantasyland I do Alice first! Then toad, snow, Pinocchio . Check line for Peter Pan by then it’s usually only 30 get In line for Peter pan. Then hit carousel, Casey and canal boats. In the time that people get on PeterPan we’ve been on 4-5 of the dark rides
I feel like Peter Pan and then runaway railway is a great strategy if you have magic morning. The wait for Peter Pan is as short as it’ll be all day and runaway railway was just a walk on. I did it a couple months ago and it worked like a charm. Then do space mountain or Matterhorn after
One of my greatest DL memories was getting straight off the rope, speed walking through the hub and jumping into Fantasyland. My sister and I were the very first flight of the day on Peter Pan. When we got off, we bounced to Snow white & Pinocchio and there wasnt a single person in line. It was unreal!
With the hotel early entry, magic morning (whatever it's called now) going to alternating parks this rope drop will work even better on DCA mornings. Thanks for the great tips and fantastic, infectious energy. We are booked for a trip in April and the whole family is super excited.
12:35 i was recently at DL all by myself and I did take my time around the park. It was a different experience than other times when I was helping my party maximizing our time. It was nice but maybe a little lonely too lol.
I always feel like I am entering a new world. I love you Disneyland!!! I forget about everything, and its all disneyland and the disneyland touring plan...rope drop till close. Its amazing as long as you wear comfortable shoes, stay hydrated and bring your own toliet paper/wipes for the fam...then its golden.
Our family has done it many ways. When you could get the strawberry shortcake ice cream sundae on main street, which was so delicious, twice we found ourselves sitting on the porch!!! It was just the perfect spot for the four of us. lol Sure miss when our kids were little!!!
36:16 how is Peter Pan not getting any guests surrounding him?! He was not around when I was a kid and when he finally was I was so happy to meet him along with Wendy ❤ He and Wendy were randomly walking into Fantasyland (the actors were a pure joy to interact with) He was so rare at the time we thought it might have been guests (but that is not allowed)
Catching onto your channel as I’ve grown curious of Disneyland and enjoy your video ideas of a few I’ve seen……. But as a frequent WDW visitor- its def a different beast
We were there on Saturday too and saw you in the Big Thunder queue. Didn't wanna bug ya but now that I see you having such a chill morning, kinda regret not saying hi. Next time. Really liking your vibe in this video. Rock on.
190K SUBSCRIBERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WOW, didn't notice till just now, that you just hit 190K!! CONGRATULATIONS!!! Just hit it with your Tree house video....
Never thought to go to Runaway and Roger that early but it does make sense. I tend to go left at rope drop and get into my top four, Indy-Pirates-Haunted-Thunder Mountain. Fun video.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for including, “I must have hit that TRACK switch.” I needed that today 😂 Also, the Rancho enchilada comment makes me want some now
Love this video! The happiness is contagious! We’re fly to LAX tomorrow morning from Australia for our first time at Disneyland and DCA!! We are doing 10 days and are early birds so have not purchased genie plus, just the 7 day photo pass. I love this laid back approach. I’m so excited 😆 🎉 thanks fresh baked!!
Just being there early for the energy Disneyland has. We have rope dropped and we've taken our time on main street in the morning, the one constant is the energy that just doesn't exist when you walk in the gates later.
Gorgeous vlog! Thanks so much for all the new rope drop ideas. Thanks to you, honestly, I’ve learned to slow down a lot, and I love it. But we can’t go as much as we once did (from NorCal, used to be 2-3 times per yr and with AP for a lovely bit). Now I want to go by myself and just soak up the vibe (h/t Brickey). That said, I have fam I want to bring for their first time, & get the most done in AMs so we can relax more later. So this is gold for that plan since so much has changed even since last year, ty again! All the ❤️ to you & your beautiful fam.
Living vicariously through your video. As a night owl, I might do a rope drop maybe once or twice a year. The vast majority of the time has me coming in the evenings to enjoy the closing hours.
My uncle does the voice of yodeling mickey in that mickey short! And my cousin (his daughter) does the voice of yodeling minnie :) Super fun for my kids to hear their great uncle as mickey mouse! His name is Kerry Christensen, and he invented the "chicken yodel". It is exactly as it sounds. HAHAHA!
Hello! your comment on Big Thunder (mistake of going at 8:30/8:45am) why is that? On your last Rope Drop video you hit Big Thunder 3rd, at around that time and it was fine! Can you elaborate? Thank you! and love your videos - extremely helpful!!
If people are rope dropping, they should still be using their Genie plus as soon as they check in to the park. However, they should get something like IJ and edit the time backwards once there is a post-1000am slot available. That way, they can pick up a second LL after 120 minutes (~09:30am). So then they’ll have two LL’s ready to go after the first two hours rope dropping other rides in the park.
Listened to that part again. At first, I interpreted it as you recommending people don’t use their G+ at all until after 10am, but upon a second listening, you’re specifically saying just don’t use it on a ride that’s a walk on.
Random observation about mickeys runaway railway. In that area where you are boarding the train the music has a really short loop. 🎵Bum, bum, bum bum 🎵. It’s cute but it’s basically the same thing over and over and over and over. I was thinking that must almost be torture for the cast members stuck in that room. Like they probably get off work and the loop keeps playing in their dreams LOL. I noticed because there was a little hangup when I went on that ride in that room and it was starting to drive me crazy in the like 10 minutes I was in there. Ha.
I want to cruise and take it easy, but this will be the first time going to Disneyland in 8 years with my kids. We paid for Genie+, so we're going all out to maximize. We can enjoy while we wait in line. Since its Thanksgiving weekend, I'm sure there is a lot of waiting to be done.
Question. We are here and planned the preview for the tree tomorrow. Nowhere on the key portal did I ever see make a reservation the guy there now says the reservations are full. But we can try to stop by golden horseshoe tomorrow and try. BUMMER
Outstanding! Such a vibrant happy morning! Huge plus, one gets the Morning Golden Hour. I think the low angle morning sun might actually be more magical than the evening version! But it's a very close call! Also a plethora of FreshBaked salutes! Thanks David! PS: Where does one happen upon the Main Street Vehicle Stickers? (Am I a sticker monger? Why coitenly!)
FRESHBAKED REQUEST: David, I would love a video for each ride to watch as your inline for the ride. ALL of the facts and things that arent known to all. Will be taking DAD back to Disneyland in 2024, and would love facts and interesting tidbits for each ride. (He hasn't been to Disneyland for more than 25 years) THANKS LOVE CHANNEL.
I love Provost Pass, he is my number second favorite. I find each individual has a unique bend on how to present information and I love Freshbaked Mind Think! Don't get me wrong, I like both TH-camrs! Since I can't go until 9/15/2024, They provide my virtual visits.@@PhoenixVic21
Great video like, always,David. The wife and i went to the park for 3 day hopper pass in late October 19, 20 and 21 and oogie Boogie Bash, we did a rope drop on the 21st. We hit 6 rides in a hour and half due to very busy day in the park that morning for The haunted mansion holiday overlay, yes the 1st was haunted mansion, 2nd Indiana jones , 3rd big thunder, 4th matterhorn 5th Roger rabbit, 6th was mmrr, but it just broke down, so we decided to go on Pinocchio for the 6th ride. Timed everything, just getting into the 9am hour park was getting packed so we decided to use the LL, didnt want to but the park was getting very busy at 9am, but timed the LL perfect to finish up rope drop, my wife was shocked how many rides we got in at rope drop compared to arriving at the park around 9am or 10am. Keep it up we could not done this without all your videos, and we did enjoy all the good vibes and food too.
early entry is for just Tomorrowland and Fantasyland. So naturally that's where all your focus should be. Peter Pan is a great first choice there, then space mountain, then matterhorn. You should be able to at least the first two in that half hour and be in your third as the rope drops.
When doing the ropedrop for SpaceMountain, Matterhorn, Big Thunder, when is the best time to do the FantasyLand (PeterPan, Mr Toad's, Alice in Wonderland) all those?
@ appreciate it so much. Been watching your vids to prepare for a day in Disneyland on Sunday😅 planning to rope drop with my wife. Just 1 day so really tryna maximize :)) thank you!!
They're pretty much the same all day. so no need to rush and do them in the morning. use that time to hit LL attractions where there will definitely be time savings.
I’m a Starbucks rope dropper. Been to the park enough that people watching on Main Street is an attraction all to itself. It’s my happy place.
I REALLY love this new rope drop series, keep em coming!
will do thank you!

IMO flying over Neverland in that room is the single greatest moment on any ride in the park.

So then they’ll have two LL’s ready to go after the first two hours rope dropping other rides in the park.
you can use LL just once per ride. If you use LL for MMRR at 9am, you've wasted it.
Listened to that part again. At first, I interpreted it as you recommending people don’t use their G+ at all until after 10am, but upon a second listening, you’re specifically saying just don’t use it on a ride that’s a walk on.
Was just there with my friend Marcus, Wish we could of seen you!
Ha.

:)
BUMMER
It's always a good day when you meet Peter Pan!
Potato - LAND! LOOOVE IT!
I was handed mine as I walked down main street. steven and tyler gave them to me just after I stopped recording pre rope drop.
I like closing the park with Runaway Railway and Matterhorn and rope drop Space Mountain and Indiana Jones
the last two hours of the night are a lot like a reverse rope drop.
that was alway the ride I pick when it was my turn to pick as a kid.
Last time I was waiting to get on the Matterhorn I was thinking, they should have asked Arnie to do the announcement! 😂
Except that Arnold was only 12 when that recording debuted at Disneyland… and he is Austrian, not Swiss.
I recommend Provost Park Pass for cool Disney trivia type things. Also lovely messages in each video.
If you want to be at or near the hub rope for rope drop, how long before opening would you want to be at the main gate?
Could you please do a rope drop strategy for DCA?🙏 We are visiting Disneyland Resort for the first time in Dec!
He did one two months back. I’ll include a link in another post, and if you don’t see the link, just look back two months ago.

Fantasizing about enchiladas from BTR will never not be funny 😄🌯🌶️
During this video, you talked about big thunder. I was just curious how many trains can they run at the max?
David, I dunno how you manage to ride the Matterhorn and not scream or grunt or gasp like I do every single time cuz it’s one hellova bumpy ride 🤣🤣🤣
We I ment to say the park was getting busy at 9am so we decided to use the LL after being there at 725am for rope drop
Dave! Awesome videos! How does this change if you have early entry?
early entry is for just Tomorrowland and Fantasyland. So naturally that's where all your focus should be. Peter Pan is a great first choice there, then space mountain, then matterhorn. You should be able to at least the first two in that half hour and be in your third as the rope drops.
When doing the ropedrop for SpaceMountain, Matterhorn, Big Thunder, when is the best time to do the FantasyLand (PeterPan, Mr Toad's, Alice in Wonderland) all those?
if you're going stand by (not LL), you do those attractions mid day. noon to 4 or thereabouts.
@ appreciate it so much. Been watching your vids to prepare for a day in Disneyland on Sunday😅 planning to rope drop with my wife. Just 1 day so really tryna maximize :)) thank you!!
@ does that mean the wait times for the "darkrrides" in fantasy land aren't too crazy around those times?
They're pretty much the same all day. so no need to rush and do them in the morning. use that time to hit LL attractions where there will definitely be time savings.
@@FreshBakedDisney thank you 🙏🏻 will def do it that way 🫡 Happy Halloween!! And more power to you!
What’s your strategy for early magic plus genie+?
